'white shadows' reminds me of 'god put a smile upon your face'.

the old talk told a much more interesting story lyrically and the vocals were very haunting against the moody beat. the revised talk doesn't make much sense to me...i mean i get it -- but i don't care. i'm not interested in the lyrics at all. you can climb a ladder up to the sun, or sing a song that nobody has sung, or do something that's never been done i hate that line the very most. it's so basic. i do enjoy the powerful chorus the new version has. it's really pumpin. but, i think overall the old one was more interesting.

i'll tell you what makes the album cold and impersonal -- the use of spoons!! haha. i like the synth, just get those spoons the fuck out of the album. i can't take 'low' seriously at all now thanks to the spoon solo.

^^ i'm not sure about how long it will last, but it's going to definitely have a very good solid week.

if there was ever a band who couldn't take bad criticism it's got to be coldplay, or at least it's got to be its frontman. chris martin probably won't take any of the negative press over the album well. he's far too nice and far too anxious about what everyone thinks. but who cares. it's not our job to cushion the blow. you can't expect to make a masterpiece every time you drop a record. they made an album that THEY are happy with and are proud of, that's all that matters.

oh people rag on me all the time, but it's all lighthearted jabs. my ex-boyfriend and his roommates had a field day with my liking for coldplay.

hmmm, i can agree with some of the comparisons except for the one about it flopping in sales. i sincerely doubt the numbers will disappoint.

i can see why critics are picking on the lyrical content of X&Y. i know everyone else seems to like them, but i find some of them downright dreadful. you put me on a shelf and kept me for yourself. i can only blame myself. ??? that's a pretty uninspired lyric. i dunno, that's my problem with the album. musically i think it's great (apart from the effin' use of spoons) but lyrically...gah - chris is so capable of more in my opinion.

haha! omg that's so funny. i always collected the stamps, but never bothered using them so i don't really care that they are going to stop doing that. i just feel bad for my ex-boyfriend and his roommates. that's all they ate last year. his one roommate stole a huge roll of them and they basically lived off of that for at least 2 or 3 months. haha when they'd play poker he'd use the stamps when he ran out of money. ahhh good times.

it's so not worth it justine. honestly. it doesn't even matter that coldplay would look like ants from my seats...i didn't take the tickets based on the sound quailty. i want to feel the bass rumble down my spine. you don't get that at the acc.

i love it. i absolutely love it when ONE person thinks they know so much more about music then everyone else and they believe it is their duty to let people know how much they don't know about music. the self-righteous are always the most entertaining. now let's all thank the nice man for taking time out of his busy day of doing [hopefully] much more important things that actually matter and teaching us all how wrong we've been...pfff liking music purely based on our own opinions and thoughts of what's good -- what were we thinking!!??
