funny someone should bring up this point because i myself has said similar things. i mean i was pretty unimpressed with X&Y, let's be honest -- but if that had been some unknown group and you handed me X&Y i'd probably have really enjoyed it and thought it was great. but because i know where coldplay's been, it's hard to enjoy where they seem to be going.

haha, yeah i've always wondered about that part of the unreleased talk. i always her 'i'm up as a pilot flying' but i know that's wrong.

^^^ agreed. buckland's fancy geetar work makes a lot of the songs bareable.

i dunno, my problem was i thought i could compare the two albums...and when i did that x&y basically equaled toliet paper. i'm just taking each album for what it is. x&y is a little different, pretty light. a rush is emotional and dark at times. i enjoy them both, but i love a rush so much more.

gah, still loving their album to death. i am sorely regretting missing the chance to see them live last april. they came to my weee town and played a small club and i didn't go because i had an exam. IDIOT. haha.

i searched to see if there was a thread about these guys and didn't see one so i figured i'd get the ball rolling. i just sort of randomly found out about these guys (saw their video for 'apply some pressure' in american eagle a few months ago and went straight home to d/l everything by them), i adddore their sound. i checked out their tour schedule on their website and it looks like their doing a buttload of shows opening for the bravery (which would be such a fucking great concert!! i juuuust saw the bravery a few weeks ago! wish maximo had been there then) anyway, they are great. hope others agree!

^^ aren't those two albums both the same, just different covers? i have the first album posted there and the other one (i feel like it's self titled) the cover has a scribbly drawing of matt hales on it. both are pretty good, but i wish i had known he would release a US/CAN album with the best of both 8 months after i bought them. coulda saved a shitload. import albums oh too damn pricey.

okay, i keep getting confused. people tell me dasboard confessional is just the one guy and then other people SWEAR it's a band. i don't know what to believe. i like db mostly for their lyrics. i think their pretty interesting.

i think 'annie waits' is probably one of my favourite ben folds songs. it's just so calming.

i dunno about all time, but some songs that i've adored for an extended period of time in my life include: 'barely breathing' duncan sheik 'my happiness' powderfinger

john mayer is a big, big fan of coldplay. he's been quoted quite a few times saying how great they are. i know drew barrymore and her strokes drummer boyfriend (i won't attempt to spell his name) have been spotted at coldplay concerts.

and also i don't even know which album to buy? what would you guys recommend, i was thinking 'the last broadcast' but are the other two better options?

i am freakin' in love with the doves. i think 'there goes the fear' is like my life theme at the moment. just love it. i keep going to buy their cd, but hot damn are they ever pricey. 18.99 being the lowest i've seen so far.

i am so stoked for their toronto show. i can't wait for saturday morning to come already so i can snatch up some tickets. i've been dying to see them ever since their last concert at the docks. yayaya.

i kind of wish i was into this whole harry potter craze. it seems like fun. one friend bought it at midnight and was up to 6:30am finishing it. i know some people might be disappointed with the new book, but i've got to say when you make a series of 7 novels you can't expect every volume to be amazing. i'm pretty impressed that j.k rowling had enough ideas to stretch it out that long. kudos.

yeah, i can see the song being about hearing about becoming a father...whether or not it's actually about that it's a good guess. i dunno, i got a whole 'look at what a state the world is in brother' vibe when i heard the new talk. i much prefered the old verson's lyrics.

yeah, i enjoy 'a whisper' too. especially the last 50 seconds or so.

i'm still not sure of what the first few lines of the title track X&Y are...i thought i was hearing trying hard to speak and fighting with my weak hand but i think i'm wrong.
