I LOVE the drum beat/loop/drum machine in this. It kicks serious arse.
  2. Absolute wnkrs saying they can't live on £32,000 a year. I know a few people who'd be f**king ecstatic at earning that, greedy pricks.
  3. I agree that song F**KING ROCKS! Will's drums!!! Ahhhh, so good. Where do you start to explain why this song is so good? I have no idea, but I know it's just incredible. La la la la la.......
  4. Tegan and Sara - these girls are soooo amazing!!! Go and listen to them, right now!
  5. I loved Chris's "Radio 1" jingle at the very end of Lovers In Japan :D
  6. I remember Chris saying something like, "Most bands are reluctant to tell people who they steal ideas from - we're shameless in that respect". I think he said that on Storytellers :D
  7. AHHHHH, thanks for the link, huge excitement! How did I miss that mention of Will singing?!
  8. What?! How do you know that Will sings that mysterious song?!

Some parts of it I have to actually laugh at in disbelief at it's amazingness. When I heard the gorgeous catchy chorus, "You thought you miiiight be a ghooost" I was like, "WTF, this is so amazing how do they do it?!"It seems like it's out of place and it shouldn't work at all, but it does and it fits perfectly. When I first read that line in Rolling Stone I didn't expect it to sound like that AT ALL. And Jonny's guitar before that chorus, and the "you didn't get to heaven but ya ohhhh oh oh ohhhh oh oh", ahhhhhhhhh stupendous! This makes me smile so much. Argh, and the contrast of the joyous melody there to the quiter "Those who are dead..." and Jonny's apocalyptic guitar and Will's drums after that. WOAH, amazing.

Amen to that!!! I've been thinking this for ages - if you don't like them then get over it and stop talking about them. Lord knows the last thing I'd want to do if there's a band I don't like is waste my time to write 'up-myself' blogs and reviews about them to convince myself I don't like them and take every opportunity I get to slag them off. Wnkrs. Rant over, I'm happy again now :D xxx
  11. To those that don't think Viva is very different to their previous albums - what planet are you on?! The atmosphere, soundscape and whole vibe is totally different to anything else they've done in the past. And yes I agree there isn't a single filler on here - every song stands out as being ridiculously amazing.
  12. I want to learn Viva La Vida. I got the chords off musicnotes.com and had a go on piano and it sounds great :D
  13. They're off to America soon to finish the recording and to mix/master it I think.
  14. Was that possibly the official EPK for the album?
  15. I think he means the actual lyrics for LIT, the ones we'll hopefully hear next year.
  16. One of my tickets, the one I got off TicketMaster, was delivered this morning!
  17. I can imagine Viva being even more stunning in an arena full of people singing along, with the magic balls and lights etc. Will's drums were so amazing in Violet Hill - I'm guessing those gunshot effects were played back too, unless Will's snare has some trigger device inside it :P
  18. Hmm lol, what were they saying? Great performance by Coldplay btw.
  19. It doesn't start for another 15 minutes...
  20. So excited to hear Viva La Vida! :D
  21. Hahaaa, what a f**king amazing song 42 is :D
  22. Phil I'm guessing you work at 6music? What job do you do exactly - just wondering :P
  23. HMV only had the gatefold version, it was £8.99, I guess the difference in price isn't that much. I had to wait all day to actually listen to it, having bought the CD at 9am, as I was at a tennis tournament all day, so it was agonising when my best friend kept texting me saying, "OMG it's amazing!" But I finally pressed play at 5:45pm (yes, I noted the time cos I'm a geek!) All the waiting has been so much fun, now all there is left for me to do is to listen to it again and again and to get to know and love it even more than I already do. Ahhh I love Coldplay so much. It's incredible the impact that a CD can have on your life. I'm never going to forget any of this, from Prospekt's very first entry all those months ago to today when I finally heard the album.
