The Snow Patrol Thread

Featured Replies

^yeah, this is the Coldplay gig I went to, not Snow Patrol. Snow Patrol happened to be opening for Coldplay at that show.

Oh, just got what you meant. Yeah, at that particular show there was no pit. Which I'm sure sucked for people who weren't lucky enough to get upgrades. :P But, it was FABULOUS being in the very front without having to worry about losing your spot or someone squeezing past you, etc. etc.

That never happens if you're vigilant enough!:smug:

  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

Pity we're going on different days.:(

are you going on the 1st day @ the RAH? its going to be so hard not to look at everyones pics/reviews - and the setlist!! have you been to see them before?

My girlfriend and I went to the gig super early, we had already bought shirts the night before so we too our seats. They were relatively close to the stage. about 20 feet from b-stage. I said something jokingly to bg my girlfriend and she started to pout. Well Andy the video manager saw and ran over to cheer her up by giving her one of Jonnys picks.

I then talked to him and nerded out in Coldplay speak. I named Miller and Phil, talked about their last Vancouver gig. Wel lafter the first opener he came back and said "These are from Chris" and handed them to me. 4th row row 1 on the ramp left side. Right infront of Jonny, it made my life.

Yes, I'm going on the Monday.;)

This will be my fourth SP gig, the last being Duesseldorf in May.;)

Jealous of all you guys going to the RAH gig!!

I'll be waiting on reports and pics when you guys get back ;)

nope. haven't received mine yet & i'm going for the Bristol gig, which is the 2nd show on their tour...so that's just 2wks & a bit away. :(

So how did you guys get "upgraded", and how was that possible?

seriously i was wondering the same thing! you turkeys are VERY lucky :) :D  i don't forsee that luck in my future :)

i saw SP open for U2 at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts which housed like 50,000 people and 2 days later at the Beacon Theatre in NYC which seats 3,000, and BOTH were amazing. Gillette was so fun and a ton of energy and they played in that crazy U2 stage so well, but at the smaller place it just felt so up close and personal - Gary was actually talking and having conversations with people in the way back during the show. Both nights were so different but just so enjoyable :) :D .... i might be in love <3

Hey Meredith!

:wacky: awwww... in love.

I know what you mean about the smaller gigs being so cool- Gary kept pointing people out in the back and dedicating songs to them! BUT, when I saw them open for CP, he was very much the same, just directing most of the banter to the floor... He and Paul in particular were very smiley at that show.

oh, and about the upgrades thing... don't say it won't happen... you never know! I was pretty much in shock when it happened to me!

hahah JEN you are so positive - and how lucky were you that you got SP at the coldplay show and an upgrade on top of that! I have to say this isn't the first time that I've heard about these upgrades - thats a totally stand up move for them to move people to the front - i love it!

I've been VERY lucky with getting good seats off the bat so i can't complain - but seriously that must be so exciting!

two of my BEST concert experiences involve SP for two very different reasons and of course one was at each of the two shows I saw, so I couldn't say which one I loved more - although the small shows are obviously a little extra exciting because you can see and hear more....

Yeah, the upgrade thing is very cool. It's nice that some bands still do things like that for their fans!

OK, now I'm intrigued...

two of my BEST concert experiences involve SP for two very different reasons

... spill it! ;)

bahahah sorry i guess it does seem like i left ya hanging - didn't mean to do that sorry! I am not a GREAT story teller, and it's probably pretty boring to everyone else but I'll give it a whirl! :D

WELL at gillette stadium SP was out and they were just being so funny and endearing and it was so easy to see that they were just winning everyone over ... so shut your eyes came and went and then they played....another great song which i forget by now...but when it was over the whole crowd just started singing "shut your eyes and sing to meeeeee" over and over again - went on for more than two minutes i would say - Gary literally fell to the floor and was so excited and surprised that people were still singing it. he then got on his knees and thanked everyone - it was so sweet and sincere and it was so memorable - especially since i don't think there were many SP fans in the 50,000 to begin with (whyyy aren't they bigger in North America)

OK well that was an awful story but trust me it was one of the best concert moments ever (imo...even though you might think it was kind of lame) hahah

sorrry for the double posting! ... I'll make up for it by saying GO Phillies :)

that is a great story, Meredith!

it'd be so cool to see...

:cheesy:

oh, wait! look what I found! :P
