  1. hehe, dont start planning for it, it'll be a while before that happens... Well, I dunno, I'll just let you know when it happens... my lease for chadyochum.com lasts for another three years, but I think Willow Pattern will emerge before then. We'll just have to wait and see. Next song will be in progress shortly.
  2. Top ten artists of all time (NOT based on personal favorites, but personal opinion of who has influenced artists the most, thus being the greatest artists of all time.) 3. me too! I prefer it over lettuce
  4. mmm... sometimes I'll cook them with spinach leaves (to add something healthy, hahah)
  5. RAMEN NOODLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a dime for a meal, now THATS value! I'm currently into the Oriental Flavor. I also had a song about Ramen Noodles, but thats ancient history.
  6. haha, yay! that was fun. Willow Pattern basically describes me in two words. Willow - mellow. Pattern - I think in random patterns. Its like a puzzle I have to sort out. I also write music in patterns, instead of chord progressions. and for the Double Whammy, The Willow Pattern is a name of a video game back in 1985 that I used to play when I was little. You were a guy in china and you had to rescue a princess by throwing swords at bad guys, lol. I became fascinated with oriental art, recently, and Willow Pattern has to do with Oriental Art, so its a Triple Whammy i suppose, heheh...
  7. thankyou!!! I'm glad you like it. as for "The Chad" people call me that here in Atlanta, so you're not the only one. At one venue that I play it, they introduce me as "The Chad" and every time right before I go on, the host goes "Is it The Chad?" and the audience goes "Its The Chad!" But I'll be using the name "Willow Pattern" as soon as I get everything together, which wont be for a while, so I'll just be going by my name until then.
  8. good idea.... I'll comment on mine... Punch Drunk Love - Adam Sandler's character is so odd, i can relate to him in a lot of ways. The whole pudding thing is so funny. High Fidelity - This movie speaks to me directly, being so involved in music. Boondock Saints - I'd support them all the way. Awesome idea for a movie, well-played out, too. Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Brilliantly filmed. Colorful, visually euphoric, well made. Super Troopers - One of the few comedies I could watch over and over again and not get tired of. The jokes only get funnier. Ghost Busters - CLASSIC CLASSIC CLASSIC. The definitive movie of my childhood Kung Pow - One of the few movies that I laughed all the way through... non stop. So retarded, yet so brilliant. Steve Oedekerk is a genius. Saving Grace - Elderly women. Getting High. Enough said. The Full Monty - awesome script, such a crazy idea for a film, must have been hilarious presenting this idea to the producers. One of my favorite comedies, ever. This is Spinal Tap - these guys are geniuses. Even the subtle parts in this movie are hilarious. A Mighty Wind - see comments on "Spinal Tap" Spirited Away - see athy's comments in above post. Dark Crystal - The most imaginative movie ever made. Took Jim Henson and Frank Oz Five years to make. Labyrinth - David Bowie and Muppets. Hahahah... I so wish I could have done that. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - I used to wish so much that Toon physics could be applied in reality, that would be awesome. Kill Bill - awesome cinematography, awesome choreography, awesome soundtrack, awesome script. Only problem is that it should have been NC-17. The 5th Element - Timeless movie. Unique idea. Gets better each time I see it. Bruce Willis, Chris Tucker, Mila Jovovich, Ian Holm, Gary Oldman. Such odd-ball characters. Top Secret - My favorite Zucker film. Hilarious Classic. My stomach hurt after watching this for the first time.
  9. Hey, i havent been here much lately, remember me? Anyways... Finally, my first full-production demo is done. Hope you like it. The song is called "Out of the Cold" and features myself on vocals, guitars, bass, piano, and coronet. I wrote this song in January and have been playing it acoustic live. Which reminds me... I need a band, hahaha... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/chadyochummusic.htm And a question I'd like to leave those of you who are going to listen to it... What part grabs you the most?

  11. AWESOME idea. All your lists are great. I especially love the idea of having Sigur Ros and Nick Drake back-to-back. My list is based off of my favorite song for each year. 21 tracks, in chronological order. So basically track 3 was my favorite song when I was 3 and so-forth. 1) Journey - Don’t Stop Believing (My dad would play Journey’s Escape album while I was in my bassinet, since this was the opening track, I probably heard this song the most. I can actually hear the influence in my own music.) 2) Talk Talk - Its My Life (When I was a baby, I used to crawl over to the TV when this song would come on MTV. It was my favorite video. For those too young to remember, this is the song that No Doubt currently has a hit cover of) 3) Michael Jackson - Beat It (I used to sing this in the bathtub) 4) The Beatles - Rocky Raccoon (my dad used to sing this to me when he'd tuck me in at night. It was the closest thing to a lullaby that he knew. Good song choice, i love this song) 5) Don Henley - Boys of Summer (I remember few songs in my childhood, but I remember this song vividly. I hear it today just as I heard it as a kid.) 6) The Wiz Soundtrack - Ease On Down the Road (my dad had this album on vinyl, and I used to get it out and look for this song.) 7) Chuck Mangione - Feels So Good (This made me want to learn trumpet, even though Chuck is a Bugle player. I used to get this record out and play it over the stereo and sit outside listening to it, even when my friends were over. They werent interested in jazz. Of course it wasnt normal for a kid my age to be listening to jazz. I wondered why no one else wanted to listen to it.) 8) Manheim Steamroller - Deck the Halls (Ok, I dont know... I remember listening to this on an airplane ride to Virginia for Christmas. Airplane radio stations didnt have much back then so after a few songs, the song would play again and I'd listen to it again . Then on New Years we went to Busch Gardens in Tampa and I heard it again in the park muzak. my dad also played that album to death, my mom hates it to this day. I didnt really listen to music during this time, so this had to have an effect, since I heard it a whole bunch of times that Christmas. 9) Ren and Stimpy - Happy Happy, Joy Joy (I was OBSESSED with Ren and Stimpy. I had the dolls, the comforter for my bed, posters on the wall, and the musical cassette tapes. I used to re-enact scenes from episodes. This song brought out the musically silly side in me, and paved the way for the next artist on my list to come into my life.) 10) Weird Al Yankovic - Fat (My weird al craze started when I heard this song for the first time. I bought most of his albums and listened to them ALL THE TIME. I even included his songs as soundtrack music to the movies my friend and I would make with our action figures. I even made mix tapes of my favorite of his songs and I used to plot out carefully what order I would put them in. Other than the next three songs, Weird Al was all that I listened to.) 11) Commodores - Brick House (When i was eleven, I remember going to a lock-in with my friend Andrew and I heard this song for the first time in the car on the way over to wherever the lock-in was. We played the song on REPEAT over and over again, just waiting for the "shake it down" part to come around. At that time we'd go insane and literally "shake it down." I can just see myself as a kid looking like I'm having a seizure.... or coming in contact with a taser.) 12) Arrested Development - Mr. Wendel (my first non-Weird al album i bought was Arrested Development and featured this song. I heard it when Star 94 became a popular radio station and used to listen to it all the time when it came on the radio. When I got tired of listening to all the other songs they played, waiting for Mr. Wendel to play again, I decided to get the album so that I could listen to it whenever I wanted to.) 13) Jars of Clay - Flood (When i had a youth group stay at my house for a few days, the leader gave us a bunch of CDs, and he gave me a limited edition Jars of Clay album. I listened to Flood and it was my favorite song at the time.) 14) Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (Breaking my Weird Al streak was none other than Led Zeppelin 4. I borrowed it from my dad and have yet to give it back to him. Stairway to Heaven became my favorite song for years. It made me want to pick up the guitar, and it was the first song I learned. I spent hours in the basement with the CD in the computer, looping parts of the song until I found the right notes on the neck. I couldnt read music, so I had to learn by ear. Then a couple years later, i was introduced to the internet and guitar tabs. I practiced until a year later, I had learned the song up to speed.) 15) Weezer - Only In Dreams (Weezer Broke in during tenth grade and i got HOOKED. I learned all the songs on guitar and even watched bootleg videos. This song was my favorite. I noticed at this point that long, epic songs were my favorites.) 16) Tonic - Soldier's Daughter (I dunno what made me want to buy the Tonic album, but when I did, I loved it and I was my favorite album for about four years. This was my favorite song off of the album, and still is my favorite song by them. I even learned a few years later as one of my few cover songs) 17) Jump, Little Children - Close Your Eyes (The J,LC invasion started when I was a senior in highschool. I heard a couple people mention them, and heard them once, but didnt remember it at all. When i was at the music store, I saw the album "Magazine" and decided to buy it without knowing what they sounded like. They became my favorite band and are currently one of my biggest influences) 18) Ben Folds Five - Magic (Ben Folds Five came when I was 15, and for Christmas I couldnt decide whether to get Ben Folds Five or (dont laugh) Master P. I made the right choice and it became one of my most played albums ever. This song made the biggest impact on me seeing as how I was a hopeless romantic at the time and this was one of my favorite love songs.) 19) Travis - Why Does it Always Rain On Me? (Travis made a huge impact on me during this time, since I didnt really listen to anything at this point in my life. I focused on writing, and with that came no desire to listen to anything else. Travis, however was something I couldnt refuse. "Why Does it Always Rain On Me" was and is in my short list of favorite songs of all time.) 20) Sigur Ros - ( ) - Track 8 (for Christmas I got this album from my sister. and at 5 in the morning decided that I'd rather listen to it than go to sleep (we had to get up an hour and a half later to go on vacation) I was mesmerized by the music and when track 8 came around, i was on a high that made me forget that I had to sleep. It is currently still my favorite album) 21) Rufus Wainwright - Poses (I had this melody in my head and it was bugging me to death, I had no idea what it was, but it was one of the best vocal lines I'd ever heard. I searched and gave up eventually. Then Ceara was playing this album and this song came on. It sounded familiar, but I knew exactly what it was as soon as the chorus came around, it was what I had stuck in my head the whole time. It became one of my favorite songs, and Rufus Wainwright became one of my biggest influences and I listened to his music all the time.)

woah, havent been here in a while... I'd just like to say that the Golden Globes were great this year. All of them deserved their awards. I've always enjoyed the Golden Globes more than the Oscars. I'm really not looking forward to the Grammies though. My vote for Best Alternative Album lies with Sigur Ros, but I dont even care about the rest of the categories this year.
  15. album - 1 or 2, unless their boxed set counts, because thats what I listen to. song - Rain Song
  16. Ours - "Fallen Souls" (listen to this guy sing) Silverchair - "Across the Night" and "Tuna in the Brine" (The best songs off of their latest album "Diorama") Rufus Wainwright - "Go or Go Ahead" (Off of his newest album "Want One") Andreas Johnson - "Glorious" (I've never met anyone who's heard of this guy, but the song might be strangely familiar)
  17. Vocals: Jimmy Gnecco (Ours) Guitar: Jonsi Birgisson (Sigur Ros) Piano: Ben Folds Bass: James Jamerson (Funk Brothers) Drums: John Bonham Cello: Ward Williams (Jump, Little Children) That would be weird, but interesting...
  18. relatives... Georgetown is always fun, lots of vintage shops and sushi bars. and CHIPOTLE! I think we're going to D.C. also...
  19. i answered to your lyrics in that thread
  20. Vocals: Jimmy Gnecco - Download "Fallen Souls" by the band "Ours" right now and listen to this guy sing. He has MAD range and vocal technique. And he's the only singer who can scream and not annoy the crap out of me, because screaming bothers me. This guy makes it sound full of emotion, not angsty and bitchy. Rufus Wainwright - One Word. Finesse. This guy's voice seems to float gently on top of his music. His vocal licks are so catchy and each note seems to build up to the next. Download "Poses" by Rufus Wainwright Guitar: Jonsi Birgisson (Sigur Ros) - This guy takes guitar exploration to a new level. His common use of the cello bow, along with reverb and fuzz bring the guitar to a new dimension of sound. Download Track 6 off of "( )" The Edge - This guy makes "simple" sound so good. Riffs like "Pride" and "Where the Streets Have No Name" seem to get burned into your head and echo through it for days. John Mayer - Yes. I said John Mayer. Dispite what people think of his music, he is without a doubt a great guitarist. No one can deny that. Just download the acoustic version of "Neon" and if you can sit there and listen to it and think "This is nothing" then you must have something stuck up your ass. Either that or you're are a guitar legend. Heh... Try playing it any singing it. It took me an entire year to master singing and playing Neon at the same time. Piano - One Man, Ben Folds. If you've heard anything other than "Brick" you can agree that this guy is the most talented pianist of our generation. No wonder you dont hear any other bands show off their piano skills, because no one can compare to the great Ben Folds! Download "Underground" by Ben Folds Five.
  21. yeah, i havent heard them yet, but I saw them on MTV News. Ben Kweller is cool, but I havent heard the other Ben yet.
  22. Rufus Wainwright - Poses its in my head....
  23. Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five!!!!!! YYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!! He makes me want to get better at piano and give up on it at the same time.
  24. Ben Folds Five!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!! Speaking of Which, I havent seen an appreciation thread for them.. I'll start it... as for Kazaa, download it. but download Kazaa Lite. Look for it on http://www.klitesite.com
