  1. AWESOME. Sounds basically about being kind of like that line in Fix You "when you were too in love to let it show" being wrapped up so much in looking for something that you forget to enjoy life.

I'd call it something like Aftermath or So Short
  3. cracking stream, highly recommend it to everyone, not just some god-awful idea.
  4. ^Yay, a normal person! :D
  5. Watch it shoot back up there when the VLV video is released thoughh :]
  6. Lol that version of The Scientist, especially the second part, almost sounds like it has the Lost! drums in the background :D
  7. Oh man, where to start? Questions of science, science and progress, do not speak as loud as my heart You know that feeling where things only make sense as a feeling. Sometimes, everything else should be discounted. When you were too in love to let it show This happens so often to me; I get too in love with a person to let them know or so in love that I forget to show them that and drown in them. And the truth is that they usually want to know! Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, and everything you do People forget that this song is lyrical genius. I have tried for years and years to write a line so simple that says so much about how I feel about someone...it never works. Give me love over, love over, love over this This should be like, the world motto or something. Oh what good is it to live with nothing left to give, forget but not forgive, not loving all you see And every breath that you take could be your biggest mistake; it could bend and it could break, but that's just the risk that you take I don't wanna battle from beginning to end, I don't want a cycle of recycled revenge, I don't wanna follow death and all of his friends One day, we're gonna get out Don't you wanna curve away?
  8. You're trying to claim Coldplay influenced Death Cab? Death Cab formed in 1997 and if you check out Gibbard's older stuff you'll see that the skeleton of their sound was already there. They're one of the most untouched (and untouchable) bands in the world. You have a point with Snow Patrol's 'Eyes Open' but 'Final Straw' was incredibly unique. And yes, Keane are just a copy. You also say they will never pass U2, but are 'the best rock band ever'. Are U2 not a rock band?
  9. 1: No. They're the best pop band this decade. They're not rock; thinking so shows you have a very narrow understanding of music. If you include bands that aren't rock bands, Death Cab for Cutie still beat them. And if you don't, Mayday Parade or Jimmy Eat World win. 2: See above. Also see: Switchfoot, Bloc Party, Dashboard Confessional, Interpol, Snow Patrol. 3: Definitely. See the fact that they were nominated for a mercury award for Parachutes, and that now everybody thinks the album is safe. The point is that it wasn't close to safe or easy at the time, it just became such a popular style of music that looking back on it it seems that way. 4: They've always been better than U2, they'll always be struggling with Radiohead (because the very fact that they're influenced by them and that Radiohead are such a trailblazing band means they'll always be half copying where they see Yorke's gang as an influence) and A-ha are shit.
  10. 1. First related Coldplay memory? Lying on my bed at summer schol in 2004, with my iPod mini on shuffle, when Yellow comes on. I've heard of Coldplay, I've heard the song, but I've never listened before. At the time I was seeing an incredible girl with purple hair. The following morning when I woke up I scribbled "And you were all purple" all over the pad I was using the previous day. ALL over it. And I got the chance to sing it to her on the last day :] 2. Have you ever seen the band live in concert, if so where? December, Sheffield Arena :] the single thing I'm looking forward to in life atm. 3.a Favorite Coldplay album? A Rush/DAAHF b. Favorite Coldplay song? DAAHF/The Escapist OR Amsterdam OR Proof OR Politik OR VLV c. Favorite Coldplay video? Fix You. The crowd vocals on the promo give me shivers. 4. Most treasured Coldplay item in your collection? A Secret Santa gift which is artwork of Chris kind of embossed in blue on a black background. Really special. And I don't know how rare. 5. What was your craziest fanatic moment regarding Coldplay (ie. did you have to go at great lengths to see them live? did you do something really dramatic to defend Coldplay? etc etc.) Staying in the night of the leak and listening to the album over and over. Having listened to VLV (song) 93 times between its becoming available on iTunes and the album leak. Just generally knowing FAR to much about the band!
  11. Jokes aside, I've been a fan since 2002 :]
  12. OK, that's settled. All Coldplay fans are 19-26. Except 1. Poll closed.
  13. After seeing clips from MSG with LIT opening, with that light show and that atmosphere, I think it's definitely the best opener they have. Certainly more gut-wrenching than Square One and just more creative than Politik as the opening track to a gig. Anyone disagree?
  14. Sorry to burst your bubble. Coldplay are British. They have not produced an album about US politics. Everything is not about your country :/
  15. How can you imply someone's uneducated in the same post that you spell 'they' with an 'a' and not be embarrassed for existing?
  16. Reign of Love is never going to pull any trees up but it's necessary in the context of the album because Lovers into Yes is just a ridiculous change otherwise. I think The Escapist rounds the album off perfectly. It brings the sound down and compliments DAAHF well. CSC is not my favourite on the album but I still always play it.
  17. Warning Sign would be better than Fix You live. Every person in the arena singing, "When the truth is, I miss you..." *shivers*
  18. Haha thanks. Does it count as plagiarism?
  19. Was a long and dark December After leaves fell in November We were kissing in September And we talked all night in May It was harder come October But the grey clouds passing over Kept us delicate and sober And I want to feel that way Haha.
  20. You seem to have the unbelievably arrogant perspective that because you've just realised you don't like the album everyone else should instantly do the same. The reason it has 32 COMPLETE listens on MY iTunes is not because I'm trying to like it. It's because I love it.

I'll tell you what, it stands out a lot more in better quality on the actual CD. Actually made me sit up and go, "Wow, this sounds so much better!".
  22. I mean this with all the respect in the world. I would hate to have your taste in music.
