Coldplay’s Chris Martin met President Barack Obama

Tuesday March 13,2012

By Lizzie Catt with Lisa Higgins and Jack Teague

YOU would think waking up every morning next to Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow would alert Coldplay’s Chris Martin to the fact that he’s living a “surreal” life but it seems a meeting with the President of America has pushed him over the edge.

“I met Barack Obama and he said: ‘I have your songs on my iPod.’ But I thought: ‘I bet he says that to every pop star he meets,'” says Chris, 35.

“I can’t get my head around the notion that the President would have any of my songs on his playlist. It’s just too surreal.”

If that is indeed true and he does actually have their music on his iPod (which wouldn't surprise me, he does seem to have pretty cool taste in music), that makes me like the guy all the more :D.

There's this video where Chris says, if Obama could just have the word Coldplay tatooed on his neck. LOL

Chris was very vocal during the last US presidential elections, so I'm very pleased that the guy knows who he is.

It's all over the net now. I wish they'd post the initial original interview instead of these 2nd hand reports.

Chris Martin Can’t Believe Obama is a Fan!

CHRIS Martin can’t believe he’s known by the President.

The Coldplay rocker — who’s married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow — says he was shocked when Barack Obama told him he was a big fan of his music.

“I met Barack Obama in the summer and one thing he said to me was ‘Oh I have your songs on my iPod, but I just thought ‘Oh I bet he says that to every pop star he meets,” he said.

“I cant get my head around the notion that the President of the USA would have any of my songs on his playlist, it is just too surreal.”

coldplaymom, you forgot the "c" in Obama's first name in the thread title.

I understand why Chris thought that. Obama is in politics, after all (do you say a politic or a politician, when you mean the person ? I always get confused :shame: ). But it's very likely that he has at least one Coldplay song in his iPod, VLV for instance.

And it's politik, not politics. Silly Coeurli. :nice:

Yeah, I bet Obama says that to everyone. But no need to be dazzled Chrissy. Baby you're a star. :awesome:

Alright US people, whatever you do, just make sure this man get's re-elected.

Coldplay > right to vote

Trust me, I certainly will do my part. Not only because of this cool news and because I support Obama, but also because I'm absolutely terrified of what'll happen if the other side wins.
