  1. Careful Where You Stand is great ;) I vote Bigger Stronger.
  2. I'll be very interested in hearing the tracks Phil Tan has produced based on the artists he has previously worked with.
  3. What about Oceans?
  4. I wish Coldplay would Be Here Now ;)
  5. It's very Radiohead-esque. Reminds me a lot of Subterranean Homesick Alien. Very underrated Parachutes song imo. You can hear the Beatles influence there aswell :) Glorious
  6. I have my day off Monday so I hope the Coldplayer instinct is correct.
  7. Please ignore Mr. I Ran Away please ;) Shiver must go.
  8. Welcome! Always great to have new Coldplayers on board :)
  9. Not really. Al Gore got more votes :P
  10. Vox has ranked all 40 songs and guess where they have placed Paradise? Drum roll please........ The grand reveal: LAST! :freak: Even Justin Timberlake got a higher billing :veryangry2: http://www.vox.com/2015/8/14/9155361/barack-obama-spotify-summer-playlist-ranked
  11. Parachutes and AROBTTH are definitely not concept albums (In my honest opinion)
  12. I agree. I'm conflicted on whether AHFOD will be a concept album because Chris has said that AHFOD "will be the day to GS night" and that would suggest a continuation of a story but on the other hand they're not really known to do the same thing twice.
  13. Stripped back in prose, tone and atmosphere maybe but the album (for the most part save Oceans, O) was very over produced with the synths droning over Jonny's guitar, Avicii EDM piano, Electronic drum kit etc.
  14. Yeah, It's quite obvious GS and MX are concept albums considering Chris has said this (A little more obvious with MX considering there was a series of comics and all ) I personally dislike concept albums on the basis it ruins personal relation and interpretation of the songs, As Noel Gallagher says it ruins the listening experience. There's no discovery whatsoever.
  15. The production on GS is hardly "stripped-back" in fairness, more like "over-done" The only similarity is the electronic drum kit.
  16. Don't Panic 17 Politik 16 Daylight 8
  17. I don't think any interpretation is 'wrong' or 'right'. It's not black and white like that, Music is an art form and like any art form is open to multiple interpretations. Although I don't necessarily view VLV as a concept album, certain overarching themes and motifs are present such as war, revolution, dialectic change etc. Although I think the most literal interpretations are best for most of the songs (Yes being a song about a man's lust and desire, Violet Hill being an anti war protest song, VLV being told from the point of view of King Louis XVI etc) I also like to think of the battle like imagery as a poignant metaphor for Coldplay themselves, as they battled to push themselves to new limits an attempt to innovate a new sound/image for themselves. While the motif of revolutions symbolizes a radical departure from their past records.
  18. I swear to God I think producers have a perverse pleasure in stringing the fans along
