haha, thanks for all the scarf helf, guys :D. this one is quiiite long, but so far my friends have said its alright long. maybe i'll take a picture later to get my point across.

ok. fashion question: scarves are currently all the rage. i quite like them and now have two. one of them is shortish, so i don't have much of a problem with that one, but my other is quite long, and i'm having a bit of an issue wrapping it in that way that everyone seems to be wearing them so it looks nice. when it's just hanging around my neck, the ends to go about my knees, which is rather long. i've been wrapping each end around my neck once so the ends are about at my waist, but somehow it doesn't look as nice as when other people wrap them that super-secret way (and i can't really wrap the entire thing around my neck, as its too long and there's so much fabric that it looks like i have a tire around my neck). sooo, all you fashion-conscious people: how do you wrap a scarf in that way that everyone's wearing them these days? i can't seem to find a good picture of what i mean, though :\

"i wouldn't want to change a thing" that's one of the ones i would have considered if VLVOD had been out when i was a senior, and if my school just did quotes. we actually had a certain number of characters with which to say whatever we wanted, but i kind of wish it was just a quote, because the space we had was too short to say anything meaningful, despite everyone trying. there are actually lots of coldplay quotes i would have considered, but i went to a very small school where the grades and classes were unbelievably tight-knit as a whole, so things like "you know i love you so" etc would have really fit. i'm not sure if they would fit in most cases, though.

ok, there's something fishy about these bracelets. i think besides them being a reference to coldplay (and pretty and ethical, of course), they're also "in" at the moment. there's a preppy, expensive-taste girl in one of my classes that wears these (or ones that look identical to these) every day, and tonight in the cafeteria, during dinner, i was sitting next to a huge, stereotypical [american] football player, and HE WAS WEARING TWO OF THEM. and he doesn't seem to be the type to be emulating chris martin or even being caught dead at a coldplay concert, if you know what i mean. anyway, that's just a random observation, but rockstars, preppy girls and football players all having the same taste in jewllery? it strikes me as odd. and awesome :wink:

definitely! but i think they look alike more than just in this picture. and i would say in that picture, fran looks more like chris rather than the other way around! :P i was thinking last night when watching the BBC2 gig on my computer...i wonder if chinese sleep chant started off as like a lullaby chris or one of the guys would sing their kids at bedtime? from what (i think) the lyrics are, i think it would have been really cute if that's how it started off, and then brought to the studio to become more rockish and slurred. anyway, i'm crazy, but i thought it would be really cute if that's how it was :nice:

ooh, thanks for the link! :D though i've heard that it's possible to buy the bracelets at the concerts? maybe? if not, i'll just order some from here. i really want some. and i swear there's a girl in one of my classes that has them, but she doesn't seem like the type to wear something from africa for charity OR like coldplay.

@grace: definitely the black one, in my opinion. besides the fact that it's high-waist, i have almost the same exact skirt. i'm waiting for it to get colder so i can actually wear it :D

in america, i don't put anything on fries but salt or cheese! god, how i love cheese. but in holland, they put some funky things on their fries. i tried pinadsaus, which is like a spicy sauce made of peanuts, and i really loved it. (does that fall under the "brown/HP" category? i don't know what that means).

yeah, i ordered my heart shirt in MAY, and it came in SEPTEMBER. i think you might be waiting a while. i heard, though, at the start of the tour, that they sold the DAAHF shirt at the concerts. is that true? i'm DYING for that one, and i figured i'd just buy one when i go. if i can't, maybe i should just order one now...

yeahhh. i really don't think this is on the US VH1. just the usual crap. i'll check back later, but i think this is only on in (sensible) europe.

this is a great way of putting it, one that i'd never thought of before. generally, i enjoy their "sadder" stuff more, like "see you soon" and "careful where you stand" and all that, and i really do miss that melancholic sort of "help me, i'm in a hole" sort of thing they had going on up until X&Y. i have to say that i do kind of miss the reason i loved them from the start, because the love that i have for the new stuff is different. but you're right: things have gotten pretty bad in this world, and the brighter, happier stuff like "strawberry swing" and "lovers in japan" are the perfect antithesis :nice: i do, however, still like the acoustic version of "lovers in japan" much better because it has that tiny hint of old-coldplay melancholia :uhoh:

my pink heart coldplay shirt came in the mail from my mom yesterday :heart: and oh yeah... THE LOST! EP WILL BE RELEASED ON MY BIRTHDAY! :dance: :P

^^i just asked the oracle if it would contain any new music. i don't really expect an answer, but i did add that it was my birthday that day and new coldplay music would be the best present ever! :P

i quite like the video, actually. i mean, there are things i'd change about it, but i like it overall, and i think a performance live video suits this song. however, some butterfly action would have been amazing :flutterby: what does everyone think the odds are that this EP will actually have at least one new song on it rather than just "lost!," "lost?," and a live version? :thinking:

:dance: however, i saw the words "november 10" (which is my birthday) and EP and spazzed out completely, thinking that the date for prospekt's march had been moved upto my birthday. then, only after frantically IMing a friend did i realize it said that the EP was for "lost!" only :laugh4: well, if they're calling it an EP, perhaps it'll have b-sides? maybe? *crosses fingers*

i haven't had a voice all week, either, and the cough comes in at night too. what you have sounds much worse, though :sad: however, i did have something that sounds sort of like this once, and when i went to the doctor, they gave me athsma inhalers, which helped in the first second of me using them. i say go to the doctor and see what they say. hope you feel better soon, though!

i had to do the same thing last year. i'm not going to try to scare you, because i can tend to be quite an unadaptable person in terms of making friends with people my own age, but honestly, most people around this age love uni/college. i just happen to like my previous life much more, and i think i'm a special case. anyway, good luck! making friends is the best way to go about all this (something i can have a hard time with). it really won't be bad at all.

yeah, i liked her curlier hair better, when she made it wavy sometime this summer. i also kind of wish she'd go for a more natural-looking version of blonde: less platinum blonde and more...real. like her roots: i think that color would look amazing on her, and less barbie. i'm kind of just anti-hair-dye for everyone, though, so take that with a grain of salt :P

i think facebook is good for the quick note and for sharing pictures, but i've learned the hard way that you can't really keep up relationships with it. i don't think you can keep up relationships at all without making an effort to see a person physically, or next-best, call often, then MSN/AIM after that. i generally like facebook and have a good time with it, but i'm really sorry to hear about both of those things, mo. i agree that it's terrible to find out important things in such an impersonal way, especially with people you thought you were close to. i know people that spend hours on facebook. i just can't do that. usually i check the news feed to see if there's anything THAT interesting that my friends are doing, see if there's anything i need to respond to, and look at photos. other than that, i'd rather spend my time here on coldplaying. it's so much more personal, and i'm able to create great friendships rather than let others go stale. facebook is where i draw the line, though. no myspace for me, thank you.

i think i want to have a kid just to order that bib. well, i want a kid anyway, but still :P there are too many coldplay things i want. basically i want every piece of merch they've ever put out.
