Robyn has performed a cover of Coldplay's recent single 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall'. The Swedish singer, who is currently touring North America with Katy Perry and Marina And The Diamonds, performed a rendition of the track as well as her own new single 'Call Your Girlfriend' during a session in BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.

 

Robyn's version of the track replaces the original's stadium rock guitars with the icy piano that has become her trademark. You can hear it by scrolling down to the bottom of the page. The 'Body Talk' singer returns to the UK in September to play Bestival on the Isle Of Wight. Coldplay released 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' last month and have indicated that they have now completed work on their fifth studio album, which is rumoured to have been given the title of 'Mylo Xyloto'.

 

It fits her more than it does Coldplay really.

But still, it's a little weird.

coldplay should listen this.

That's true, it's a little kind of weird. Coldplay did a great job with the sample of "I go to rio" and made a exelent song.

So much better.

Abeano points out that Robyn stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge earlier today, performing immortal Body Talk single "Call Your Girlfriend" and a bloopy electro cover of Coldplay's new single "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall". Listen to the latter above. The lyric "I'd rather be a comma/ Than a full stop" sounds less dopey when Robyn sings it.

LOVED her version of it! I still love the original, but Robyn definitely put her own spin on it.

I think I like this more than the original, because I don't like the original and I'm not a big Robyn fan anyway, so I don't really care what she does. I still think Robyn's other songs are a lot better than this. And that says a lot about ETIAW.
