Brixton: who has won tickets?
Morning all :) Obviously it's unlikely we'll get news today but the coldplay site seems to be down - could some sort of announcement possibly be on its way?

Brixton: who has won tickets?
I don't think it's that Stephie, but if I understand things the bias for NY was given to the city first, then the rest of the country. What could they be doiung - checking our given details against electoral roll registers???

[Article] The world according to Coldplay
You don't disagree with me, you agree! I already said I completely understand why they've done what they have. All I ask for in return for my empathetic nature is a full 12" mix of each and every song on the album :D

Brixton: who has won tickets?
I couldn't agree more, and I guess many many other people agree, judging by the number of hits this thread's had since Thursday. I know they're crazy busy but they really should be on to this by now.

[Article] The world according to Coldplay
Well fingers crossed we will get LiT someday, it seems quite likely (along with the Kylie song lol). 42 is strong enough to be two songs in their own right, but the 'snappy' edit all together is astonishing. The major extra ones I long for are CoL, SS, VH (30 seconds short of perfection imo) and LiJ (which this review amusingly called the weak point of the album!!)

Brixton: who has won tickets?
As far as I know (and do please correct me if I'm wrong:)) ticketmaster send out all their paper tickets around four or five days before a gig, and have special 'arrangements' with the post office that ensure delivery. When a band's playing somewhere like Wembley that would be many thousands of tickets too. I'm open to what you're saying Jenjie, I just can't imagine the ensuing chaos at Brixton!

B-Sides For The New (Proposed) single "Lovers in Japan"
Have I missed something? Who's proposed this as a single?

[Article] The world according to Coldplay
The most articulate and thought-provoking review I've read, thanks very much for posting. While I disagree with almost all the negative points, (and it's obviously just another writer seeking to be clever and critical), I especially appreciate the point that some of the album is under-developed (please note I certainly do not mean 'under-produced' here!!) For me many, if not most, of the songs on Viva are too short. I know why they did it like that, and in a way it's good, but I can't help feeling that some of these ideas (that sometimes last only ten or twenty seconds each) could have been half-songs in their own right. Viva could have been quite easily over seventy minutes long, and might well have garnered those five star reviews. It would have been a work to rival Dark Side of the Moon and the like imho. But no matter, because the strength of the album as it is deserves a five in my book anyway. Call me a 'three glass full' man, but it has lit up my life just to have this fine CD the lads have given us :) Now, who else's waiting extremely impatiently for that 12" mix of Strawberry Swing?? And it's begging for that dance mix already, tempted to start putting one together meself...

Brixton: who has won tickets?
There's time, isn't the gig on the 16th? Some ticket agencies don't send them out till a few days before. Plus, 7000 people picking up tickets at Brixton would a) take hours and b) be a bloodbath, wouldn't it?

Brixton: who has won tickets?
It's OK, don't worry, we all believe you've won tickets :) I just wondered if anyone had actually seen one yet... Coldplay92 that sucks mate. Are you sure you need to be over 18 though? It seems a bit odd (and unfair).

Brixton: who has won tickets?
Thanks, I remembered your very happy story from your intro thread :) I just wasn't sure you had actually already received the tickets.

Brixton: who has won tickets?
No relief for us on the BTTT (Brixton ticket torture thread) then eh? I'm starting to really worry that something's badly wrong here. Days late now and it'd surely only take a couple of hours at a computer (at most) to set everything up, unless there's a problem with the competition entries data. It's baffling, and the longer they leave it the more people who live further away are going to miss out because they can't make plans/bookings in time. Some people are going to be really let down for no good reason. Interesting comment Ron, do you really think any publishers would be interested in this? I would have thought it's only of interest to those who are waiting...?

tour tickets
It's probably a really good idea to check the Liverpool gig threads to see if anyone's offering tickets. If not, leave a request there as well as here, and try to bump the threads every now and then.

Interview with Chris and Jonny for Transporter
I'm not fluent but I think the gist is they discuss foreigners' perception of Japan as romantic, talk about some romantic spots in Tokyo, and thank Coldplay for such a happy (for Japan!) song title.

Many thanks for that, it's of huge interest to me :) That foreign guy's Japanese accent is worse than mine, and he's a TV presenter!

Brixton: who has won tickets?
Good afternoon dear friends and fellow veterans of the Brixton ticket-torture thread :D I'm hopeful today might be our day. Debs was alerted on Thursday night, and it can't take more than a couple of days for someone to sort this out, can it? Her message yesterday was vague as to timing, but it takes a lot of mental agility for 'very soon' to mean 'Monday'. It's all been a bit of a farce really, right from the start with the problems entering. And it closed so long ago, and still no word. The later they leave it the more people won't be able to get organised in time. Just think of all those precious tickets going to waste :( I've been trying lol, and listening to Chinese Sleep Chant today, I keep imagining I'm hearing 'I'm waiting' over and over :D On another topic, good and bad news for us Warning Sign fans from the Canadian interview. The bad: (Chris, describing each song on A Rush, gets to WS) 'it's boring' The good: 'but we're going to start playing it again' How amazing is that??!!! :stunned::dance::guitarist:

Chris' New Clothes
It was interesting that Chris mentioned Music for Airports as there seems to be a sample from one of the tracks (possibly 2 or 3) near the beginning of The Escapist. If so I wonder if it'll get credited. Also fascinating that 80% or so of the album is them playing all together - amazing actually with such a complex set of songs.
