Oh! Thanks Nick! I wanted to be there so bad, but, alas, I'm but a 17 year-old east coast dweller. :(

sigur rós will perform three songs live on bbc radio one’s zane lowe show on wednesday 26th april. the show airs between 7pm and 9pm. uk listeners can tune in as normal while those abroad will be able to listen to the broadcast online through the radio one website.

just wondering, anyone managed to record this one? :surprised:

Sigur Ros - ( ) (2002) [FLAC]\03 - Untitled #3 (Samskeyti).flac

This is the song I want to die to.

Playing piano, along with this song gives me goosebumps.

Guess where I just got back from.......... one of their concerts!

I will have to post the pics later. But all I can say is that it was phenomenal to say the least! I had chills and a racing heart the entire time. I was lucky enough to get right to the front on the right. Orri was on the drums directly in front of me! Gosh he is so slender. They all are! I could have stood there all night listening. My feet and toes went numb and I had several hot flashes where I thought I was going to feint, but my god it was worth it!

I don't really like the video...

I think it's pretty weird, their soncept is somehow getting overrated for me. I mean, now there's this kid being pursued by an octopus. That's the whole video, awesome...

No, seriously. They can make greater videos for their meaningiful songs. That's what I think.

They will never be a band that I absolutely LOVE. Their lack of comprehendable lyrics hurts them a bit in my opinion, but I do appreciate their music.

If they had comprehendable lyrics, I believe they would have a larger fan base and I'd take a greater liking to them as well.

Even with that said, they intrigued me so much, that I just could not pass up the opportunity to see them in Detroit at the State Theatre as I would be down in that area anyways earlier in the day. Even though the crowd was not that great (the silence duing one of their songs lasted about 2 seconds--stupid alcohol!) and other stupid comments were shouted. EVEN with a big tall guy with a halfro somehow always managing to be in my line of view, even when moving a few times within a 15 foot radius, and not being able to see that much of the band, I was able to enjoy the show greatly.

Their music still elicits great emotion and they put on a good show. I actually cried when I heard one of their songs. It is that beautiful. I don't have all of the song names memorized, because the Icelandic does not quite register with me and it's easy for me to forget the song names.

Great to hear that Marisa, I was not able to really see the drummer. My feet were getting numb too. IT was so worth it though, like you said.

I'm currently listening to Andvari live from Boston as my sister holds her cell phone aloft from her second row seats while I'm stuck in Georgia. I was very close to going, but my mother quickly stomped on the idea. :(

Luckily though, I have a sister that is quite awesome.

I absolutely LOVE sigur ròs.... and I'm looking forward to their concert here in italy! :o

I know it will be awesome, unbelieveble!

They are really great

Completely random note here but I never knew until yesterday that Jonsi was gay...

Got myself Agaetis Byrjun yesterday and I am loving it so far...Svefn-g-englar is just stunning. Might save up and go see them at Southampton Guildhall! Also, I might do Scandinavian Studies with my German course at university! I can study them some more! :D

i'm revisiting Agaetis Byrjun these days...amazing

...and it's still one of my favourite albums

I really don't care if he is or not. Thee only thing that bothers me about gay people is the fact that they bring out their fake ass little lisps. I understand the purpose behind it, but I don't really agree with it. For example, Ross the intern on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is kind of annoying with his over the top lisp. I've come across other gays too. It just bothers me. If you are gay, cool...no problem with that really, just don't hit on me, and be yourself. I am not a homophobe.

I want to get that, but I am going with Takk. I heard that Agaetis Byrjun is a great album though and got many into Sigur Ros.
