  1. Wow, he likes a modern band, im speechless.
  2. Two seperate queries here. Keep in mind this is for acoustic guitar not bass. In the recorded version of The Scientist at 3.42 (after the second chorus) theres kinda an outro by a bass guitar that keeps going till the end of the song) What are the best chords to emulate this without a bass? (I use a capo on 3rd fret) Secondly, the second part of Yellow, the part with 8 chord changes and lots of heavy down strokes. Or 10seconds or so in. I know the chords Im supposed to use, but im after some that ring much louder, and sound far heavier. (as in the recorded version) (capo on second fret) What im trying to do here is play the basic riff for the whole of these songs, but add the secondary guitar parts despite the fact I don't have a bass.
  3. Their both twats? I kid, I kid.
  4. Ok, Oasis you have me intrested in your new CD, now don't let me down. That means no 'borrowing lines from the Beatles' no letting Liam or the other guys except Noel pen a song... I know its too late, i've done my research :(
  5. Spirallings the opening track then, which means the album will open with that Woooooo sound.
  6. We should all buy it again
  7. This could be my moment is a weird one. Its pretty spontanious and likable but I never really listen to it. The best Verve B side has to be 'where the geese go' or 'country song' or '3 steps'
  8. For a singles band they've had about 3 big ones. Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky man and Drugs don't work. The other songs, are kinda only known to fans or people with good memories. So yeah, they're an album band imo. And Forth better not suck, the graphic is completely epic.
  9. I really didn't like most of it. I've always thought beyond the first 2 albums, the Stereos are a singles band.
  10. Thou shall not steal. But really hows this album stand up to the other big albums this year (RH and Coldplay) Ill get it on the release date.
  11. Whats with the myth The Beatles created a genre? The Beatles happened to stand out from a music scene where guitar pop first appeared. They then innovated the concept, produced lots of timeless music and took influences from everywhere and everything. They did not invent rock and roll, they just happened to be at the right place at the right time, yet also incredibly talented. If Coldplay was placed in that situation, I doubt they could of succeeded, theres no real charasma compared to that of the Beatles.
  12. Nice to see another fan of Feeder on these forums.
  13. I think both albums have their fair share of filler. Looking foward to Perfect Symmetry tho.
  14. Indeed, I personally think give it 30 years Coldplay will be about as big as R.E.M (there will have well known classics, but overall be kinda under the radar) are now. Not as big as the Beatles for sure. Remember the Beatles had so many songs in the charts they were competiting with themselves, they came along at the dawn of the age of celebrity. Before video games, computers, internet. They were as quintesensial to life as reading litrature was in the 1800's. The climate has completely changed in the world, a new Beatles could never happen.
  15. I could be boring and fill it up with 3 artists... So instead Suede - Sleeping pills A Certain Romance - Arctic Monkeys Hey Jude - The Beatles Beetlebum - Blur The Card Cheat - The Clash Yellow - Coldplay Lucky Man - The Verve Bad - U2 Ignoreland - R.E.M Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead Champagne supernova - Oasis Mayonaise - Smashing Pumpkins Turn - Feeder Run - Snow Patrol Supermassive black hole - Muse A Bad Dream - Keane Paranoid andriod - Radiohead A Rush of blood to the head - Coldplay In My Life - The Beatles Come on - The Verve
  16. Well, it doesn't have the impact of Is It any wonder for me. I do like it tho, it sounds fresh and I think the critics will like it. The extended bridge sounds quite a lot like Roger Waters on The Wall, anyone agree?
  17. No way, musically there are similarities. In scale wise Coldplay's never done anything that innovative, or special, nobody knows who they are (except Chris Martin) and the fanbase they do have is not as dedicated as the Beatles was. There will never be the conditions for another band to be the next Beatles, no band can have so many no1's in the charts their competing with themselves.
  18. Remind anyone of some kinda Sonic The Hedgehog game music.
  19. I though we were getting something really inventive? I don't like either of them much.
  20. I do however agree Coldplay is in their The Unforgettable fire growth spurt. That makes their next album The Joshua Tree!
  21. I don't find uncomprehensable lyrics a problem, I love MM's vocals tho, Brock loves to shout, I love to hear him shout. And one day I will buy another album. I only have Good news and Lonesome wild west (which Im not a fan of really)
  22. No I dissagree Radiohead is in decline, they've just changed their sound to something less exciting than OK Computer. and to be fair, is anything more exciting that OKC?
  23. Excellent, hopefully it won't be overshadowed by Oasis / U2 and Keane. Should be a good month! Cant make the tour tho, uni starts around then :(
  24. I've got the chords A / D / G, an acoustic guitar and I want to learn this song. Basically i've got the strumming pattern. D U D DDD DUDU DUDU (repeat) I just need the chord pattern (ie where you change chord in the strum pattern) Any help would be great. (Note the chords i got don't sound right, maybe their wrong or maybe im not supposed to hit every string in the chord)
  25. Anyone else attack the internet drunk one night and from them make the concious decision to never use the internet when drunk?
