I'm sorry, but I know the thing with different opinions and all.... But Evanescence just plain fucking sucks. I can't wait until their days are over like Good Charlotte, and all those other shitty bands.

yes! amen!

I mean come on I have evanescence' album *hangs head in shame* and every feckin song sounds the same as another!! they only have 2 styles!

but Amys voice is good but just give up while your ahead!!

I know! They're just a passing fad, prob won't be around this time next year (with any luck) I hope they take Linkin Park, Avril bloody Lavigne, and Limp Bizkit with them.

:P well I don't :P

meh no but these silly little 'punk' bands need to disappear FOREVER! :sneaky:

Finally someone who doesn't like Evanescence!

I'm just unclear as to why you'd want to start a thread like this. If you think these bands suck, wouldn't you want to talk about them less.

Isn't the underlying purpose of this post to try to bring to light, to those people who like music like this, the perceived weakness of it? And in the process isn't offending those people inevitable? As such, isn't starting a thread like this essentially hate-mongering?

In the end, can't people just let others have their preferences and happiness, wherever they might find them.

Aw' date=' I like Linkin Park :P[/quote']

I do, too. I don't like them a lot, but I enjoy Numb.

I like most of their songs :D They're pretty unique.

but avrils my queen!

not.

oh god, evanescence is a horrible band. just like theory of a defaul back! and other bands like sum 41, SIMPLE PLAN, and all the other bands just SUCK!...all the new stuff totally warped the meaning of "punk". There are kids in my school with "punks not dead" written on their backpacks what a lie, it died a long time ago. and whats with "Skater punk". what the feck? THAT should die, along with all the other shithead bands. the country rock bands..pfft, nickelback..

Just let people like what they like... not everyone can be a fortunate as us... to have such great tastes in music... I mean... that sounded good in my head...

I still wonder where punk would be today is The Sex Pistols hadn't sacked Glen Matlock and replaced him with Sid Vicous. I mean, they were only around for like 26 months or something. If they had of kept Glen they would probably of been around much longer and I think things would be different today, as far as "punk" music goes I mean.

Meh...I don't know what I'm saying, don't listen to me.

It'd probably be right about the same place. Punk was a movement, and no movement lasts forever. Since on of the tenets of punk was an antiestablishmentism, it would be almost impossible for it to survive any prolonged period of time without deriving some self-defeating reason for incorporating itself into the music mainstream.

As is, that's what happened. Punk went mainstream. For the most part, people didn't leave the movement ... they just grew up and started families and jobs and lives and, since punk was no longer a rebellious outlet for the younger fans, punk wasn't bringing in any new fans.

So it died.

Just a theory.
