  • Lol I haven't been here in 5 years but I decided to pop my head back in for some nostalgia. Seems like this was my last post so here's an update... I finally saw Radiohead live in Manchester in 2017 a

Okay Mike, I've watched Feral now.

Since you won the bet, you may now send me a PM with the shipping address to which you would like your winnings mailed. Congrats! :nice:

Holy shit. Lotus Flower sounded so good. Better than the album version, I think.

I didn't think it was possible for any of these songs to sound good live.

Wow..that was pretty much perfection.

Didn't expect the songs to sound as good as they did live.

So, currently:

TKOL FTB

Bloom <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Bloom

Morning Mr Magpie <<<< Morning Mr Magpie

Little By Little >>> Little By Little

Feral <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Feral

Lotus Flower >> Lotus Flower

Codex << Codex

Give Up the Ghost <<<< Give Up the Ghost

Separator = Separator

So, basically...

FTB > TKOL

full thing.

yknow, i think my favourite might be Little By Little

I'm not a huge fan of the album. In fact, it's my least favourite Radiohead album (post Pablo Honey). But these live versions are absolutely stunning. One of the best things they've ever done. Blows the actual album out of the water.

Here would be my rankings in comparing studio to FTB

Studio | From the Basement

Bloom < or = Bloom

Mr. Magpie > Mr. Magpie

Little By Little > Little By Little

Feral < Feral

Lotus Flower > Lotus Flower

Codex < Codex

Give Up the Ghost < Give Up the Ghost

Separator > Separator

The songs I was most impressed with were Feral, The Daily Mail and Give Up The Ghost. Daily Mail though was unbelievable... wow

I found Magpie to be extremely sloppy, and Little By Little was okay, but I like the studio version so much more.

Looks like Sky Arts are showing a radiohead show from Eurockeennes, so who knows how old that is

Give Up the Ghost sounds so much better live.

Best sounding version so far -

Thom's voice on Codex sounds EXACTLY like the studio version.

I was hoping they'd play The Butcher and Supercollider.

UGH! THEY KEEP TAKING THE VIDEOS DOWN.

How else are we suppose to watch it?

FFFUUU why do they keep blocking the vids :bomb: At least they're on Atease ready to be downloaded!

Will watch it after dinner

Okay, I finally watched it. Well, I suppose mostly just listened, I'm waiting to really "watch" it until it airs on Palladia on July 23rd.

My preferences of TKoL versus FTB for the tracks are as follows:

Bloom - FTB

Morning Mr Magpie - TKoL

Little By Little - TKoL

Feral - FTB

Lotus Flower - TKoL

Codex - FTB

Give Up The Ghost - FTB

Separator - TKoL (barely)

Feral was excellent; and I think I could actually make out a few words.

I was really disappointed with Little by Little. I didn't like how they slowed the tempo a bit, it made the effort seem kind of... I don't know, lazy? It just seemed sloppy.

I was kind of hoping that Thom would do GUTG completely by himself like I've seen in a couple of videos (pounding the mic with his hand to add to the vox loop for the beat). But I still like the FTB version more than TKoL.

Staircase was good. Daily Mail was excellent, I think it's a great song; I hope they play that live (assuming there's a tour, of course).

And it's a good thing that Colin doesn't sing, because when he was chatting it sounded like he had a cold.

Ha ha to the "WiiGi".
