yeah, youre right. i didnt mean to sound totally naive and bitchy about the whole waste thing, but it sounded that way. it just seems a bit excessive, especially the FORTY-EIGHT BEERS (plus 4 cases after the show!), and im a stickler for waste in any situation. how many tour buses did they use for the twisted logic/talk tours? back on the waste topic, im kinda surprised they had FOUR buses. i think thats insane for anyone at any time, i dont care if youre the rolling stones (but i think they had much more than 4 buses and MUCH more than 2 trucks on their last tour!) sorry to sound all picky, but things like four buses surprise me, especially when coldplay is so environmentally concious in other situations. (unless they run their buses on ethanol like willie nelson). however its very true i would want my own space... who knows.

oh, i forgot about the new album! i want it nooooooooow, but it needs to be a brilliant one. so thats my 5th wish: a brilliant yet speedy 4th album (and all albums after that too! im thinking an album a year!)

I searched for this and didnt find anything so i dont think it exists...sorry if it does if you were granted 3 coldplay wishes, what would they be? (besides getting married and having lots of babies! :laugh3: ) mine would be: 1) being able to be a fly on the wall whenever i wanted 2) spending a day in their company 3) having front-row seats to one of their concerts with my camera, someone else videotaping the whole thing ok...you can have more than 3 because i cant limit myself, either! 4) at said concert, hearing them play full-length versions of "warning sign" "ladder to the sun" "sleeping sun" "the world turned upside down" "proof", and others. (basically, a private concert where i pick the set list!!) other wishes??

oh my god, this made me laugh so hard. i suppose all bands have a list like this, im sure they do, but the whole thing is written in an almost demanding manner that surprised me. and i cant help but think of all the food that must be wasted at every show! four guys (well, probably like 13 come to think of it, with all the people that travel with them) cannot possibly devour that much food and alcohol without getting seriously trashed or ill before hopping around on stage like madmen or doing their jobs. they ask for flowers in a vase!! and a fruit juicer??? im glad they specified dark socks, so they dont wear white socks with all that black and make such a faux pas (haha, but with the white sneakers, who cares? :laugh3: ) and all that food that they leave with on the buses?? wow. thanks for posting, i got a real laugh out of it!

saw the world trade center trailer last night, but the first time i saw the one with "fix you" in it. if my mom hadnt been sitting next to be i would have burst into tears, it was that affecting. still cant decide whether to see that movie or not. :confused:

wait, why did he write that song? i dont think i know why. please tell! its one of my favorites. oh, and scratch what i said before. i cried to fix you last night for no apparent reason (besides seeing the preview for world trade center movie with "fix you" in it), so add that to my list if it wasnt already on there. :D

the one i have certainly isnt live. at least it doesnt sound like it. it starts off real quiet with faint studio chatter and then gets louder into the song. i downloaded it from this site, so its available somewhere. i dont know how to post stuff like that. im 99% sure its not a live recording. it just cant be.

was in the mall yesterday, walking around eating pretzels, and speed of sound came over the mall speakers! i parked it right on a bench to eat, but mostly to listen to the song! and i spent some extended time in gap (not a hard thing for me to do) trying to hear "sleeping sun" which is on their store CD, apparently, but no luck.

TOTALLY agree. thank you. and i think politik is mostly about love, then about politics, then about 9/11. i think the political parts are not too in your face either, telling you to send money to africa or denouncing the politicians for not helping, its just asking for "peace of mind and trust" rather than "give us your money! look at these poor african babies!" so i dont really count it as a political song in the sense that we're talking about (i think)

"It seems like somebody who goes to a Coldplay concert wouldn't do this." ^i have to say, he has a bit of a point. not many people think of coldplay fans as the murdering type. the worst kind of person that people expect to find at a coldplay concert is a cocky, drunk preppy. its actually a pretty good alibi. its like that bit from the Live 2003 tour diary, where the security guy at the red rocks arena in CO is like "this isnt a metal group, this isnt a hippie group, we're doing visual searches only."

haaaaaaaa, agreed! of course there are songs im not so hot on, but ill always listen to them. i rarely use the << or >> buttons, but sometimes im just in the mood for a certain song, so ill flip through the ipod menus to find it. i dont count that as skipping.

to clarify what i wrote before... i have cried mybe 3 times to yellow and almost did to see you soon, warning sign, etc. but i dont cry from music much, i guess. i feel like it a lot because so much of their stuff just hits me in the right way and i get so moved that i feel like crying but no tears are really produced. i get more of this...internal resonance thing (god that sounds lame), but not really crying besides yellow. also, the mood has to be just right. i cant listen to warning sign in the car, for example, or while other people are around and be hit by it so powerfully. i have to be like, alone, in my room, at night. so yeah.

thats what it is in the original verve version, but i know what you mean, that doenst sound like what hes saying. for now i just assume its the same, but chris definitiely could have changed it.

from a selfish point of view, i want the new album NOW. im dying to hear new stuff, partially because of all the stuff thats been said, i cant imagine what itll be like. i crave new coldplay material like no other. but of course, the guys need a break. they must be exhausted. they need some home time and some break time. and if its going to make the album better, i hope they take as much time as they need. however, im counting on that "itch" that coldplay says they have, and almost all musicians have, to get back into the studio. i hope they take like 4 or 5 months off, then go back in the studio and produce an album by the end of 2007 (since they take such a looong time in the studio- didnt they take 10 months for X&Y?). the end of 2007 seems like such an obscenely long time away to me, but late 2007-early 2008 seems like a fair and likely time frame in my mind. i think chris was just being cheeky chris and trying to get the reporters off his back when he said the 25-year thing. it seems to me that we'll definfitely have on by the end of 2008. god, that seems like forever!! i want one noooooow!

hmm. the song seems fitting for it, but who knows if it will actually show up. (fix you was in the king kong trailer??? WTF?? that seems so strange). while part of me really wants to see that movie (i like big-budget disaster/action movies that move you, and id like to see the quality of the cinematography), i just think its way too soon for me. i saw the preview in theaters and almost threw up. my heart was racing and my friend next to me was sobbing. if i act like that in the preview, i doubt i can see the whole movie. sorry, a bit off track...:square:

i think i enjoyed AROBTTH and Parachutes more than X&Y as albums as a whole, but i certainly dont think theyre getting worse. its impossible to say after only 3 albums. if they had a long line of maybe 4 or 5 records after Parachutes and AROBTTH that i didnt consider on the same level as the first two, then maybe i would (extremely reluctantly) say they were getting worse. but in my opinion, they had two SPECTACULAR records and one really good one. just because i didnt connect as well with the third doesnt mean i think theyre getting worse. i may not have liked the second as much and then loved the third. i just dont think its enough albums to consider. theyre still progressing, and i see some absolutely fantastic new music ahead, changes and all. as someone said earlier, theyre evolving. once they stop evolving and find their musical niche, then we can evaluate more on their future quality. i hope that made sense...

exactly. theyre not trying to save the world, theyre trying to help because so many people dont give a crap. it IS just about the music. their music really has nothing to do with their causes. its THEM that promote their causes like MTF and all that. i agree, i love that they use their fame in a positive way. its so much better than what they could be doing-- getting attention for themselves. to each their own, and i respect all opinions, but i feel its sort of dumb to not like them because theyre trying to do good.
