Ian, if a midi isn't posted here in the next day or so I'll try and construct one in my spare time, but by that time the real version may have dropped. I guess this person needs to deliver!!

If possible I'd love a midi file - with that I could try and engineer it to sound like a studio recording... Worth a shot if you can be bothered.

I know there's already a thread similar to this but (and without coming across as too cocky) I spent a LOT of time on this mix and would like as many people to enjoy it as possible. Changes: - Opened with The Escapist - seamless transition to LiT - I recorded Jonny's guitar part from the live version of LiT and mixed it in subtly to the instrumental section - Mixed in the original LiT 'ohohohhhh's and subsequent ending, and removed CoL intro. - I also added minimal compression to the whole song and EQed it a little to bring out what I felt was a bit more kick and energy! - Comes in at 5:04 mins Link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/gzkjuy (thanks poiuty) Enjoy!

Interesting that you mentioned that and surprised others haven't more commonly either. They went on record several times saying it was designed to be played live yet it's their most complex work yet.

Awesome news. Just some things to note, LiT with lyrics was meant to be the last song on their album for 2009, so the fact it is now track one on the EP means they may no longer be planning a new album for 2009. Also, is Prospekt's March (the song) just The Dubliners? Because on a few setlists it has been written like this 'The Dubliners/Prospekt's March'.

I like it. It's got the up-close and personal cinematography that we saw in Live 2003 but that was sorely missed in How We Saw The World Pt 2. So props for that. It also cleverly mixed Matt's footage with Roadie footage from other shows (the beginning and the end for sure). The only thing I didn't like (and what they got wrong with the main clip for VLV) is how they shoot Chris' face. He needs to be shot from several feet back and punched in. But both videos somehow fucked up the close ups of his face so it appears a lot more oval than it should (something that Live 2003 got RIGHT). Anyway, rant over ;)!

The band AND Eno have both stated they wanted to make sure, because it was important to them, to have life in the music. Sure you can have serious songs, but there needs to be an organic energy. I think they achieved that!

The read Viva La Vida version played on the radio the other night because Violet Hill started at the end. It was pretty funny as it caught Chris (and the listeners) off guard! Just a shortened ending with the oohs which fades into Violet Hill.

I totally agree. I would currently go as far as saying the best piece of music ever written. I have only one other time almost cried because of my euphoric immersion in the music.

It's funny you said that because it was the first thing I said upon hearing the song. Kind of sounds like AROBTTH B-Side, One I Love. Not a fan of CSC.
