Additional Legs?

Featured Replies

Hello all, I'm relatively new to the world of Coldplay, so this may be a stupid question to some of the veterans. I live in Tennessee and the closest they're coming on this tour is Atlanta. I'm working out of state this summer though and won't be able to make it. It seems like there are very few US dates on the tour. Do you guys expect there to be another US leg at some point or do you think what's there will be all there is? Thanks

Welcome here :D

Well, tbh there are quite a lot of dates in the US imo (though I'd agree it's a weird organization: not that many cities, but lots of them have 2 gigs). I don't think they're gonna add some more to that part of the tour. :\

Agreed, definitely a weird organization. I will admit, I'm used to getting every big tour coming through town so maybe I'm a little greedy. I just knew they came through here on the Viva tour, so I was hopeful that they'd be back to Nashville.

I would be surprised if there was not another US leg next spring because I have noticed that places such as New York and Las Vegas have been left out which seems strange. But maybe there are shows that are near those places. I've never been to the states so I don't know.

There will be multiple legs for the US tour.... I am actually from Las Vegas and have seen them there on the past two tours and there are a lot of cities they aren't going to this time around. This is just the first leg, they will be back.

I don't think it's possible to say with any certainty that there will be any additional dates until they're announced. It seems to me like they're following the method of many large bands (notably u2), where they play many multiple night stands in major markets while skipping over smaller or mid sized markets.

well, considering that the Australian Tour is a sure thing for november, they could possibly add some Asian dates around that time and that would be the end of the MX Tour for 2012. Now, there's been some rumors about a Latin America tour for March/April 2013, so im guessing is very unlikely they add more US dates. Even if they're missing some markets, all the big ones are included like someone said above.

dp sorry

Like they skipped the huge and brand new Orlando Arena this leg and I gotta go to Tampa, so when they come to O'Town YOU and DIANNE need to come here:D

agreed. there will most likely be more legs. during the VLV tour Chris often said this will be our last time in Los Angeles for awhile, but they came back 3 times :dozey::sneaky:

It's a plan! I would love to meet you :D

Don't know if Tampa could handle the three of us

I'm hoping there will be more. I don't know many people here in Nashville that don't like Coldplay. They could sell out easily here.. they probably could in most places though.

At this point though, they're also a band that people will commute long distances to see. A lot of bands start phasing out smaller markets when they get to that level. OTOH, Coldplay have historically played a lot of places in North America where UK bands seldom go, so anything's possible. I wouldn't be surprised either way.

I defo thinks there will be at least 2 or maybe 3 more lega to this tour. My guess would be: Europe/Asia leg - US/Canadia leg - Latin American leg.

I agree that more than likely there will be more legs, just maybe not North American ones.

They originally said they intended for this tour to last until summer 2013. With that said, this is my prediction for how the rest of this tour will look.

April-September 2012- North America/Europe, which we already know.

November/December 2012- Australia (confirmed to be happening. probably also dates in New Zealand, Japan, and maybe other southeast asian countries)

January/February/March 2013- North American arenas, then head to south to Mexico, then heading further south into.....

March/April 2013- Latin America leg, confirmed by band members to be happening in March/April

Early summer 2013- More European dates, stadium or arena, who knows?

I think they're gonna come back to the US - they usually do 2 legs here, don't it? on the 2nd leg, if I remember correctly, they play a lot of "sheds" and amphitheaters in smaller cities, so I think that's what they'll do during the MX tour too.

I hope so! More Dates in Europe, please.

For example Vienna (Austria)!

Yeah could possibly hit up the sheds in late spring/early summer in the US/Canada after the March/April Latin America tour as well. I just hope they come to either Columbus or Cincinnati, or else I'll be forced to miss out!!!
