coldplay fan sentence
The ghost thought to himself "poor you, now what you're gonna do ?" and decided to drink a glass of water, wondering if he'd see heaven in his. However, he only saw in it that whenever he'd try to pull her close, he'd disappear. Dismissing it as only superstition, he lay awake and dreamed of his escape.

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
Despite the fact that I dislike Ghost Stories as an album, I have to admit that Fly On was the only Coldplay song that literally made me shed tears (when he says "And I aaaaaaaalways look up to the sky") EDIT: By the way, I can't stress enough what an emotionally great band they are and how beautiful their music is...but for example recently I played the mp3 file "I ran away" to show someone, and this person said it's typically Coldplay in that it is background music....aaagh no, it is not !

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
It' s easy, just go to the New Thread button above the list where all threads of a subforum are posted ! That surely would be a great thread. Anyway, another lyric that resonates as sad with me, even though if you take a look at the sentence it's not that sad in itself (I can really relate a lot to Trouble). They spun a web for me

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I agree that based on the title I am pessimistic as well - especially since Chris said that he loved A Sky full of Stars and with the extremely bland feel-good song Miracles being their in-between albums song so based on the title I still suspect the album will lean towards "feel-good" and/or EDM music. Also, every title before GS had at least some mystery or abstraction in it - you never knew really what exactly those Parachutes, or X and Y or even Mylo Xyloto etc. were really referring to so I disliked the very plain and boring title "Ghost Stories", and "A Head full of Dreams" sounds exactly as plain and cliche to me. To illustrate my point, I mean....would you rather be intrigued by a book in the shelf called "Ghost Stories" or "Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends" ?

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
Lol, hope these people never come across music by Radiohead... Yes, they have the right balance between a melancholic way of perceiving the world and hope. It's beautiful. I tend to be on the melancholic side of seeing the world, too, so their earlier work really appeals to my feelings, like I can connect to it. I think the "early" Chris really was a sensitive person with a beautiful mind (not so sure about it right now, think he changed a lot). This is probably why they got so hugely popular, because everyone has these feelings and their lyrics can usually be applied to whatever you want them to be about.

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
Interesting. For me, Gravity is overall a very sad song too, but I never looked at it the way you did. I like your interpretation. In a Coldplay-typical way, though, the song is also full of hope. (and it has a great melody and Chris's voice at its best, I love it !)

Weird voice at the end of MX (song)
Hey, I wonder about this too every time I listen to MX. But it can't be "so cold so cold" because whatever he says (I think it's Chris's voice) has an "f" in it. Anyone got an idea ?

Cool, a rare name. And I'd never have thought based on your profile pic that you are female (me too, btw) :D OK, this thread went off-topic unbelivably quickly...lol

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
i didnt know there had been a leak ! but now that i'm on this forum i'll surely be informed early about any leaks concerning AHFOD :D Batman, you're called Thalia ? :)
-
Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
Really, Batman ? The separation was anounced weeks before the album came out, so that some album reviews even suspected that this timing was planned by Coldplay's marketing section. But i mean the official album release, so maybe you already had a leak or something?

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
oh yes, right... Just listened to GS and remembered two very sad ones from True Love and O (for this one especially in combination with the music, admittedly): Tell me you love me If you don't, then lie to me And I'll always look up to the sky (...) Fly on, right through, maybe one day I can fly with you

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
I was just wondering what the saddest lyrics that Coldplay have ever written are ? What immediately comes to my mind are the lines from Prospekt's March/Poppyfields: I don't wanna die on my own here tonight But here I lie on my own in a separate sky What are the saddest lyrics for you ?

I know it's been more than 10 years, but maybe we can revive this cool thread ? So how do I feel right now ? "I have no doubt, one day the sun will come out"
