  1. "In all, the lineup should be taken as a breath of fresh air by Bridge regulars, who have long complained that Young relies too heavily on the same cast of performers, such as Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews. Of all the acts on the bill, only Crow and Young have performed at past Bridge benefits. That number could change, however, since Young commonly adds more acts to the lineup as the dates draw closer." Hmm, maybe the rest of the boys will make a cameo appearance - can you imagine? :D
  2. Dang, I should go...we went one year, many years ago...it's only an hour flight, and my best friend lives in the Bay Area...won't make up for Tampa, but it's something.
  3. It's less than an 8 hour flight to NYC - and NY is 5 hours earlier than the UK, so it wasn't a huge rush for him to make it to the VMAs.

I know there's a Chris quote out there from a awhile ago where he apologizes for sweating so much, and says something about the front row being able to clone him from all the dna from his sweat? Gross thought... And I'm surprised his voice has held out as long as it has! Fan after fan reviews have said how hoarse they are after a concert from cheering and singing a long - hell, Chris has been doing this every 2 or 3 nights for FOURTEEN MONTHS! We're all exhausted after one night of singalong, and he's done 155 shows. His voice has to be a bit tired now. I wonder what type of voice lessons he takes, my son takes voice lessons and is being trained in Speech Level Singing Technique (http://voice-lessons.com/SLS.html). As much as I wish they'd hurry up and reschedule Tampa, they deserve a break to recover, and hang out at home for awhile.
  5. And if that doesn't work, I'm sure perhaps one of those awesome Coldplayers you'll be hanging out with might let you borrow their int'l texting capable phones to keep me updated, while I'm sitting all the way in California on my birthday, wanting to be in London, drowning myself in Coldplay on my ipod, waiting for a Tampa announcement, right? Right? Remember, it's 8 hours earlier here... I bet I'll still be awake the night before, when you start queing up in the morning.
  6. Marie, you and I "will" be having our own pity party on this side of the pond. I've told Tracey, MartinFan (who won the trip to Wembley from babelgum), to have a pint or 2 or 3 for me on Friday, it's my birthday.

I've sent the Oracle a few emails, too. She says she gets over 100 emails a day - maybe we need to make that 200? lol
  8. Clocks piano gets me every time. And The Scientist. The Hardest Part Live - with Will's harmonies.

We should spam the Oracle until we get some kind of answer.
  10. Takes one to know one, huh? And see what happens when you get four of them together? Magic. :bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb:
  11. Those pictures of Will holding the signs was from an awards show -can't remember if it was the Grammy's or the AMA's. The signs were the seat markers. I'd always wondered about their handedness. I knew Chris is a leftie but seeing the others in the LIJ video made me wonder. My husband and oldest daughter are lefties but both play guitar right handed and my husband golfs right.
  12. Ooooh, I love all those pictures. Thanks for finding that Reggie!
  13. Staples Center and Honda Center are pretty good for concerts. We just saw AC/DC on Tuesday at Honda Center and it was great. Verizon Wireless aphitheatre in Irvine is good because it is such a steep natural bowl. I majored in Psychology at UCLA and graduated in 1988. Go Bruins.
  14. Ugh, I've been to the Rose Bowl many times, for concerts and football games when I was in college at UCLA. It's too big...over 90,000 for football games. Not my favorite place for a concert, that's for sure (neither is the LA Coliseum or Dodger Stadium). And yes, I know U2 will be there next month. I'm just not a fan of huge stadiums for concerts - personally, I prefer arenas and amphitheaters because I actually like seeing the band perform, and not just on the video screens. Wembley would be amazing for the experience, but so will not be the somewhat "intimate" experience of the arenas and amphitheaters. We were in seats just behind the pit at Home Depot, and while the concert was awesome, the view was just meh. And Coldplay didn't competely sell out Home Depot - so I doubt they could have sold out the Rose Bowl.
  15. @Yangarin - Hey Marcia, have a great time seeing Bruce Saturday night!
  16. And Home Depot Center held 27,000, which seemed huge at the time. But I suppose compared to the stadiums in Europe, it's not really that big.
  17. Venue rental, promoter fees, etc. There's a lot more involved than the band members raking in $5M for 4 shows.

I was looking up lyrics this morning, and I had a thought. I knew that Chris had used "Now my feet won't touch the ground" in both Life in Technicolor 2, and also in the song titled "Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground" on Prospekt's March. But then I found that he says "If you never try, then you'll never know" in Speed of Sound, as well as Fix You. I knew the line from Fix You, but hadn't realized that it was also in Speed of Sound. Are there other songs where certain lyrics are re-used?
  19. Ha ha, once again, Jonny's in his own alternate tambourine universe.
  20. That's gross. Then there are all the fees involved, so people shouldn't start thinking that the 4 (or 5) band members split that up.
  21. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pls2FmVvQrg]YouTube - Coldplay @ goffertpark 09/09/09[/ame] I found this video of C stage with Trouble, Chris' improv, DWNC, from someone who was right at C-stage, not from the video screen.
  22. :drummer: =
  23. Anna, what a great video! You were so close! And I liked Chris's little dance right in front of you. :laugh3: But oh, watching Will - he really gets into it.
