MERDE!!! how can you say that, you are FRENCH!!!

this explains that :stunned:

in that interview they have spokn as if somebody had washed their brains

and i guess french audience don't like them :stunned:

from you i take that as a compliment:cool:

something being "overrated" simply means you don't like it as much as others. it's ridiculous, really.

yeah Air are cool

alot of NME bands are overrated, and seem to get more attention than their songs deserve. Plus, now that NME and MTV2 are best buds, and a lot of people finding new music from those places, there are more and more Average bands being hailed as more than that. although, that's just my opinion

oooooh I'm going to make some people angry with this thread.

These fit in the "they're doing things people did decades ago, who cares?" category

- The White Stripes

- The Strokes

- The Rapture

- The Darkness

The "Why do so many people worship these guys?" category (these are bands that I actually like)

- The Pixies

- The Cure

- Sonic Youth

- Pavement

Bands everybody else seems to love that I find exceedingly boring or embarrassingly derivative:

- Muse

- Modest Mouse

- Franz Ferdinand

- TV on the Radio

- Keane

- The Walkmen

I really get into music I don't like. :P

Pitchfork is over rated. For those of you that don't know.. it is a website that reviews albums and such, a lot of people think they are god.

My friend Eric quotes reviews from pitchfork. It's really annoying. :stunned:

Pitchfork is useful, they have new downloads once in a while, and its useful for finding new and interesting bands. I just find that the reviews are quite wordy and biased, for example, every Radiohead album will always get a good review just because they like them a lot, or the Wrens, I don't find them interesting at all.

Thanks to NME, there's a helluva lot of mediocre music being played on MTV2 right now. They're pretty much dedicated to bringing us what they think is "the best new music". The thing is, the new music they're playing at the moment is so incredibly dull.

Coincidentally, this wasn't a problem until the NME Chart Show began. How odd.

Anyway, yeah so over-rated bands:

The Darkness

Keane

Jet

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Franz Ferdinand

Muse (they're good, but really not anywhere near as special as everyone else seems to think)

Yeah Pitchfork's reviews are some of the most aggravating things in the world to read, and they give a lot of bad reviews for really stupid reasons. The new Mum, Liars, and Beta Band albums got (relatively) bad reviews because they sound too different from their earlier stuff, and the new Tortoise album got a (relatively) bad review because it sounds too much like their earlier stuff.

And yet I can't stop going there... I wish they'd stop posting news, then I'd have no reason to go there. :P

^^ 6 posts up, Tom Peed, i really Agree with you, apart from The Strokes, who i think have a good ability to write incredibley catchy melodies, and Pavement, simply for their Terror Twilight Album..i'd even send you that over the internet to try and convince you.. :wink3:
