RESULTS! COLDPLAYING'S FAVORITE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME!!!!!
^^exactly. And they left a lot of tracks on their albums they weren't very proud of, just as filler. It was usually better than just filler because they were the Beatles, but they still thought of it as just filler. Most modern bands wouldn't dare do that, they would wait for a better song. And the Beatles had 3 brilliant songwriters in the band instead of the usual one, so it makes sense that they would come up with 2 or 3 times as many songs. And for all their creativity, they didn't spend very long actually recording any one track. Nowadays because modern technology makes it so much easier to obsess over every millisecond of every piece of a track, many bands will do just that, spending months playing around with layers. In the 60's it was unusual to spend more than about 10 or 12 hours on a difficult song, much less for a simple one. ...So when are we getting the rest of the list?

Sharpe
What, it can't be both? :laugh3: Personally I think it's an interesting historical series made 100x better than the average one by the opportunity to drool over Sean Bean. Either option would not be nearly as good without the other to make it that much better. That's a niiice birthday present. :nice: I'm a little jealous. I probably wouldn't have done nearly as well in history class back in highschool if it wasn't for Sharpe.

Is this illegal?
It depends on local bylaws. It isn't illegal on any grand scale. Some places you need permits, others it's fine to just start playing somewhere. As I understand it in places where it isn't so legal they'll usually just ask you to move along. Local research is your friend.

NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
Prospekt is the one who had been giving us studio updates for the last year or so. He has very distinctive handwriting and talks about all the Coldplay guys like he's known them for quite some time. I still think he's Phil Harvey.

VIVA LA VIDA BREAKS THE ICE !!!!
Holy crap! VLV just made Violet Hill pop! :shocked2: I listened to VLV yesterday, couldn't quite get my head around it although it sounded nice, listened today, and all of a sudden got this picture from the lyrics of a Napoleon clone pushing a broom on some street and talking about how he was happy anyway. Then I listened to VH again, because I hadn't in a bit and all of a sudden the context seemed different, I just got the song in a different way. Huge images. Epic. I think they're right, this album is going to be like a movie with a whole internal story, and if just two songs playing off each other can bring it to life this much, I can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

THE FRENCH REVOLUTION WAS BAD
^My point exactly. :D You need to be logged in to do this. At the top of your screen just above all the threads, there is a little bar that says "User CP, FAQ, Members List, Gallery, Calendar", ect. Click on User CP. You will see a control panel down the left side of the screen. Buddy / Ignore lists is near the bottom. Click on that. Add the name of the person you want to ignore to the box in the ignore section. Life should now be happy again :wacky:

How do people have so many posts?
Bling was points you got for things like posts (the more letters you used the more bling you got), starting threads... stuff like that. You could give your bling away- often as a way of thanking people for stuff, you could trade it, or you could use it in some casino thing that used to be around. In some ways it was sort of like the thanks we have now.

RESULTS! COLDPLAYING'S FAVORITE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME!!!!!
^huh. Well at least they made the top ten. So if Sigur Ros and Arcade Fire are already accounted for, then who is in the top? There's the Beatles, Radiohead, Muse, and of course Coldplay. Has Interpol made an appearance yet? What about Travis or Keane? Hmm... no U2 yet...

I didn't miss bling until it was gone. And now it was kind of cool. But we really don't need spam incentives, do we?

THE FRENCH REVOLUTION WAS BAD
Prince William. Right. :freak: Uh... so why of all the princes is the cute one the antichrist again? You know what never mind. You just lost the right to ever have me listen to a single word you say again- this thread makes my head hurt too much. And they're spelled guillotine and Napoleon, for the record. Oh, and the past tense of to happen is happened. For anyone who isn't familiar with the feature, if someone is annoying you or making you upset, you can always add them to your ignore list so you never have to see their posts again. It's very useful. :)

What are "tabla machines"?
Been wondering that myself. This is what a tabla is apparently. A tabla machine seems to be a beatbox of tabla sounds. Like this

The Album To Remember Them By...
So why does every single negative (or positive) opinion for any given thing warrant a brand new thread again? I have no problem with people voicing their opinions around here, but seriously, there are already threads. You don't have to try to yell louder than everyone else.
