Guest diogo_sg
Here's my entry. Hope you like it ;) In a technicolor dream A story was once told. No secrets were there to be seen, No lies were there to be told. This is how it goes: Sitting on a roof, somebody said: "Does anyone have proof that there's good out there?" Then, a lightning striked, the sky it teared, And an angel's choir readily declared: "It is clear to see that there's good in the world. Have you not seen the way that these waters roll? Witness this life and its crazy design; I'll take you by the hand and make you feel alive." And, in a symphony of light, They went shooting across the sky. But before you ask: "Was there always such delight?" I'll inform you that there wasn't; there was also a dark night: Claws of pain just too strong to tame, Rivers of tears, flooded by a million fears. Keeping life inside is too hard when you cry. But pray, for one day you'll see a light on And love will hear your call. There was also a savage while: Once upon a time, there was a rebellion of the light; Two sides, two poles that fight; one for the dark and one for the sparks. Glowing in the deep night, watching you like crocodiles, Forming flaming waterfalls, spray-painting every teardrop. Aim your arrows and never stop! One day the sun will rise up again And morning will burst the clouds, amen. History tells the craziest stories: About witches and spells (and rebel yells); Kings who swept through recycled battles; Mysterious ghosts by the gateways of heavens; Lovers who wrote postcards and letters. Is there a way to this dream escape And become an escapist while lying awake? Before all the madness, where were we going? Into uncertainty, in tidal waves floating; Hoping to know where we stand in the sea of faces. Take a breath and take a step, See the world in white or black, Fix someone or make them talk, Or go somewhere you've been before. Standing on the edge of a bridge, Begging and pleading for a single kiss, A body with strength, a mind with peace; If only she knew how much he missed her lips. Consumed by anger and deadly revenge, He wanted a smile upon his face. So God said to him: "That you can't have, But I can still take you back to the start." So here we are now in this wooden house Looking at the stars after sundown. It's a beautiful world of love and hate; Come out of the water, get driven away. Parachutes and spiderwebs fall from above, And you hear a voice singing: "Believe in Love". This is how the story went; hope you enjoyed the tale. There's so much more to add, but I'll leave it for another day. It's the story of a band better known as Coldplay.

gerben
My poem: Title: A Head Full of Dreams Sometimes we lie awake at night Entangled in our own minds A confusing inspiration The dire need for clarity Why don't we cherish this moment Let our minds take us where it wants to go And follow sheepishly Into the Technicolour Abyss I want rest! I want peace! Dead, is another idea And that is another idea Roam free unrestricted by reason Twist and turn not in bed sheets But in wicked ideas Let them devour you Until all that is left Is the awaiting kiss Of the darkened night On the lightened mind

alisbe
Here it is my poem :) Four years I was an odd one out Music was just that There was n't a meaning behind it And there wasn't something extraordinary But in the blink of an eye I was in Paradise Watching and listening to for the first time Discovering a hidden treasure That was telling me hope isn't lost I kept that chest With albums full of memories, Photos of my biggest dreams, And videos of how I think the future looks like Four years have passed I've met new friends I've got what I deserved I've seen life in its full bright side Now, new dreams are coming Some friends say April will change my life And I tell them My life has changed since four years ago

I ran away
Borrowed Time A hot air patchwork art balloon floats across horizons too azure Balloon bursts out into a million colours Bubbles raining down Your lines, so pure And still the sky was so blue And still your words became true And still you landed, softly as a feather does Like a promise of a careless hour I close my eyes and begin to see Like a pure and sudden shower Deep blue eyes and the deep blue sea And then Balloons rise up at the horizon Up and up they go Until they are too small to be perceived On tape and yet alive I hear you breathe In the sky of my mind not a single cloud Maybe life passes by, can't hear it, music too loud Here I lie on my own in a peace unknown in my tranquil, serene and separate sky Fast forward through an age of sorrow Those deep recesses of the nighttime From you I borrow the tomorrow The road trip of a lifetime And though the sky was so true And though your words became blue Still I landed, softly as a feather does Pure cathartic liquid drops A sky that gently weeps On we roll between life's traffic stops In the city that never sleeps And then Balloon touches down before my eyes Life's most colourful incarnation And for the first time I realize Not a figment of my imagination You are real On my mind's horizon not a single cloud Now whoever gives my guesthouse a gentle knock I welcome them in where the music is loud You made me the comma, not the full stop And when too many crowd that room I step outside and board a balloon and up and up and up I fly to be on my own and in a peace unknown find that tranquil, serene and separate sky

iamsue
Life's cruelty happens, yet, by design Grace pours in It's a very fine line From within the spirit withers and wanes Yet, alas! New dreams sprout Easing the pain Stewards of dreams, music in reams There for earth and her people Four kind men and their team In sleep see her running where she lay To a musical sanctuary Who else, but Coldplay? Her Paradise! (Believe. Don't ever give up!)

EasySuperstition99
Non Copus Mentis Drenched in black We were sober Frayed strings, I shifted a bit Head clear as a shattered mirror like the one that I poured myself in The still air said it was over Lion strides no The terror is ever swelling in my eyes And my body is seizing, shaking off my lies The delusions I've drawn up in my mind With a soaking stone pencil I wasn't even there that night The mourners all weep And I decide to weep for me Feeling of empathy for the family But how could I? I let her Away is all I can reply Even then I choke and conjure doubt in my mind (the demons inside) And the city smudges by through the ride Pondering for a mile of a time Lion strides no The terror is ever swelling in my eyes And my body is seizing, shaking off my lies The delusions I've drawn up in my mind With a soaking stone pencil Was I there that night? You were sleeping then I started chanting until I started saying I was slumbered The middle man delivers death with no head or heart That's how I was at the start Then I ended up in this mess This reflects my experiences listening to Coldplay songs like Trouble and We Never Change (the sad songs).
