I've been there for one week more or less and it was for work (or at least it should have been :P)..we stayed four days in Shanghai and four in Beijing :)

I have a friend who's now studying chinese in Beijing and we managed to meet there..kinda weird I would say

Yes I enjoyed my stay there, even if I'm not that used to this kind of cities (I mean really big ones) and considering that I couldn't understand most of the people, it has been a struggle with taxi drivers too, some of them didn't even know where my hotel was :lol:

yea it's horrible how they dont know a word in english

the hotel had this little card that had all the major places written in english and in chinese so we showed it to the cab drivers and that's how we managed

my dad is used to things by now

but it really is very different

Hopefully they will learn at least some necessary words by the time of the Olympic Games..we tried to teach one of the taxi drivers how to say left, right and straight on, it was funny :lol:
