  1. really?!?!? wow!! i wasn't, but i live there :nice: semy, yours definitely wins. ohmygod :laugh4: mine wasn't exactly funny, but it would make my life if it came true.
  2. ^eek, i definitely know how you feel with that, considering i might have a similar problem. but at least i'm still in the US that has a defined release date. if you want (and i get it early on the 13th or 14th like i hope), i can send it to you sooner so you can have it/get it while you're on your trip. this is important stuff!
  3. hah! i remember how much i freaked out over all this news a few months ago, thinking that it would delay/prevent the album indefinitely. i'm SOOO happy it didn't come to this!
  4. OMG! My mom's brother's girlfriend's sister's dentist's parakeet was talking to my sister's friend's dog's podiatrist's IT technician the other day and they said that they heard that gwyneth paltrow was going to be moving to ridgefield CT and that chris didn't really want to, but said it was OK because it was close to NYC and jonny would live in the poolhouse. I just want them to be happy. But I hope that they do move there because i live there! oh, how i wish... this thread makes me :laugh1:
  5. not on the US amazon yet :( it will be soon though!
  6. i like prove yourself quite a bit, though musically more than lyrically. it is pretty damn emo! but i've always liked the line "hook back up to the cathode ray"
  7. ^i dont think the lounge is unfriendly, it just seems like an awkward place to break into when youve never been there before because everyone already knows everyone. i've never had anyone be unfriendly to me; it was more the worry about someone being unfriendly to me!
  8. ^well, you were kinda in my dream. not physically. it gets a bit hard to have someone i've never met in the physical realm be present in a dream :laugh1: your words were, though! the waiting is getting to me, i guess, but oddly enough i'm not hanging on that next star. yes, i really want it, but honestly now that we have a release date i'm content counting the days till then. i don't even feel that anxious. what i want most is the music, i think. if they post the star we're currently waiting for with "violet hill" in it...:bomb: i think i'm just having these dreams because of the excitement from this past week rather than what i want in the future.
  9. thanks! i've always thought it would be a killer album title as well. the problem is that it is already an album title, or part of one, which is where i got it from: yoko ono's approximately infinite universe. i've never listened to the album or anything like that (i don't know if i could stand it), but i love the phrase to death. now emily's...THERE'S a brilliant title! :laugh3:
  10. last night i had a dream that there was a new star that got posted that had new music in it while i was sleeping, and when i woke up i was innundated with IMs and PMs and facebook messages from annie and semy. it was so plausible that when i woke up i actually believed it...and nothing. :dozey: this is getting to be unhealthy, methinks.
  11. conspiracy theories! :laugh4: oh goodness. i have to say that i don't think coldplay would ever say "die the death" (what i think the other bit in the title says) no matter how dark VLVOD will be.
  12. argh, i hope there's at least one little random thing like this when i'm over there next year. chances are slim, but i want to try to go to something like this so badly!
  13. ripcord until it dies. then it gets harder.
  14. i was thinking the same thing. the place will probably explode; one of those times where you're writing out your post and by the time you click "post quick reply," about fifty posts have appeared in the time you were writing yours, so it's almost not relevant anymore. it's exciting but a tiny bit aggrivating at the same time. i don't mind n00bs at all...i distinctly remember what it was like to be one, and it seems to be the good ones that stick and become oldies anyway. they'll all lose interest quickly enough. ditto on the bit about the lounge being intimidating...i actually didn't start posting in here until october/november of this year! it just seems to an outsider that everyone knows everyone and that you can't fully understand all the conversations going on...but now i love it! i'm not going to be here too too much in the week of release because i'll be on holiday :bigcry: i really want to experience the explosion! i missed it for X&Y. but the place i live might have wifi, so i might be on more than i think. if not, then i want to try as hard as possible to check in on a dial-up connection every night--i'll miss you guys AND the excitement!
  15. i've been here a little over two years, with my time spent actually on the board exponentially increasing. i would check in a few times a week for the first year and a half or so, then i was out of school for 9 months so all of a sudden i could be on every day whenever i wanted...and i've come once a day at least for a minute since! i feel like i'm going to be here for at least 5 years...i like it here!! not just because of the subject, but because of all the people i've met. i feel like unless i meet people in person, i'd lose touch with them if i left the board forever, and i don't want that.
  16. i thought the X&Y thing was cool, with the whole baudot color code inside. but yes, they're not exactly known for their booklety things. it would be great if this one was especially cool, but i really only care about what's on that CD when it comes down to it. besides, would really cool artwork/lyrics etc really stop most people from illegally downloading?
  17. ^i meant to post about that earlier! i noticed the same thing!! it made me laugh, but i forgot to mention it here. and its definitely interesting. even though i'm almost positive it's a coincidence, it's kind of funny! (BTW, i was at the same coldplay concert as you were in hartford CT in 2005!)
  18. 12:16 right now. so no, unfortunately. i'm really hoping for tomorrow (today) now. i wonder if they're still here, though. i can see them going home for the holiday. but maybe they've moved to some even MORE random place...rural central pennsylvania, anyone?! :laugh4:
  19. ^yep, lots and lots of portlands. dammit. if my two favorite things (obama and coldplay) were in the same city at the same time, i would HAVE to go, no question!
  20. ^that would be interesting, i think, but i have to say that i would probablybe a tad disappointed not to hear some certain songs from other albums. well, of course this probably depends on how much i like VLVOD after i get over the initial "OMG NEW ALBUM--I LOVE IT" phase. because in retrospect, X&Y was good, but not fabulous in my opinion, and if i went to see them on the last tour and they only played X&Y songs, i might have been a little let down. i can never imagine them NOT playing "clocks" and "yellow" at the very least, i have to say. no matter how many albums they put out (well, ok, up to about 7 maybe), i think they're probably going to play at least ONE song from each album at most concerts. of course, i'm famous for being wrong as well...
  21. god, i always have to have SOME random coldplay thought  but earlier i was reading a news article about barack obama (him again, yes) and it said he was in PORTLAND. my heart jumped a little, thinking that if both obama AND coldplay were in portland maine right now, i would seriously, seriously consider driving up there under the rouse of going to an obama rally but also doing some CP spotting as well...but then i read on and found that he was in portland, OREGON and not portland, MAINE. damn this country having so many duplicate names! :laugh4:
  22. i dont know, i'm not anticipating VLVOD sounding much like X&Y, so i don't know. i think they'll just play the core X&Y songs like "speed of sound" and "square one" (and hopefully "swallowed in the sea") with the core AROBTTH and parachutes songs ("clocks" "yellow" "the scientist" "trouble"; all those) regardless of sound or theme.
  23. oh, no one's into them as much as i am, no way! but they appreciate them at least, which i should be grateful for. it's just the fact that i really love something, whatever it is, to the point of obsession that's uncool.
  24. VLVOD is totally growing on me (the abbreviation that is, not the title as a while just yet). that's what i've decided to call it from now on.
  25. :laugh1: ohh my god, so funny i'm lol-ing. because my friends are the same way. they just kind of roll their eyes and think i'm unhealthily obsessed. which perhaps i am, but it's just not cool for young people to really love something so much or be passionate about anything. disinterest and apathy is the norm and it pisses me off. interestingly, though, pretty much all of my friends appreciate them and have coldplay (at least X&Y or the main singles) on their ipods and listen to it on occasion. but they think i'm nuts for being able to listen to it on end. they wonder why i dont get annoyed with it.
