He is so funny. He could have an ancillary job as a comedian he is so funny. But he does his real job so brilliantly to not have to look anywhere else. Atlas sounds so good.

Cute but cringey throughout. He needs the band.

 

This shows yet again that his greatest power as a songwriter is melody.

The less they screw with it in the studio, the better. Sadly.

That was lovely. Yes, he needs the band, I'm sure he felt strange without them (Jonny at least couldn't make it?). But the point is made that Coldplay can do any song, anyplace, anytime, stripped down to its barest. And his piano playing is sounding very nice.

I think the piano melody is absolutely lovely and it makes me miss the band even more. Chris also needs a bit of practice with Atlas, live, I think.

No but srsly I can see a stripped-down Atlas on the bstage during the LP6 tour.

I think it sounds pretty damn good just as it is. :D But I would also LOVE to hear it played with the entire band.

I hadn't listened to Atlas for a while before watching that, but it reminded me that Atlas is a great song. It also reminded me what a lovely solo performer Chris is (obviously nowhere near as great as the full band though) :nice:

 

I'd love to hear a full band version too, though for some reason I have a feeling they won't play it live very much (if at all) :\

I don't think they'll play it much either. Once the new album comes out, they'll most likely be playing songs from that instead of Atlas.

At last, we get to hear Atlas live! Chris Martin performed the Coldplay song that will be featured in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at the Hollywood Film Awards on Monday night! We hope Chris and his band will eventually play this in an arena filled with intense people! No, we're not talking the Hunger Games, we're talking about a Coldplay concert! In rare form, Chris joked around saying that he hoped this song would help bring the Hunger Games to London in 2020, and that in order to write this song, he lived in the woods for 6 months! Uh, we hope the cheating rumors surrounding Gwyneth Paltrow aren't true, because Chris is the perfect man. We're talking about Gale level of perfection here folks!
