but i agree..there.. name.. "sigur ros".. is actually too odd... i still don't know how to pronounce it.. & i've seen this on "last.fm" .. that there name is pronounced "si-yur rhos" ..:wink3: .. i still can't say it either.. u know! :wacko:..

and well Lana, Sigur Ros means victory rose and the band is named after Jonsi's little sister which was born in the same time the band was "born" ill post a pic of her for you ;) and about the Pronunciation well i met an Icelandic girl in Hungary and she taught me how to say everything :P this could help.

^ I say 'brackets' alot.

 

Sometimes I say 'the cheesy poofs album' referring to the fat parentheses on the cover that look like cheesy poofs to me. :laugh3:

 

I used to call Ágætis Byjrun the 'alien baby album' until I learned how to pronounce it right (Ow-geye-tis Bur-un).

jónsi and his boyfriend alex will publish a picture book called ‘riceboy sleeps’ on friday, november 24th. the book will be for sale in selected book and music stores in reykjavík, such as smekkleysa, 12 tónar, mál og menning and kisan, and it is likely to be sold internationally in early 2007. on friday from 17:00 the guys will be holding an exhibition with selected pieces on display in gallerí turpentine on ingólfsstræti 5 in reykjavík. feel free to stop by. if you want to you could also check out the riceboy sleeps website at www.riceboysleeps.com.
