  1. 79,773 as of march 23 but i SWEAR when i looked at it earlier, it said somewhere in the 71,000 family. i wonder what it will get to in the week of VLVOD's release?
  2. i don't mind them being popular; not at all. i just think the music suffered a bit in that period of their career, and i hope VLVOD will erase that. i actually love them being popular, because there are more chances to catch them places and hear things about them and come across people who like them. as for smaller venues, i'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see them in a small venue, but i must say that i hope they don't exclusively do small venues because that means you have much less of a chance of seeing them. i'd rather see them in a less-initmate venue with a somewhat crappy seat then not see them at all. but if i ever get to see them in some theater or ballroom someday...i'll probably need CPR after the concert.
  3. aw, those sound pretty awful too! mine were just more scary than painful (for me, anyway), but those sound like they REALLY hurt. the things with my legs were just obnoxious to look at really: i had bandaids (usually neon-colored ones because that's all we had ) up and down the back of my legs for months so people wouldn't see the hideous gashes, but in retrospect the gashes were probably better-looking than the electric pink and green bandaids. picking bits of pavement out of your hand...*shudder* yes, the thing with my brother kept me off of bikes in any form for seven years. to this day everyone insists that it wasn't me that did it, but i distinctly remember hitting his back wheel...eek. i learned to ride a bike quite late though (i live in a really hilly area, so you don't see bikes too often anyway), so i don't have as much experience with them as other people do, and therefore less accidents. i'm just so accident prone that out of the maybe 8 times i've ridden a bike, 2 of them have involved accidents. now if we were talking about ice-skating and ice-skating accidents...ooh, do i have some stories :P
  4. i never use the user CP. i actually figured out kind of late (like last year) that you could use it to see who's writing in the threads you've recently written in! i usually only use the user CP for changing my sig and PMs, and when i come here, i always go to the coldplay section, then the lounge, and then WoM, and when i'm particularly bored, i'll look around the other forums. i tend to visit the same ~60 threads or so anyway, though more recently because of all the excitement!
  5. i had to clean mine at uni today. i just own too many things, i think, and of course i keep buying more. and i have this tendancy to put things i've been using on the floor next to my bed when i'm done with them (i spend almost all of my time on the bed), so i have this sort of moat of stuff that i leap over to get into bed. i completely cleaned that up today, but i assume it will make its comeback rather quickly. other than that though, i'm a pretty neat person. my walls are what need to be tidied; i plan to completely re-do my walls in my room at home this summer so it looks less like an explosion and more like a bedroom.
  6. ^i'm looking for more down-to-earthness too. i liked X&Y a hell of a lot, but not as much as the others, and i think it's in part because it was kind of not like the others, like they worked too hard at making it a stadium-rock album that would get a lot of publicity. well, i doubt they intended to make it like that (that seems so un-coldplay), but i think they tried to hard in general, like they forced it. erm, you do know it's not called 42, though? and i'll post the article later, once my roommate wakes up and i can ask to use her scanner because i haven't got one. i have no idea why they cropped guy out on the website; it seems quite rude :P
  7. it's a good mother's day movie though! they show it on comedy central (a TV channel here) every mother's day because of shaun and his mum. but i watch it every halloween. how fitting. back to coldplay...hmm... ooh, ok, when i was shopping yesterday, i picked up the new RS magazine and saw that they printed the article that we got on thursday as a full-pager with a big, non-cropped version of that photo (with guy in!). i'll scan it and upload it later if anyone cares to see.
  8. you're pretty right about the lack of variety, i would say, but i don't know, i've been kind of treating the album as an entire piece of work rather than a group of songs. which is interesting, because usually i like whole albums but pick and choose my favorite songs, but with this one it seems to be that if i'm going to listen to it, i'm going to listen to the entire thing straight through.
  9. ^ooh, very true! i never considered that they were fake teeth, i suppose because they suited him well. now...not so much :P because it's easter:
  10. ^aww, nina, i like the easter-themed avi! :nice: godd, that looks so good...i might have to pop over to the school store and buy something with caramel in it now. even though i've been eating jelly beans and chocolate malted eggs all day. i suppose saying car-mull is an american thing, then, but it kind of annoys me i've gotten into some heated debates about it, actually, among other frequently-mispronounced-words.
  11. ^that sounds like it would be great! i would use it if they had it. but i live in a pretty rural area (well, it's on the line between rural and suburban), so unless you want to bike for hours and hours, you can't get ANYWHERE but to more houses and more trees. and i didn't go to a public school, so my friends didn't live in my town, even. most of my friends were over 10 miles away, and my school was 12 miles from my house. even if there were nice bike paths, there wouldn't be anywhere to feasibly get to on them :(
  12. it had to be pointed out to me as well, but once it was, i had no question that it was chris! he has that...unique way of moving, and the bodyshape is all his. how i love this movie...not exactly a good one for easter, though :P
  13. care-uh-mel. it actually kind of bothers me when people say car-mul.
  14. i'm sorry, but i can't get over that neville longbottom pic. he looks...nice now! i think he must have gotten his teeth fixed. they don'y look as remotely as screwed up as they do in the films.
  15. last time i rode a bike was about .5 of a mile down the road this summer to my neighbor's house (a husband and wife who also happen to be my former history and english teachers...) to feed their cats while they were on holiday. a car cut too close to me and i felt like i had to bail off, so i did...and my legs were spliced open on the back by the pedals. needless to say, i still have the scars. the time before that was christmas 2000, when i got the bike. my brother and i took our brand-new bikes out to the driveway to try them out, and i promptly broke his arm by bumping him from the back and making him fly over the handlebars. made me not want to touch the thing for a good 7 years.
  16. Has anyone else heard of/heard Vampire Weekend? Despite this being a very Coldplay week and me listening to them quite a bit, I can't stop playing Vampire Weekend's self-titled album. I think it's fabulous. Anyone else a fan? I can't get enough of them!
  17. hahah, briggs, you're torturing her!! i've heard that there are websites out there that hypothesize what he says, but i've never looked for them. at any rate, it's one of my favorite music videos of all time. SUCH a good concept.
  18. how is ripcord still in?! i feel like i've been voting for it forever.
  19. i love that one of my favorite books has such coldplay references! radiohead as well (paranoid android, ok computer). i really hope that the lyrics to 42 have something to do with the meaning of life or whatever. i love connections between things like coldplay and THGTTG!
  20. ^that's one of my favorites EVER. :dead:
  21. so you guys don't have ot go frame by frame... it's right at the end, when shaun and liz escape from the pub through the basement, right before the police show up. if you watch this part of the movie, you can tell it's chris just by the way he moves
  22. ^good point. they seem to like the handwritten stuff these days...i just hope we're able to read the tracklisting if it's in chris's handwriting! i'm hoping for something kinda like the new website screenshots..i like the use of the primary colors. i count X&Y as colorful (also probably one of my favorite album arts ever, for some reason), but this just blows that out of the water, color-wise, if it's to be part of the new VLVOD album art!
  23. ^it wasn't a cool dream, it was annoying :P mostly i remember seeing the main page of the site, the blinking "new private message" sign, my facebook profile, and hearing the IM noise, but you know how dreams are  it's kind of a lot better when coldplay are actually in them!
  24. come on america! get on your game! hmm...HMV has a provisional tracklisting... 1. Famous Old Painters 2. Glass Of Water 3. Lost! 4. Cemeteries Of London 5. Violet Hill 6. Poppy Fields 7. 42 8. Yes! 9. Leftrightleftright 10. Rainy Day 11. Prospeckt's March is this just the order that they were listed in that one prospekt entry? i see that both LRLR and prospekt's march are listed...aren't they supposed to be the same song? and violet hill's on there as well.
  25. ^that's why i get a little happy when they're in manhattan NYC. that's about 60 miles or so from where i live, and while it's not right next door, it's pretty tempting to run over there and stalk them whenever i get wind that they're around those parts :P like you said, i don't know what i'd do if i found them, though. i don't want to bother them, as badly as i'd want a picture and to blab on about how wonderful their music is.
