Coldplay's chart-topping track <a href=http://www.wikicoldplay.com/Paradse target="_blank">Paradise</a> was the most popular guitar anthem of 2011 and was the best-selling rock song last year after it sold more than 410,000 copies, according to the Official Charts Company. Coldplay boasted two songs in the top five rock singles of 2011, with aforementioned Paradise at number one and <a href=http://www.wikicoldplay.com/Every_Teardrop_Is_A_Waterfall target="_blank">Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall</a> at number four.

 

Coldplay also claimed the best-selling rock album in the UK for 2011 after their fifth studio LP <a href=http://www.wikicoldplay.com/Mylo_Xyloto target="_blank">Mylo Xyloto</a> scored sales of more than 908,000, despite only being released in October. Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher was placed at the second place in the album rundown with his debut solo offering Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, ahead of Florence and The Machine's Ceremonials and Foo Fighters' Wasting Light at three and four respectively. The Mumford and Sons' hit album Sigh No More rounded off the first five.
