  1. Yeah just you try B if your a beginner tho its going to slow you down when you just want to learn and play something. The chords I suggested are the easiest ones there are pretty much. And with a capo on the 4th fret it does sound a lot like Yellow. And if you don't have a capo, people still know what your playing anyway. Way I see it the chord progression of the song can be an different set of chords really as long as they relate to each other. You'll notice B is relational to F and E the same way G is to D and C. Its kinda a pattern all songs use. Key of B or key of G, its the same song. Plus im pretty sure Yellow is played an an electric and a classic guitar anyway. As I said tho, you make the song as hard or easy as you like, as long as it sounds like it and you can keep it consistant its fine. Greeneyes uses the same chords as the first version of Yellow + some more, its far harder to play. Yellow is open chords. Don't panic Im not sure on. Try this guy tho, looks simple enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENmAqbNE37c And the Scientist I was talking about http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFe2fO2zvw8 This ones just a matter of timing, theres not much to it at all.
  2. Yellows pretty easy, G, D and C chords for the verse. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/c/coldplay/yellow_ver4_crd.htm The chorus is a set of fast chord changes, but this was the first song I ever really clicked with. Make the rhythm as easy as you want, I just do up, down as I sing, makes singing nice and easy. It's a great song to get to grips with, and one everyone likes to hear. The Scientist is also easy if you find a video on Youtube by this scottish guy, its not hard to find. Just youtube The Scientist lesson. Both these songs require capos (they shorten the strings), yet really they'll just sound slightly more heavy without them. They say Rush of Blood to the head is easy too, I can see how but you'll need to detune your guitar so the bottom E is a C, which may be advanced for a complete noob :) find your B string (above the little e or thinnest string) press down on fret 2. then play the 2 strings, and tune the little E to sound like the B when the 2nd fret is down. Other easy songs would be Lucky Man / Sonnet by the Verve. Run / Chasing cars by Snow Patrol and High and Dry by Radiohead or Starlight by Muse and One to U2 (those bands are big around here, so im just telling you)
  3. Hehe, Hitler loved bauhaus. But im sure he would have hated the modern art of that cover.
  4. NME has a story from muse they saying they arnt ready to record yet.
  5. Thing is most Snow Patrol albums only have one killer song and them a lot of servicable ones. At least Final Straw was a gripping release that didn't have you skipping the songs and you could listen to it in one go.
  6. Just like CSI shows you how to commit a crime and get away with it... now really.
  7. Hmm, sounds to me like they haven't changed one bit. Shame Snow Patrols sound is so easy to get bored of.
  8. Come on, its the torries turn now, the Labourheads have had 10 years, and fucked up this country just as bad as the tories during Thatcher. All the problems could be solved if we just stopped fighting over oil and focused on renewable sources.
  9. I dunno, I find the onion usually is only as funny as its headlines and if you read the whole thing you find it dull and predictable. Great headlines tho.
  10. R.E.M are the king of random but brilliant lyrics. If I were to make a band I'd definatly make it in the style of R.E.M. Free form verses and bouncy dangling guitars.
  11. Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees The Verve - Sonnet The Verve - The drugs don't work Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head Coldplay - Yellow Travis-Why does it always rain on me U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name Radiohead - Let Down Coldplay - The Scientist Keane - A Bad Dream
  12. Putin isn't president anymore. The Russians were never evil and agressive imo unless you consider America were too. They secured themselves under Stalin and ended up in an ideological struggle, they couldn't expand or retreat, they wouldn't have even got their hands on Germany if the allies had beaten them to Berlin. People tend to watch crap like Red Dawn or 007 movies, Russia never wanted to expand, just not show weakness (intirely) like America. If countries went communist of their own free will, it was a great knock over America. Russia never fullfilled the reputation of the agressors that the West saw them as. There are plenty of people who loved communism. For every Hungarian uprising or Afganistan there was a Vietnam. The Russians were defending their intrests, the same way America does, by leaching and bullying other nations. Same way it has been and always will be.
  13. Sanctions are such a useless incentive. Remember Zimbabwa, it was the big story for a while then it vanished, same with Burma. The media love something like this, but as soon as it comes to no result they drop it from rotation. Even so you mentioned that the US should just pull out of European affairs. Everyone knows America is the key to world peace at the moment, even if you are an agressive nation. As long as America is at the top of the table or some other key democratic nation the world has never been in better shape. A lesson from WW2 was not to let other countries sink into a situation that could lead uncontrolable. Some countries like N Korea, Iran need threatening to keep them in check. Think back to Hitler, he was terrified of America forcing him into submission up till the point his nation were ready to wage war. WW2 happened as a result of a warning from history ignored, it also brought new concepts such as genocide on a large machinated scale of nuclear power to the table. The world immediatly learned these lessons without prompting and as yet there has been no campaigns of consistant explicit hatred/ genocide or warfare waged between developed nations since 1945. World peace may never be achieved but the majority of the world is currently at peace. Its a shame inevitable economic problems will ensure this will not keep forever.
  14. I don't consider the conquest of Georgie anywhere near a repeat of the post war Iron Curtain days. I think comments like that are why Russia feels the need to defend its borders. The way I see it the West is powerless here, it has no bargining chip here. All I see is politicians saying one thing and doing another. The media around this seems very confused, I don't really understand the situation myself.
  15. Please Just Take These Photos From my Hands, sounds very Snow Patrol. Snow Patrol for me are a good band, not essensial and not great. Final Straw was my first ever album, its a great album, their best by far. I hope this album isn't as processed as Eyes Open. A good album but far too radio friendly (and im all for radio friendly stuff) but every so often a song was bland and uninteresting. I hope they gain the more agressive and rocky tendensies of the likes of my favorate Snow Patrol song 'Half the fun' rather than the smoove simplicities of Chasing cars.
  16. HAZEL PARK, MI—In a statement made to reporters earlier this afternoon, local idiot Brandon Mylenek, 26, announced that at approximately 2:30 a.m. tonight, he plans to post an idiotic comment beneath a video on an Internet website. Enlarge Image Mylenek, a moron, prepares to publicly address the "dumbest shiz [he's] evr seen!!!1!" "Later this evening, I intend to watch the video in question, click the 'reply' link above the box reserved for user comments, and draft a response, being careful to put as little thought into it as possible, while making sure to use all capital letters and incorrect punctuation," Mylenek said. "Although I do not yet know exactly what my comment will entail, I can say with a great degree of certainty that it will be incredibly stupid." Mylenek, who rarely in his life has been capable of formulating an idea or opinion worth the amount of oxygen required to express it, went on to guarantee that the text of his comment would be misspelled to the point of incomprehension, that it would defy the laws of both logic and grammar, and that it would allege that several elements of the video are homosexual in nature. "The result will be an astonishing combination of ignorance, offensiveness, and sheer idiocy," Mylenek said. According to the idiot, he will become incensed at the quality and sentiment of the comments already posted below the video—which will include such replies as "not great, nice try tho," "FIRSTIES!!!" and "wtf?? lol so random." At this point, Mylenek said, he will feel a deep, unwavering desire to offer a dissenting opinion, which he has hinted will include the words "gay" and "reatrd" [sic]. "It is my moral obligation to alert the Internet community to the fact that this video is totally gay, and furthermore, that the individual who made it is a fag," Mylenek said. Pressed for further details regarding his intended post, Mylenek, who will comment under the Internet pseudonym "xblingdaddy2005x," revealed that there is a strong possibility he will inadvertently post the comment twice. "After clicking the 'submit' button, I will immediately refresh the page so that I can view my own comment. I will then notice that my comment has not appeared because the server has not yet processed my request, become angry and confused, and re-post the same comment with unintentional variations on the original wording and misspellings, creating two slightly different yet equally moronic comments," he said. "It is my hope that this will illustrate both my childlike level of impatience and my inability to replicate a simple string of letters and symbols 30 seconds after having composed it." Mylenek confirmed rumors that he will be momentarily sidetracked by another inane task while drafting his comment. The distraction is scheduled to come at 2:25 a.m. in the form of a "related video" link featuring a man being sodomized by a horse, which Mylenek will re-watch seven times and laugh obnoxiously at with his friend and fellow idiot, Steve Blanchette, 28. "Once this minor diversion is complete, I will finish posting my comment, then sit there like the worthless human being I am and wait for other commenters to respond," he added. "Because, as I mentioned before, I have nothing better to do with my life." Mylenek said he fully expects that his comment will spawn a series of replies from other idiots around the world, who will either agree with his stance, disagree with his stance, or call Mylenek himself a "d0uche" and post an irrelevant link to a separate video that they will claim to be "way funnier." According to Mylenek, this is all part of the plan. "We are blessed to be living in an age when we have a global communications network in which idiots, assholes, and total and complete wastes of fucking human life alike can come together to give instant feedback in an unfettered and unmonitored online environment," Mylenek said. "What better way to take advantage of this incredible technology than to log onto the Internet and insult a complete stranger?" According to media critic Judy Turner, this type of behavior is not uncommon among idiots. "Brandon's comments in particular contain a degree of unoriginality and stupidity that you only see in the most muttonheaded and imbecilic Internet commenters," Turner said. "In fact, I've seen him use at least a dozen variations of the word 'gay.' Suffice it to say, Brandon Mylenek is a truly stupid, stupid idiot." Mylenek concluded his press conference with a solemn vow to uphold the awful, unintelligible, anger-inducing quality of his past Internet comments. "I promise everyone that this post will be exactly what you have come to expect from an idiot like myself," he said, "and that I will check my comment regularly so that I can call everyone who says it's stupid a fag." http://www.theonion.com/content/news/local_idiot_to_post_comment_on
  17. Stipe is such a talent on stage, he really suprised me when he was performing End of the World at T in The Park.
  18. What do people think of The Hindu Times? I reckon its one of their best songs ever. It seems to be one of their least known. Shock of the lightening is pretty fun.
  19. Picked up Takk on the cheap last week. Can't say I could really get into it if it wasn't for playing it when im playing Halo. Something weird about using that in the background in a shooting game.
  20. New albums pretty good. Its an exciting varied listen. Not Urban Hymns and not A Northern Soul either. Its pretty wordy with some electronica and guitars. Kinda like you'd expect a 21st century shoegazer album to sound. Noise Epic is my fav so far. Can't find an obvious second single here, can anyone?
  21. Seem to be making a lot of mistakes on this tour, (Thom last week and now Jonny...
  22. That man is very close minded. Hes clearly only intrested in music that speaks to a generation like the Sex Pistols in the 70's or Nirvana in the 90's.... its a very closed aproach to music. Then he makes comments than Coldplay's lyrics say nothing about the man, of course they do, the other guy hit it on the head 'he thinks too much' I can relate to Coldplay's music the same way to Radiohead. The minds behind it mimic my own. The otherwise pretensious and silly lyrics that seem like lazy rhyming couplets to me mean something and im sure they do to Chris Martin too. The guy just doesn't get it, Coldplay clearly succeeded here, I don't think anyone there was really bashing it more pulling it apart. And the thing about music, its not meant to be disected, its composed of overlapping items of depth.
  23. Just bought Heathen Chemistry, so far I like it a lot. More so than DBTT. Not much point in the stretching of Better Man
  24. Take it with a pinch of salt. I think an EP is a stronger possibility. Maybe with single no 3. Anyhow who says an EP is confirmed? And didn't coldplay promise 2 seperate singles.
  25. Gotta say I found their latest album pretty bland. Good music but totally bland and unexciting. Now Run, theres a tune to get excited about.
