The Offical "The Killers" Thread

Featured Replies

i only really love two killers song, them being there two most popular lol (mr brightside and all these things that ive done). i havent exactly explored their catalogue, so maybe i'll find some more i like. those two songs are just amazing though, like im actually unable to describe their awesomeness lol.

Their albums are very good. Start with Hot Fuss, of course. The albums are very easy to get into, I think.

I don't understand the Sam's Town hate that I hear all the time. Brilliant album in my opinion. Read My Mind ranks up there as a classic Killers track. This River Is Wild is just massive--even moreso live. I really liked their whole concept-album-but-not-really-a-concept-album idea.

Also, that said, I think All These Things That I've Done MIGHT just be one of the best songs of all time. It's seriously iconic.

^^

and brandon flowers is one of the best frontmen of all time. he might sound like his having a asthma attack most of the time, but his an incredible performer. on its own Sam's Town its an average album but live in concert its amazing, some of the ST songs sound better live than the Hot Fuss songs especially Uncle Jonny and Sams Town. love it when he screams WHY DO YOU WASTE MY TIME

Brandon's looking very suave on the cover of NME - minus the facial hair that he said took him his whole life to grow!

Just bought Hot Fuss and Sams Town on eBay over the weekend. Can't wait for them to arrive - I've got a feeling I'm gonna be listening to them over and over.

How do the other tracks compare to the singles..?

just been following the killers mini-world-tour over the past month and seen that the band has only played two new songs which i find very very dissapointing. whats the point of a pre-album-release tour when you're not going to play alot of new material. at last weekend reading festival the band put on an amzing performance but only played Spaceman from their new stuff.

How are the new songs sounding? Are they more like Hot Fuss or Sam's Town, or are they totally different again? And what's Brandon's voice like... smooth HF or gravelly ST?

At major festivals before you release a new album in a few months it is best not to play songs from that new album because the people watching wouldn't know the new songs.

Although if you were Shakin Stevens, you would ignore this piece of advise and play new songs and not play your biggest hits

very suave indeed :wink3:

^agreed:wink3:

I don't love the hairy look though :(

here's a links for two new songs (live recordings but very good quality if you ask me :D)

Also, if you were Shakin' Stevens I would offer you my condolences.

Big big fan of their first album, lifechanging. Sams town is better live than on the album, couldn't really get into it. but alas - I saw them live at Leeds fest yesterday.

FUCKING AWESOME.

Brandon's presence on stage was something unexplicable, he didn't have to say anything,

wherever he walked you could see a thousand eyes just following him.

he seemed nervous too when he was talking to the crowd.

but it didn't reflect when he was singing, with such confidence.

I'm glad they finished with all these things I've done, hell of a song.

Spaceman sounded great live, can't wait to hear a studio version.

was anybody else at leeds or reading this last weekend?

Hey JD glad you had a great time, I was not in Leeds or Reading but I was in Dublin for both concerts there plus Budapest three days before, they just keep getting better and better, Brandon's voice was just awesome and they were all so happy. I had the chance to talk with Ronnie, the drummer, and he was so excited about their new album, he was glad people were already into Spaceman and he told me I really need to listen to the studio version..I just can't wait

is a video of Sweet Talk I made at Marlay Park :nice:

the rest is here, I'm gonna upload also the pics from the other two shows

i think Day and Age will be one of most highly anticipated albums of the year alongside Oasis' new stuff and metallica and kaiser chiefs.

just watched the Reading fest performance and the band is looking and sounding better than ever!!!

I saw them in Dublin last week and it was so amazing! Can't wait for the new album and also a new tour.

Were you at the small gig at the Academy?

That was just one of the best concerts I've ever been too, I think I will never see them again in such a small venue, plus most of the audience was part of their fan club and the band seemed really pleased with this :nice:

heck I can't decide between somebody told me and smile like you mean it.... I wish I had a bigger memory cards on my celphone

Wohooo other two fans, I feel less alone in here

@ricardo: if you're talking about using one of them as ringtone I'd go with Somebody Told Me

I love the killers! :D I can't wait for the new album! :D

Oh yes me too. I' m looking foward to their next tour:D

When I went to see Coldplay in Vegas they were their. I didn't believe it till I looked and about two rows back was Brandon Flowers...*sigh* I didn't know that there was going to be a new album...YAY!!!!:D

Yes Coldplay invited them to the show, and there was a blog by their "fifth" touring member about that night..apparently security didn't want to let them in :laugh3::laugh3:

Anyway..Day & Age should be released on November 24 in UK and 25 in the USA (we will have it three days before yay )..it's not 100% official, but late november can only mean that week, and Human is gonna be the first single :wacky:

I just can't wait
