Now let's just hope the new material is a harbinger of whats to come for the rest of AHFOD.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
August will be full of trepidation and excitement as we eagerly await the purported first single. I for one can't wait.

Answer a question with a song.
My Sugar Spun Sister What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?

If Miracles was a sign of things to come from LP7....
If I could thumbs this up a million times I would. Perfectly sums it up.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
They would if they knew it would bring traffic to their website. The Sun is very sensationalist and I'd take everything you read there with a MASSIVE grain of salt. 90% of it is just clickbait rubbish.

I think my main problem with both Atlas and Miracles are that they are both commercial products who's complete existence is to bolster another commercial product. Look at Don't Panic in Garden State, A director listened to a stand-alone artistic creation and judged it to parallel his own artistic creation. That's how bands music should be used in film. This 'fabrication for hire' stuff doesn't sit well with me at all.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
^^ Agreed. Am I the only one who doesn't want any lyrics involving stars on A Head Full of Dreams? :laugh3:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Categorization is useful to a point, We tend to categorize AROBTTH as rock and GS as pop and this is because of a clear stylistic shift between those two records. But yes. Once it sounds great, is memorable and has meaning I could care less.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I don't know if I would agree with that, I'd call a lot of what was on VLV rock such as Lost! LIJ etc. Even MX has a rock edge to it. I'd definitely call tracks like Hurts like Heaven, ETIAW rock even if they do happen to flirt with pop.

If Miracles was a sign of things to come from LP7....
Not sure is the answer. In one way, yes Miracles-esque is better than ASFOS/Collaborations galore but in an ideal world , Miracles sounding songs just wouldn't do it for me. Miracles is the best of a bad lot during this era, I hope it will sound a lot more like Oceans, All your friends and Ghost Story which are infinitely superior.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I predict we'll get a lot of strings on the album as well. Whether they'll act as a buttress or feature prominently is anyone's guess.

Chris's Clothes
It's very reminiscent of the AROBTTH era imo. It doesn't have to be the exact same clothes to capture the essence of the style. You could do something extremely similar at a fraction of the price.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Miracles was fine, a bit bland however. I think it had the potential to be a great Coldplay tune but falls short, mainly in the production department. It's clear that Stargate have little to no experience in this genre and as a result we got something that was overly polished and over produced. When you're listening and the production is what you notice and not the music, that's when production has gone too far. I hope AHFOD won't follow a similar trend With all the rumors at present its hard to even keep track of them all.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Definitely not the end, the only way I can fathom it being the last album if it gets highly critically praised, adoration levels akin to AROBTTH. Mr. Noel Gallagher summed it up during the MX era fairly well [video=youtube;BYZwNwFBUEE] and here we are four years later awaiting the next album. Coldplay shall live on.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Well we don't know if it's true or not, but they have probably have had the song awhile so it would be only a matter of recording it. But yeah, If this does turn out to be true lets hope the quality isn't affected by rushing to make a release date.
-
Chris piano vs guitar?
I'd love to see some more guitar if I'm honest. A mixture to achieve a happy medium is ideal, but I felt as if we didn't get enough guitar work on GS.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
"Coldplay are having an emergency recording session in Los Angeles in order to get the first single finished. It will be released in mid-late August. It will have its live debut at the Global Citizen Festival in New York City. They will announce a European arena tour in October which will happen in late November/early December. The album will be released in November. They will tour the world and do Glastonbury next year. I work with someone who is close to the band." Let's hope that's true. An arena tour of the UK and Ireland would be very much appreciated

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
