Thanks! Looks like it'll be subtitled rather than dubbed too! :nice:

Nice! Thanks for posting this :)

The question is, does Chris know that the "We want sex with Chris" poster is being used as part of the promotion for the program? LOL

Thanks! Looks like it'll be subtitled rather than dubbed too! :nice:

Of course! I don't understand why in other countries foreign languages are always dubbed.

Thanks a lot! I didn't even know that, and I watch Canvas...

Not sure about his explanation about mixing all types of music to please all types of people. I haven't been convinced of this strategy. But I'll give them one last chance to prove me wrong next week.

:awesome:

Oh great, didn't know this either! Will program it now :D

Yeah, I'm so glad they never dub in Belgium, it's so annoying (well Flanders anyway, the french part is a different story)

^ I'll do the same :P

yep I hate dubbed programmes, hate to watch it

I don't get dubbing either, it's so annoying. Why wouldn't you want to hear someone's real voice?

I think it will only be a short interview btw, but still nice. :)

The Canvas site says it will be a one hour show. So I think we can expect a interview with some of the coverage of the Werchter gig last summer. So can't wait, especially because I was at the Werchter show :)

According to Canvas:

Translated:

''Because of the release of the new album 'Mylo Xyloto' Kirsten Lemaire had an exclusive interview with Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin. Followed by the concert of Coldplay recorded at Rock Werchter 2011.''

Awesome! Let's hope they get asked something other than what does Mylo Xyloto mean, lol.

Chris asked about Pukkelpop :nice:

Interview by HUMO with tonight's interviewer:

Muziek: Coldplay Special

Lemaire «Gwyneth (Paltrow, mevrouw Chris Martin, red.). Enfin, men zei: 'No personal questions.' Iets wat blijkbaar gewaardeerd werd, want op het einde zei Martin nog: 'Thank you for talking about the record, and not about older rubbish, as usual.'»

Music: Coldplay Special

Missed out on Coldplay at Werchter this summer? To bring you to the attention of their fifth record 'Mylo Xyloto' (West Flemish for 'I also love you when you're wasted'), Canvas broadcasts the whole show again tonight.

The pre-show is taken care of by Kirsten Lemaire, who got to visit Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland the other day, exclusively for Flanders.

Kirsten Lemaire "We did that in their own studio, The Bakery, where they remained for months to record their album, up until the day before the interview. I was the first journalist of the day - and probably of the whole promo period - which was very pleasant. You could tell everything was still fresh inside their heads, they kept watching each other as well - like: 'How was it again?' Or: 'Am I allowed to say this?' They hadn't ben interviewed to pieces yet.

"Also remarkable: the people of the record company were pretty strained and made sure everything went according to their tight schedules. And just before the interview I saw an assistant comprehensively brushing their shoes which were part of the pressphoto outfit of the band - but Jonny and Chris themselves were very relaxed. To them everything was 'fine'. It was also more of a conversation than an interview.

"For example, halfway through Chris suddenly asked: 'This has nothing to do with the interview, but you're from Belgium: how did things end on Pukkelpop? Will everything be ok? What are the consequences? Et cetera.' Very sincere, just out of concern. Pleasant to see that he doesn't need to act like the Artist all the time."

HUMO Reportedly his new lyrics are about 'addiction, OCD and working for someone you don't like'.

Lemaire "I read that as well, and I asked him, laughingly: 'Is the world getting to you, these days?' Well, it seems like those are the main themes on the record, but I feel like he's doing very well himself. And also that he has a fitness membership nowadays. He used to be such a skinny boy, but now he has a very toned body. Er, that's just what I noticed."

HUMO Were there topics about which they told you were off limits?

Lemaire "Gwyneth (Paltrow, Mrs. Chris Martin). Well, they said: 'No personal questions.' Also because in that week, there had been press rumours about them not being toghether anymore. No problem for me; I was just there to talk about the record anyway. Something which was appreciated apparently, because in the end Martin said: 'Thank you for talking about the record, and not about older rubbish, as usual.'"

HUMO Did you punch yourself in the face afterwards because you had forgotten to ask something?

Lemaire "Yes! I wanted to ask what The Beatles were doing on their toilet."

HUMO Excuse me?

Lemaire "I went to the bathroom afterwards - an experience at itself, because now my butt has touched the the toilet seat which their butts had been sitting on for all those weeks (laughs). And there on the wall was this very nice, old black and white picture of four very young Beatles. At that moment, the interview was over. I didn't dare to ask the press representative for extra time, just because I 'still had a toilet question left'."

(West Flemish for 'I also love you when you're wasted')

:wtf:

Great article, thx for posting!

Can't wait for the actual interview

Lemaire "I went to the bathroom afterwards - an experience at itself, because now my butt has touched the the toilet seat which their butts had been sitting on for all those weeks (laughs). And there on the wall was this very nice, old black and white picture of four very young Beatles. At that moment, the interview was over. :D :D Would have loved to read the answer to that question :p
(West Flemish for 'I also love you when you're wasted')

:laugh3: typical Humo

they kept watching each other as well

:jbcm:

"For example, halfway through Chris suddenly asked: 'This has nothing to do with the interview, but you're from Belgium: how did things end on Pukkelpop? Will everything be ok? What are the consequences? Et cetera.' Very sincere, just out of concern. Pleasant to see that he doesn't need to act like the Artist all the time."

:wacky: and this is what I like about them

so sweet and just human, like they still know they played there

Lemaire "I went to the bathroom afterwards - an experience at itself, because now my butt has touched the the toilet seat which their butts had been sitting on for all those weeks (laughs). And there on the wall was this very nice, old black and white picture of four very young Beatles. At that moment, the interview was over. I didn't dare to ask the press representative for extra time, just because I 'still had a toilet question left'."

since I have a long day ahead tomorrow, is this an interview I can watch online, or will somebody tape it?
