That's one of my passions in life. I think there was a thread about it, quite a long time ago, but I am not sure.

Nevertheless, I am not looking for it, If there is any. I just love the feeling photographs can give you; it's like the theatre, that for me it's just an extension of our lives, well pf our creativity really. I see photography in a quite a similar way.

I thought once on writing chronicles, because I took pictures, and the beautiful about them is that they tell a story by themselves, you don't need to be showing or watching 30 minutes on a screen to make a story based on them, so I thought it would be really nice to make stories based on pictures; Chronicles of pictures, but as I said, it was just a thought.

I got my manual camera, which is really old, and I'm really happy with it. I hate how modernity is invanding the cameras; they are all getting automatic and each day there are more digital cameras going around. That especial thing photography has is that you can take a picture and keep it for years and it will have a different smell, colours and sometimes texture, but the "principle" or picture remains the same; you can't have that with the digital cameras. It's like letters and emails; emails are faster and cheaper, but letters... they have feelings and you can keep them for years and years, unlike the emails.

From all photographs, the ones I love the most are the Black and White photographs. I think they have so much style, heart, personality and elegance. They are what I look is people, I guess

I love pics....I have a lot!.... :D ;)

...but I would like to do it professionaly...maybe when I finish my read faster course!

:D

can this be a post a nice picture you have taken thread?

Carla, i'm also interested in photography. My sister is studying photography in university and i have mostly all her prints all over my apartment. She does really nice black and white photos. She's even been published in an art magazine here in Toronto.

Sarah, your picture is great. I like landscape photos. :)

beautiful :)

I want to get into photography. I'm gonna have to get a camera first. And then, probably take a class. I can't decide if I want a digital cam, a manual one, or just get an advantix.

Maybe someday I'll take a class too.

As you probably read there, I'm not a fan of digital cameras. If you want to keep the pictures, and asign them values, as I do, do not get a digital camera. I love manual cameras, but you have to know how to use them, otherwise you are going to "loose" all your films, at least the first 5  The automatical cameras solve the "problem" or the encuadration (I suppose you say it like that!) and reduces the amount of "wrong" photos to nearly non, but they are restictive, at least that's what I think. That's why I love the manuals, which are more resistant and gives you total freedom, at least compared with the others!.

But If you going to take a class, you rather go with the manuals; they are the base of all and they'll teach you the "working process" of it, so you shouldn't have any problem after that. At least not mayor problems.

Laura, that must be so nice! I love the little black and white photographs, when they are like on a strip; there is a moderator from Pensylvannia here and she showed some pics of her on those "strips", I love them! I also like the negatives, but not the ones you get on the shops; the home made ones.

Your flat must be beautiful, at least that's what my imagination says :lol.

Thanks Kalter! :D

(Sorry but I didn't want to quote three times)

de nada

Do you speak Portuguese?

I like it.

I'm also into photography a little. I plan on studying it in college. I'm not a fan of digital cameras at all. Something is lost with digital pictures, I think.

Do you have any suggestions on what an amateur should begin with ( type of camera)? The thing that I think I would like about the manual ones is that you'd be able to play with it more than just an ordinary camera. You can kind of play with the digital ones, but I'm not sure it's the same as some of the more "old fashioned" cameras.
