The Oscars

*shrugs* beats the hell out of me.

all i know is hope "lost in translation" wins a lot of crap because that was the only really good movie i've seen in the past year. i don't even know who's nominated for anything.

should i mention i've only seen about 5 or 6 movies that came out in the last year, and two of those were matrix sequels?

when are the oscars anyway?

They're on Sunday!

And I agree with you on Lost in Translation. That movie was great! Bill Murray should win, but i have a feeling Sean Penn might take it for Mystic River. :)

I don't quite understand how one could see both mystic river and lost in translation and say Bill Murray's performance was the superior performance. Cuold somebody describe their view?

ROTK :D :D :D

I would bet my money on ROTK, Peter Jackson, Sean Penn, Charlize Theron, Tim Robbins and Rene Zellwegger.

I would perfer Watts instead of Theron and Harden instead of Zellwegger.

Hmmm everybody knows that the rotk is gonna win.... :D I mean THEY HAVE TO WIN, GOD DAMN IT! :D :D :P

Seabiscuit is so underrated. :( I don't think it will win anything. :/

Don't get me wrong.....I loooove Sean Penn. I don't know. I just thought Bill Murray was good too.

*walks aimlessly around room*

I like Bill Murray a lot, and I think that he has been generally underappreciated as people hold tight to antiquaited preconceptions. But at the same time, I think to let that sentiment overshadow really great performances like Penn's or Ben Kingsley's is a great disservice to them. Murray did a really good job, but in all it wasn't the type of demanding role that Penn's was. This is not to say Murray didn't do a great job, but the job at his feel required less than what Penn's did.

Seabiscuit is so underrated. :( I don't think it will win anything. :/

It got nominated for best picture in a year where there were a lot of very good movies. That's quite an acoomplishment.

OK .. work break ovah.

Maybe.

THE SOURCE

Woooooowooooooo!!!!! RETURN OF THE KING!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smug:

And - DAMN! - I'm so sorry for our czech film Želary

me too. i hoped it`d win. it was shot in poland i think.

but i`m happy for charleze thrron and sofia coppola and rene zellweger (sp?).

i`m dissapointed that the show was so predictible therefore so boring. i could hardly keep myself awake.

and of course the lord of tha rings got it all which was kinda disturbing. i hate big production films like this becuz it shadows all the other great films. oh well.. :dozey:
