  • I've been a Muse fan for a couple of years now. I liked a couple of their hits but then a friend invited me to come with him to a Muse concert with him in 2013. The live experience was amazing and I h

I wouldn't say glasto last year was a disaster. I thought they were good.

Muse were great at Glasto last year. Not as great as Glasto 2004.

I DID think Wembley 2010 was better than Wembley 2007 though.

I was going to say, I thought muse did fine last year. :anxious:

^based on YouTube videos, I'm going to agree..... 2007 was monumental and historical for the band, but the performance of 2010 was just incredible.

If they don't make a DVD of it I may just have to hold Kirky hostage.

they never are disaster but i just hated the setlist

they could have sung more songs from showbiz and origins

I agree on both points. :D

Hey! leave mah man alone!

:P

That's true. But who doesn't love Guiding Light with streamers? :awesome: :P

i just fell in love with coldplay all over again:dance:

and even elbow were better then the muse disaster last year

I did exactly the same. Okay, so I never fell out of love with Coldplay. But I always have my three favourite bands who I say are 'tied' for place in my heart... But that's a lie, I'll always fawn over one more than the others. When The Resistance came out and the following tour I fawned Muse more. When Come Around Sundown came out I loved Kings of Leon more... With an impending Coldplay album I'm all *swoon* Coldplay again.

I still love my others though just to set that straight.

I have to disagree with Muse being a disaster last year. I thought it was a very good performance, even my brother (who isn't really a fan) said it was good (I feel like I may have been away on holiday in a caravan for Glasto 2010. I remember...) The problem with saying that they could have played more stuff from earlier albums is that, well, Muse's popularity has really spiked with the last 2 albums-- prior to that they were pretty unknown to radio play ect. That means the majority of the Glasto crowd wouldn't have heard any of the tracks.

I think they engineered the setlist to what was better for a Glasto crowd opposed to what was best for a general Muser crowd. They showed the material they thought that would go down well with the Glasto populace and potentially win them fans from it.

Coldplay have never had that problem just because, well, everyone knows all their material because they've been massive pretty much straight from the beginning. So they can play a mixture and get the entirety of the crowd going. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting as many new songs in the set-- I think that was a risk on their part

I've never been a huge fan of Muse but last year's performance at Glastonbury was really, really good imo.

ok i give and i so agree with u Natt

muse was never popular before blackholes & revelations but i wanted something like 2004 and i forget they were 30+ this time over

:p

btw i didn't really fall out of love with coldplay i just have this fear of hating coldplay albums whc they work on for to long (i've always hated X&Y :shame: ) so i didn't have any expectations this time around especially after ETIAW

IRONICALLY enough i love guiding light, most days :laugh3:

Me too, I like Guiding Light!

I had the most awesome weird dream last night. :awesome:

So, basically, I found my long-lost uncle, Uncle Wolsty. And we had coffee, and I said "Uncle Wolsty, does it take a long time to look at all the tweets people send you?" And he said "well, yeah, but I don't mind it too much" So then I said "Uncle Wolsty, please keep tweeting the fans! They love it!" and then he said "Okay, I will". :awesome:

And then when I left I said "Uncle Wolsty, can I have a Wolstenhug?"

And then I woke up.

Weird dreams ftw?

Oh and I agree with you Natt. :awesome:

Not to keep picking on you Haleema, but I'd say this is far from a disaster! :P

(I just want an excuse to post this video :dazzled:)

The thing that I love about Matt (well, one of many things) is that he has good air support when he sings.

Unlike Chris Martin.

Seriously, that's my biggest complaint of their Glasto performance. During one song (forgot which already lol) I could barely even hear him, that's how light he was singing. And then because of his poor breath support, he could barely hit the higher notes. :shifty:

^ I WANT. I WANT. But I know without trying it's going to be too big :bigcry:

i love the wolstendream Christina :dazzled:

i want to dream abt them too but sadly i dream abt nothing

:bigcry:

and i still think coldplay were better:phu:

i know chris really needs to take singing listens he sounded a little off last nite

i always say that muse are gods on stage and normal friendly guys off it but with coldplay its the other way round

coldplay (especially chris martin) take themselves to seriously

Just found this.

Someone needs to make it their avatar

Haha, that is win! :awesome:

I'll see if I can make it smaller. :wacky:

Aww, Natt's right, it's too big even when I make it smaller. :bigcry:

My experience with Chris Martin would make me beg to differ. I've always got the vibe that Matt's a little haughty (not Chris or Dom, I think they're right down to earth). And Chris Martin is definitely such a nice normal guy. He's sweet.

And I don't think they take themselves seriously actually. I don't think either of them do. Compare them with U2...

I do have to agree about Chris either learning to sing whilst doing his acrobatics or tone them down a bit. I think that's why he sounds off. M'Bellz stays relatively still if you compare the two front men. Yeah, Matt jams like a badass, but he doesn't do roly-poly's though does he?

Anyway, tbh, I love both bands, they both have their good points and their bad points. But I listen to them for different reasons so it's not much of a fuss here

matt is quiet i think thats why he seems cold and snobby and chrissy on other hand is sweet with fans:dazzled: but i hate his interviews close to albums being released

and they both have weird dancing styles

I agree with this post.

Although I think Matt's a sweet guy too, just in a different way. He seems like the one that would tease people a lot in school, while Chris (Martin) seems like the one that would be getting teased. . .

Anyways, I think Matt would certainly do roly-poly's if he didn't have an ~$8,000 guitar on. :P

He does a roly-poly at 2:24 during the solo. :awesome: even though it's lip sync.
