Thom Yorke on New Modeselektor Album

Techy dance duo Modeselektor will release the follow-up to 2007's jubilantly titled Happy Birthday!, the new album Monkeytown, which sees release in the U.S. on October 4 via Monkeytown Records (the UK will get it the day before, while the record's released in Germany on September 30).

 

The album features contributions from Anti Pop Consortium, Busdriver, PVT, Miss Platinum-- oh, and the frontman of a little-known British rock band Radiohead, Thom Yorke, who contributes to two songs. A press release also notes that there are no singles planned leading up to the album's release, but there will be "three or four" singles following Monkeytown's release. Go bananas! (Sorry.)

 

This isn't the first time Yorke's worked with Modeselektor. He lent vocals to the Happy Birthday! cut "The White Flash", which is available for you to listen to below. Also below, find Modeselektor's tour dates.

No, I'm from Slovenia. :) It's true, there aren't many fans over here or at least they're really quiet about that. It'd make the queuing easier, though, as people here rarely queue for hours just to see a band. :D

I checked the listings for the Palladia TV station where it is supposed to air in the U.S., and nothing is listed for today, or for the foreseeable future for that matter.

 

So I have no clue. :\

I hope it is soon though. I would think DAS would at least mention when it will actually air, they just referred to it as "upcoming".

I'm looking forward to the videos that come out soon... if someone tapes it.
