NME Awards

Featured Replies

Coldplay nominated for 2 awards..."Worst Band" and "Worst Album". I absolutely hate NME, constantly drivel on about the Gallagher brothers (pair of idiots) and Arctic Monkeys, among other boring repetitive bands. Just look at the nominees, even they are boring and repetitive.

Uh I really like most of the bands nominated...

There are great bands on the lists. But, seriously, you can't nominate Coldplay's MX in the same category as JUSTIN BIEBER !

Pfffff :phu:

^That I agree on ! I like that they nominated Muse both in best and worst band too, very logical ^^

And I think Coldplay could have been nominated in "best artwork" if anything.

Most awards are going to be based on who's most popular.

Coldplay aren't.

I like Kasabian and Noel Gallagher and it's nice to see Laura Marling nominated.

In my opinion MX was pretty bad.

These are voted for by NME readers in case you were wondering about Muse.

I only go to NME.com for news, can't stand the average NME reader. Constantly moaning about how music needs saving. Irrelevant publication, ignorant readers.

Also, MX was pretty bad.

NME?? Why am I not surprised?

I don't really mind if Coldplay win this shit or not... (they're always be my favorite band), or if NME thinks that they're crap. The only thing that really pissed me of is that the are nominated along side with Justin Bieber. You can't put Coldplay in the same category as Coldplay, that's just... horrible!

Oh and if they're the worst band i wonder why where they in first place with Paradise in the UK's new Number One single...

You can say MX was pretty bad (inyouropinion). Still, I can't see how it compares to Justin Bieber.

Coldplay are popular. They're apparently not to NME readers : that's a difference.

^Oh I didn't see your post  Yes, I agree. Though on your last sentence, I would put it more this way: If they're not popular I wonder why where they in first place with Paradise in the UK's new Number One single...(cause sometimes what's in first place isn't good)

edit: Oh, and you need to edit your post  "You can't put Coldplay in the same category as Coldplay":lol:

Saw that too. Well, I can sort of understand Mylo Xyloto being nominated, and it's fine they don't like Coldplay but worst band?! Come on. I suggest NME readers go search for 'coldplay glastonbury 2011' on Youtube.

I hope that this nominations don't go break the morale of our troops. Because this is the magazine NME who supported (discovered) Coldplay in 2000.

^I don't think they even give a fuck about it. It's NME, not the Brits.

Actually... Coldplay had the best selling rock album and single of 2011 in your native UK.

So yeah...

I always hated NME, and not cause they hate on Coldplay. They are horrible journalists. Here is a typical NME article:

"Bill's new album is bad. Don't buy cause suck."

Plus they always try to make problems between Noel and Liam Gallagher where there are none. Yellow journalism and bad writing. Absolute and utter trash.

And they always come out with idiotic reviews like this one:http://www.nme.com/reviews/keane/9953

So yeah...

I know they are popular

people sing Paradise everyday in my class

if you asked them who coldplay was a year ago they'd have gone 'who?'

My point was Coldplay aren't popular amongst NME readers, they generally hate Coldplay.

NME readers are a bunch of idiots. And the journalism is atrocious, simple 'build them up, knock them down' strategies is what they use. Any band with as much mainstream success as Coldplay, like Keane as mentioned above and Snow Patrol get completely bashed. If it's not rock n roll they slag it off. Coldplay could have written the best album of the new millenium and NME would have given it a bad review, their review of MX was practically a review of Coldplay the band and not the album, the first thing they did was criticise the fan base they have.

OK, I jumped to conclusion, saw it as a pretty generalized statement, but then I figured you meant to refer only to the NME readers.

So it's safe to say that CP will "win". Screw them, their reviews are pretty awful.

muse : best british band and worst band!! what a genius people !!!!
