  1. he must. grow. hair. back. :bomb:
  2. ahhh, i love that it's like classic coldplay with chris and the piano, but then it becomes heavier in the choruses or whatever and becomes something newer. postcards, too. that just makes me think of walking in parliament square in london, for some reason () however, i have a hunch that i'll like the instrumental LIT better than the one with lyrics. who knows, though :D :uhoh:...i'm so good at going off topic in threads
  3. me too lore :bigcry: i think i'll explode before prospekt's march comes out. this is waiting for VLVOD all over again!
  4. even though i haven't seen them in concert yet, the album version of "lovers in japan" makes me think of the butterfly confetti floating all over the place :nice: i wish i had floor seats, if only for the confetti. damn america and its no-standing policy at most concerts!
  5. ooh, thanks, cindy! 10 days? brillo :D i wanted some functional, hardy, colorful bracelets anyway. though looking like chris is a MAJOR bonus :P
  6. ^ that's great!
  7. i succumbed and just ordered some :nice: i hope to have them in time for the concerts at the end of the month...clisaj, how long did it take for them to get to you? i'm kind of really excited for these
  8. ^in my experience, it's the exact opposite. most people were more intelligent and into it in my high school then they are in my uni. at least in this country, uni/college has become almost required, another thing that you pretty much HAVE to go through to fit in a comfortable place in society, so there are just as many slackers there as there are in most high schools.
  9. ooooh, nice job guys! i've been trying to work it out a bit myself (i also can't stop watching that video...so far i LOVE the song!). that's farther than i got! i cannot WAIT to have the studio version of this.
  10. i think it might be this one too: just because of the soldiers and all. but who knows? i just went through the photos i took at the louvre, and there was this one hanging next to "liberty leading the people" of napoleon on a horse with some soldiers behind him in the snow, and i was like "THAT WOULD BE THE BEST," but then i saw it was by delaroche, not delacroix :dozey:
  11. :stunned: ok, you win, briggs  but i always thought "chalk farm" on the london tube was rather funny. i picture lots of teachers harvesting bundles of blackboard chalk :P britain's got some hilarious placenames in general. or at least ones unlike most other places in the world.
  12. haha, i'll try :P if you're going to the NJ concert and are planning to wear that amsterdam shirt, i'll look for you there! :D
  13. i have to say that i don't enjoy my situation now at all. i didn't even have that many downers with the smaller system. it was definitely more chill back then. wearing a green silk shirt to class in my old school would have been the best thing (and people actually did things of that ilk all the time and it was great), but here, no one would find it funny. in fact, you'd probably be mocked for years. not that i'd care, but it makes me sad that people here usually find strangeness and uniqueness threatening rather than funny.
  14. ^ well, they're also morons. and these drunks that played the scientist tonight were different drunks, this time a pack of girls. and i will definitely be paying a visit to target for that shirt :D. hopefully it'll still be there by next weekend.
  15. OMFG. :stunned: *jealousy* :bomb: you guys are AWESOME!!! give me some pointers in the next few weeks? please? :shy:
  16. :dead: i cannot wait to have this in studio quality. it sounds absolutely epic from what i can hear!
  17. the drunks next door have been blasting disco/pop/dance music for the past hour or so, but "the scientist" just came up in the mix, and i'm currently laughing (and enjoying the fact that i can hear it :nice:)
  18. i can't agree with this and stress this enough. i know your school is slightly bigger than mine was, anna, but not by that much. treasure the fact that you go to a school like you do, because uni will knock your socks off with its strangeness and bigness. you might like those things better than i do, but i don't think you'll ever regret having had smaller classes with people you actually know. that's something i miss so bad i can taste it. life has its ups and downs, though, and i promise that an up will come, probably sooner than you think, too :D
  19. YOU GOT THIS AT TARGET? i will run to get this as soon as i can. A) because of the coldplay reference, and B) because i lived in holland and amsterdam is amazing. thanks for posting!
  20. oh, but there is a plus in all this: i now get to go home next weekend, so i'll stop by my local H&M and check out stuff there :nice:
  21. ^the problem is that for the most part, the US store has different things than the european stores. some things are the same, but generally the US stores don't have as much merchandise. i learned this the hard way when i saw something i liked in the window of an H&M in europe and discovered its not available in the american stores when i got back  i did go into the dutch H&M online store once because i can vaguely understand dutch, but a lots of the stuff isn't the same.
  22. ugh, i hate not having an H&M near me AND that you can't look at their stuff in the american store online  but thanks for the tip! :D
  23. i've deciced that i really want a trenchcoat, or just a long, fall-weight coat in general. of course, that probably requires me getting some nice shoes so i can wear the trenchcoat without looking like a moron. i think i'll hit target soon, since i know they have some there. unfortunately, i'm also not supposed to be spending money, and i don't exactly need another coat...
  24. ooh, i particularly like this GOOP letter, since i'll be living in london (and norwich) next year :nice:
  25. the scientist, with shiver a close second and speed of sound a close third. i love the UK version of trouble, too. and since WHEN is there a parachutes video? did i miss something?
