i agree with everyone mostly. i haaaaaaate lifeboats. i would have to say so far i think the lightning strike is the best song. i really love all 3 parts but especially the 3rd. and i really like the planets bend between us. overall i think the album is good but nothing really special.

First 3 tracks are very strong and really good. Its kinda reminding me of a Coldplay meets Death Cab album.

Engines has grown on me a little since first hearing it. Lifeboats is just kinda bleh... I dunno it just doesnt stand out. Im with Live4coldplay, its not BAD I dont hate it like Boston. Its just not very good.

 

ps. currently ranks #2 on my year end list. Ill let you guess what is #1...

Amazing album! The Lightning Strike is amazing!

 

A great album all in all. A slightly different Snow Patrol, the description that it was more from the "Happy Side of a relationship than the previous sad side" was pretty accurate. And This album is great!

the beginning of 'please just take these photos from my hand' sounds a BIT like open your eyes.... anyone else kinda hear it?? but i like that song a lot anyway. also, the golden floor is growing on me a lot. i like the hand claps a lottttt.

I can't say i love the whole album yet because I haven't stopped listening to "Please Just Take These Photos from My Hands" I absolutely freaking love it. It's like old school SP to me. I don't know, it just builds up so much.

 

so yeah that song, amazing! Rest of the album will have to wait. :P

Crack the Shutters is great. Except the chorus is my least favorite part.

Is it as bland as NME says (I hate NME...) but I did think Eyes Open was just a bland album with some moments and a whole lot of bed wetting...

 

Final Straw at least could be catagorised as an Indie Rock album. And a great one at that.

 

But other than one or 2 singles that hit the spot I've found most of the stuff mediocre but very listenable.

 

They've billed this as a departure, I really hope it is... Take back the city really didn't intrest me.
