The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You

Glad to hear it! The sheer amount you have to remember for all science subjects is insane.

Jeeze, 90% Wow. I could only dream of my unit marks being that high. I'm a 75-80% person me :P

Thank you :awesome: I'm sure they'll go alrightish. Only neuroscience I'm worried about now, and that's not until next Monday so not thinking about it yet :laugh3:

Haha, I know right. You'd probably know better than anyone else here too. Neuroscience kinda sounds scary :P

I'm sure you'll be fine! Not too long now til you finish!

And yeah... I'm a bit of a perfectionist :P

Anyway, because exams are taking up ALL my time right now... is there any recent Muse goss/news? I can't be bothered taking the time to look it up right now. Assignment. Must. Get. Done.

  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

Wellll.... Not strictly Muse related, but Dom related... He's in another band apparently as a sideline gig.

They're playing a concert in LA.

^ :shocked2:

Any Dom news is Muse news!

What's this band he's playing in?

Actually, now I think about it I may have heard of that a while ago...

This is the release that alerted me to it:

Hi All,

I’ll be playing my new material for the first time on July 15 in Silverlake, CA at Satellite (formally Spaceland). I’ve been working on an album for two years with some friends of mine and we are almost done. The band playing on July 15 is Alex Carapetis, Dominic Howard(from Muse), Mark Stoermer (from Killers), Ray Suen (Flaming Lips), Sam Gendel on Sax and myself. The show will probably sell quick so I wanted to tell all my friends first before it goes public. Hope you can make the fun. Stay tuned for bits of music to be released coming soon. The album is the best thing I’ve ever done. The band will be playing on July 15 under the name EXPENSIVE LOVE. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.thesatellitela.com/.

Hope to see you,

Jason Hill

Haha, I read that the whole way through to the end thinking Dom had written it. And I was just like

"THE BEST MATERIALS HE'S EVER DONE????? :freak: :freak: :freak:"

And then I realised

That's really cool, though! Good on him.

wut is this

he should be writing Muse songs for his ever-needing fans. :phu:

hope he has fun though.

Psssh, I got tickets for that days ago.

Also, I'm hell-bent on meeting Dom there. That place only has a 260-person capacity anyway.

I DIDN'T EVEN SEE MARK IN THE LIST. :wreck:

Yay sounds awesome! :awesome:

omg i got coldplay tickets :o

Coldplay? More like Oldgay.

*continues to be ticked off about having to choose Muse over Coldplay at Lolla*

Lol.

That's so stupid though, who the hell planned out Lolla? :shifty:

Probably the arctic monkeys.

Not the band. Actual fucking monkeys from up north.

I thought you may have done. See, I'm jealous right now man, I wish that was here in the UK so I could go. Or that I had money to burn to fly out. Sometimes it sucks to be over here.

 Yep, Mark as welll. I missed out on the intimate Killer's gig at Scala because I was in an exam. My Mum tried to get tickets, but she didn't quite get the '12:00 on the dot' thing and expected to be able to get tickets still at 12:15 :bigcry: Tbh, probably a good thing otherwise I'd be more focused on that than exams.

Ohh! I hope that goes well. I defs advise you to see TDCC and The Kooks-- both are bloomin' insane live. Especially The Kooks (I'm going to see them again in October =3)

Could you imagine the Arctic Monkeys legit trying to timetable something?

Thanks! :D

I'm planning on it- I love TDCC, although I haven't heard any of The Kooks' stuff. My parents, on the other hand. . . let's just say they don't get that when you go to a festival, you don't skip the first 6 hours to see Coldplay. :|

I'm sure I'll convince them though. :D

And I don't get all of this with the Arctic Monkeys? Is it some sort of inside joke? :shame:

^You have heard of the band right? And the term that people from the north here are called Northern Monkeys? I think that pretty much is the joke. I'm just trying to imagine actual Alex Turner and co sitting down with a festival line-up and trying to organise it. They'd probably still do better than the Lolla organisers tbh.

Oh well, anyway, I'm sure you'll be able to convince them. I'll see if I can dig up my Kooks cd's and send you some of their stuff. I think that may be the week they're releasing their 3rd album. And yeah... They're awesome, they come from Brighton so one of the guys I work with went to college with them :dazzled:

Oh, I didn't know the whole "Northern Monkeys" thing. :P

Probably, my 8 year old cousin could organise it better. :shifty:

Don't worry, if I can convince my parents to let me see Muse I can convince them to get to festival at the correct time! :P

That would be :awesome:! Thanks!

It is the week of their album release. :dazzled:

Omg right when I was typing that post a huge branch fell from a tree outside the window. . . my dog and I went to check it out. :sneaky:

^:stunned: At first when you said huge branch I thought you were over-exaggerating... Then I saw the picture.

Jeeze

Awww, it's definitely cool that it's the week of album release. I got to hear some of the new stuff at teh last show and it was really good. I can't wait to see them again. I'm making myself a 'I  Brighton Boys' t-shirt like a proper fan-girl. And I will not look as trashed by the end of the gig either I swear (I'm glad I could ask the admin to take down teh photo because jeeze... I looked like a skank!)

Haha ikr? Scared the crap out of me when it fell! :laugh4:

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about that, even though I don't know their music. It's pretty awesome. :awesome:

I've always wanted to make a fangirl-y shirt like that for Muse. :dazzled: I'd probably get self conscious though. :P

Wait, was there a picture of you on their facebook or something? And you definitely do not look like a skank. :P I suppose you've never been down to the Jersey shore? :|

The Arctic Monkeys joke was made up because AM are playing the same festival. That is all there is to it. :P

Whoa! Judging from the size of it, the sound would have freaked me out.

Doggy! :cheesy:
