Daar werd fotograaf en filmmaker Anton Corbijn geëerd met de Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Prijs 2011, een oeuvreprijs voor iemand die zich bijzonder verdienstelijk heeft gemaakt op het gebied van cultuur of natuur. Uit handen van niemand minder dan prinses Maxima ontvang Corbijn zijn prijs.

 

Ook U2-zanger Bono, Chris Martin van Coldplay en de Duitse zanger en acteur Herbert Grönemeyer brachten een creatief eerbetoon aan Corbijn. In het Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ traden ze met het Metropole Orkest op. Bruno.nl spotte ook Bono vlak na zijn optreden!

 

Chris Martin, Herbert Grönemeyer en Bono zijn allen artiesten waarmee Anton Corbijn samenwerkte en in de loop der jaren bevriend raakte. Ook Bart Chabot, Stephan Vanfleteren en Cees Nooteboom namen de microfoon ter hand.
