  1. I don't think you do to be honest. I'm sure your sister would have tried to find another job a long time ago if your mum wasn't paying the rent.
  2. What you're saying makes sense but they probably won't listen to you because you're quite young. Also it's your mum's flat so it's her decision at the end of the day. She should talk to them and tell them how much she's struggling. I don't think they should be living with you with they don't at least try to find a job (as in another part-time job so they have a regular income) so they can contribute towards the rent.
  3. She's too cute, I love her blue eyes.
  4. He's so beautiful  We had a Golden Retriever when I was a child, they're amazing dogs.
  5. I think her problem is that she isn't qualified for any of the jobs she would like to do.
  6. Maybe you could get a part-time job as a sales advisor and volunteer at local school. My friend did that when she was still at uni and they offered her a job as a teaching assistant after she graduated. Also you might be able to study part-time.
  7. Interesting. They're probably about the same then? Do you think you're gonna live on campus for three years though? Because I think most people live in a shared housesin their second and third year. It might be different if it's a campus uni though, I don't really know. If you are gonna use the tube, it's very expensive. I paid £780 for the year, I think. I don't live close to my uni because the area is very expensive (Bloomsbury) and most people who live in student accommodation that is close to my uni pay about £170 a week. Anyway feel free to ask me if you got any questions about living and studying in London. You might wanna check out the student room. You can get quite useful advice there but most people on there are a bit obsessed with league tables.
  8. You might wanna check the league tables if you haven't already done that but I'd say York is probably the most prestigious one. Don't just look at general league tables also look at the ones for your subject. Having said that, it's really important that you're actually happy with your uni course and I think it's important that you actually like the city. You should definitely try to visit all of these places. Also look at the course description because it really matters where you're going. I haven't been to any of those universities but I know someone who went to Queen Mary and he loved it there. London is a great place to study but it is very expensive. QM is part of the University of London so you'll probably have access to the libraries of the other universities and you can also go to the British Library. I'm not gonna lie though, I haven't been to any of the other university libraries but I will probably use them when I'm writing my dissertation. Good luck with your decision!
  9. Disappointing. This one's so much better! I don't like Valentine's Day. Haven't got any plans really, at least the Champions League's back tomorrow.
  10. Oh yeah definitely. You have to be honest with him. I just meant that he might have cried because he was upset rather than to make her feel bad so asking him why he'd want to be with someone who doesn't love him anymore might make things even worse.
  11. ^ What did you decide to get? I really want an iMac but I can't really justify buying one because I already have a laptop which works fine and I'm not working at the minute. Then again, I'll be spending loads of time writing essays in the next few months so it would probably be worth it.
  12. Sounds pretty harsh to be honest. He might be genuinely upset.
  13. Its pretty cold, 3C according to my phone
  14. I think it depends on the subject area. The computing department at my university let us use Wikipedia as a reference.
  15. Btw Technicolor Sparks (sorry I don't know your name), I'm not trying to put you off, I think you should go. I've been out many times and it's only ever happened once. Don't worry, most people aren't particularly good at dancing. I don't think anyone cares when you're going to a club, most people will be too drunk to notice anyway. Hope you have a good time with your friends!
  16. My friend's drink got spiked once. I have no idea how it happened, she was pretty much sober (we only had like two drinks) and it was just the two of us. I think it might have happened at the bar but I was with her when we got the drinks and neither of us saw anything. She locked herself in the toilet and I proper started freaking out because she was in there for like half an hour and I kept screeming her name but she didn't say anything. Someone eventually opened the door and it turned out that she had passed out. It was a very scary experience but she was fine in the end.
  17. Well if you're scared of flying, you might wanna take some tablets to calm you down about two hours before the flight. Here in the UK we have Kalms which you can get from from most pharmasies. You should also take a good book or your laptop/ iPad with so you don't get bored as much and you won't be thinking about the fact that you're on a plane all the time.
  18. I agree with the school. She'd probably regret it when she's older.
  19. Well what do you need it for? If you're only ever gonna use it at home, an iMac might be better for you. It can still be nice to have a laptop though so you can move it around and use it in bed etc. but you might not need one if you already got an iPad which good enough for browsing the Internet.
  20. Take your old iPod to the Apple Store first, they might be able to fix it. I don't really know if it's worth getting a second hand one. I was looking at second hand iPads on eBay a few weeks ago and they're still very expensive. I wouldn't take the risk unless it was very cheap but maybe I'm just being paranoid.
  21. Thought I'd post this in here since there's no iPad thread. Got an iPad for Christmas and I love it so far. It's much better than my laptop for watching films and for browsing the internet. Anyway, I've downloaded Pages and I'm not quite sure how to use it. Does anyone know how to save documents in Pages? Also is Pages on the iPad compatible with Pages 2009? How do I share documents without using iCloud? Still haven't upgraded to Lion so I can't use it properly.
  22. 79 feet according to Wikipedia
  23. As much as I love Macs, a Windows PC is probably the better choice if you're into computer games because a lot of games don't have a Mac version.
  24. I might be kind of awkward because they've only met once? I definitely wouldn't invite a guy to my work Christmas party after just one date. I'm not saying you're completely wrong though. I do think it's a bit strange. I mean you could always meet up during the week if you really wanted to see someone.
  25. Siri's male in England. Dunno you could say either I guess. It works pretty well if you ask questions and there's no background noise. It would be amazing if it could actually type your messages for you but it doesn't really work (tried it a few times on my friend's phone).
