The Offical "The Killers" Thread

Featured Replies

It's the second time now that the location in Berlin has changed due to an enormous request. Now the concert will take place in the "arena" in Berlin-Treptow. :nice: You now have a chance to buy new tickets.

Has anyone got the Read My Mind EP with the Pet Shop Boys remix yet? Any chance of an upload please?

If you have the possibility to receive German television, don't miss The Killers live at TV Total on March 13th at 23:15 (directly after Grey's Anatomy) on Pro7.

^ yepp, already marked in my calendar :)

:wink3: Can't wait to watch it. Hopefully they will do an interview before they're going to perform their song. I guess it will be "Read My Mind".

Ah, today in a week...! :nice: I like their second album even more and more. It took a long time, but now I can't get enough of "Sam's Town". What about you?

yeah, "Sam's Town" gets better and better and perhaps it'll be my favourite album until next sunday :D hahaha.

oh my, i cannot wait any longer, too.

soooo exciting! :)

yeah, i bet they'll play "Read My Mind", if they actually perform a song..

still, "When You Were Young" is my favourite. can't wait to see them actually play that song. guess everyone will go nuts then :nice:

The support band in Berlin will be a British band called "Mumm-Ra". Never heard of them before. Hope they're not boring...

Do you go on your own next Sunday or with some of your friends?

yepp, with another friend who is the actual Killers fan.

dunno who'll be the support band here in frankfurt.

how did you get to know about "Mumm-Ra" (what an amazing name, btw)? :D

mhh... i guess it's not Chris Martin. :(

lol. remember when he was at their London gig and also performed?

Unfortunately I guess the same...

It was the gig where he played "When You Were Young", wasn't it? Don't have the best memories.

^ yepp.

oh my. i guess i would gone completey nuts if i had seen chris popping up on stage :stunned: :shocked2:

would've been even better than the main act ...

Yeah, but who knows... Maybe you get Chris Martin instead of Mumm-Ra in Frankfurt. Don't abandon hope!

yeah, sure.

considering the fact that he's been in Frankfurt back in 2003 for the last time

yeah, sure.

Hehe, well almost true! I think you could have seen Coldplay during the World Cup when England had it's first game in Frankfurt last year. ARD probably showed them before kick-off. But I think you mean relating to concerts.

Is anyone willing to record it for us non German people?

btw...they performed Shadowplay and Uncle Jonny at NME Awards two days ago..maybe they can do the same at TV Total :nice: I like that program, I've seen both Coldplay and U2 appearance and I like the host and how he jokes with them :)

^ yeah, Stefan Raab is the best comedian host on german television. :nice:

he's so funny and everything's so spontaneos!

whatsoever.

i don't think i'll be able to record it since i do not have anything to record it with... :dozey:

my friends said she wanted to film everything, though.

and i'm definitely going to bring my camera. so :) yeah, hopefully i'll get some nice shots.

well, Lars, could you please post the setlist then? :nice:

This weekend I went to my favourite city Berlin to see the Killers and what more can I tell you?! It was absolutely incredible! OMG, what a gig!

My friends and I arrived at 8.30pm and first we listened to the music of their support band called “Mumm-Ra”. It’s a British band and I really liked a few of their songs. They said they never played in front of so many people before. Guess you will hear something of them sooner or later…

Then only 20 minutes later you suddenly saw an intro to “Sam’s Town” and the Killers began with the same song! “I seeeeeeeeeee London, I seeeeeeee Sam’s Town”. LFMAO! Next songs were an “Enterlude” and “When You Where Young”. The first song of “Hot Fuss” was “Somebody Told Me”. They nearly played every song of “Sam’s Town” except “This River Is Wild” and “Where The White Boys Dance”. Can’t remember exactly all songs, but from “Hot Fuss” they played everything except “Andy, You’re A Star”, “Change Your Mind”, “Midnight Show” and “Everything Will be Alright”. During the encore they also performed a cover version of a song I didn’t know before, but it sounded amazing. More and more songs have been followed afterwards and it seemed that they didn’t want to stop the concert. It was astonishing! Climax was… sure “Mr. Brideside” and also “Read My Mind” which they played twice. In the end they did the “Exitlude” and really everyone sang together with them.

After the concert I was all in a sweat and out of order for the rest of the very looooong night! “Heeeeelp Me Get Down, I Can Make It, Heeeeelp Me Get Down, Heeeeelp Me Get Dooooown”! :P

By the way there have been a lot of British fans in Berlin. Some crazy English women had a funny self-made Sam’s Town sign to show other supporters the wrong way to the Arena in Treptow (East Berlin). :D Fortunately I knew the right way.

If anyone of you ever has a change to see the Killers live… do it!!! The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that they weren’t very communicative during the whole concert. I don’t like that… not very important though.

Awwww it seems you had a really great time..I'm gonna see them in June, well it will be a Festival as they're not doing gigs now in Italy, but better than nothing :)

I believe the cover they played is Shadowplay by Joy Division

OH MY GOD!!!

i just came back from the gig.

just took a shower and here i am...writing a short review now.

first of all... the support band Mumm-Ra started playing at 8. was all fine. they did have a few descent songs (kinda sounded the same, though...). whatsoever. the leadsinger was soooo fucking cute.

they stopped playing at about 8:30.

so... we had to wait another whole fucking hour until the killers got onstage!!! :(

fuck that... still.. i was in the front row or at least the first few songs. people went nuts.

the went crazier and crazier and there was that stupid whore right next to me who kept pushing me... :veryangry: then suddenly she said:"your bangles hurt my arm" and i replied:"i don't give a fuck". i'm usually not like that AT ALL, but she annoyed me so bad that i was about to punch that bitch in the face!!!

>_<

okay, the concert was amazing!

they always played bits of "Read My Mind" or "When You Were YOung" throughout the concert and at the end they played "All These Things That I've Done", which was just the best ending for a concert! everyone kept singing "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier..." oh my!

i took about 130 pics. most of the are shite, i suppose. it wasn't even my camera. my friend's the actual killers fan so i decided to take all the pics for her so that she could enjoy the concert ;) see how nice i am... :P

i wish i had someone tall with me to protect me. lawwwl. there was this cute couple standing right next to us and the guy always asked his girlfriend:"you okay?!?!" awww... asked him if he could take a good pic of brandon because he was so tall :)

oh and Soufiane, i took a pic of Dave just for you ;) hope it came out very well :)

when they played the encore people went even crazier. they kept pushing each other and ended up moshing. yeah, and i was in the middle of the fucking moshpit (random note: i hate moshpits). whatsoever. everyone was so sweaty...ewwww...

whatever.

so at the end we went to go get something to drink and sit somewhere and suddenly that leadsinger from Mumm-Ra popped up!!!

HE WAS GORGEOUS!

i've asked him if we could take a picture and... oh my... he was sooooo cute!!

(although everyone said he looked like a hobbit :dozey:)

we were chatting a bit. he asked me if i were from england and stuff and blah~ and i've asked him when their album's gonna be released. he said:"sometime around may... in germany and the uk!" OH MY!!! he signed my ticket although his band's not even mentioned on it...

can't get over the fact that he was sooo kind!!

gotta say the same as Lars. Brandon and the gang just didn't communicate. they didn't even say "hello" or something stupid like "what's up frankfurt?".

bummer. >_<

and yeah, the audience was shite, too... expecially the chicks. they were just way too bitchy... and there were those three 12-year-olds who kept their sunnies on during the whole concert. ahhhh .... fuck them.

P.S. i've got a horrible headache ---

wow looks like you had an awesome time. That was nice of you to take pics for your friend.
