  1. cause nothing they
  2. Yup, I feel the same - without relentless promotion, it won't do anywhere near as well as Paradise :(
  3. 1: Up With The Birds 2: Death and all his Friends/The Escapist 3: Amsterdam 4: Twisted Logic/Til Kingdom Come 5: Everything's not Lost / Life is for Living All are pretty damn good though.
  4. Oh man, I just can't do it. Every single album has an amazing opener!
  5. DLIBYH and Viva la Vida (LRLRL version)
  6. I think mine would be The Scientist. It means so much to me, and I remember when I first listened to it properly...it seemed to really touch me like no other song had. I remember listening to a lot in 2004 when my mother died. It seemed to help me more than anything else. (</cheesy> :P) Politik is a close second (although musically, their absolute best). It's everything I love about Coldplay - spine tingling crescendos, deep and meaningful lyrics, and a haunting melody. I don't think any other song in the world comes close to the perfection of the last two minutes. Also near the top spot is Fix You, Charlie Brown, DLIBYH and Square One.

Went to see them in the O2 this year - I knew it'd be amazing, and I was quite concerned I'd got my hopes up and will be let down...but I was still amazed when they come on with MX/Hurts like Heaven. It was one of the best nights of my life, and I'm seeing them again in the Emirates stadium this year :D
  8. Personally I think MX is miles ahead of Viva. Viva just sort of seemed like they were trying way too hard to fit into the 'military' style theme of the album, and for it to be as different as possible from X&Y (which I think is great). I think Viva was a crucial album to the development of Coldplay though.
  9. As much as I LOVE the song, the studio version leaves a bit to be desired for me. Pretty much every single performance of it live is absolutely beautiful...and I just can't pick a finger on what's wrong with the studio version :(
  10. Probably the best claim to fame I'll ever have :P
  11. Didn't think so at first, but now I think it's certainly a contender. It's basically classic Coldplay, but incorporating everything they've learnt over the past few albums. And I think it definitely is THE best song live. The only disappointment with it is I think the studio version could have been much better. Without comparing it to the live versions, it's great - but Johnny's guitar sounds lifeless and dull on the studio recording, and Chris' vocals (especially the 'Light a fire' bit) don't convey the epicness. In comparison to the live versions anyway!
  12. They need to come to Cardiff - we have a huge stadium which I just know they'd fill :)
  13. Man, quite depressing that it was a week today - I'd love to experience it again, best night of my life!
  14. Just bought tickets for this off eBay...went to the O2 arena concert last Friday, and I'm already aching for more Coldplay :D
  15. Sort of makes me sad that Guy (and possibly Will) didn't seem too comfortable performing :( But in the end I think it was a great move. I know it's sort of appealing to a new generation of teens, but it's not like they're changing their music for that - it's still the Coldplay we know and love. And because of this performance, my Facebook/Twitter has exploded with people amazed by the performance - sort of feel like saying 'I told you so!'
  16. Back in 2002, I heard 'Trouble' on a music TV channel - for some reason, I got it confused with a So Solid Crew song and thought it was utter shit. A year later, a good friend sends me 'The Scientist' and I hated it. A few months later, I decide to listen to it again...and wow. Ever since I've been pretty much obsessed :P The Scientist has to be my favourite song ever now.
  17. What an amazing show - it was my first Coldplay concert, even my girlfriend who isn't really a fan thought it was amazing and was singing along. Them guys know how to put on a show! I think the highlight for me was hearing MX start, then HLH...it was just surreal to me
  18. Anyone else have an email from Ticketmaster about the runtime for tomorrow? For anyone who didn't here's what I had: 1 hour and 45 minutes seems a bit longer than the ones from last week - can we expect DLIBYH/Christmas Lights or am I living in hope?:P
  19. Even though the setlist leaves a bit to be desired (No DLIBYH/Christmas Lights/LiT II makes me a bit sad), I really can't wait. Just 4 more days :) one thing I know for sure is that Charlie Brown is going to be epic...
  20. Good to see some setlist changes :) but I demand DLIBYH!
  21. When do you guys reckon we'll know the planned setlist? I'm seeing them in the O2 in December and I'm hoping for some setlist changes - I'm pretty sick of hearing Lost and In My Place to be honest!
  22. Parachutes: Shiver AROBTTH: The Scientist X&Y: Fix You VLV: Death and all His Friends...although I'd love to pick LIT II MX: So hard as pretty much every song is extremely strong, but it's between HLH, CB and DLIBYH
  23. Swallowed in the Sea, A Message, What If, Things I Don't Understand...well, anything off X&Y and every X&Y b-side. Such great music and it's a pity Coldplay let the negative comments about X&Y get to them :( Other than them: For You, Crests of Waves, Sparks, Daylight, A Whisper and Spies
