Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (OUT THIS FRI(ROW)/SAT (UK)!!) - [Walking Man and Videos + GIFs + Scre
I quite enjoy this. It's not as deep as I was possibly hoping, but doesn't mean it's not great fun. And hey, neither was Viva. They're both wonderful, catchy, awesome pop songs. I just guess I was expecting another Violet Hill - something completely out of left field, stylistically. Yeah, this is dancey but it's not as unexpected as I was hoping. Still, from the studiofeed videos, and all I've heard about the process, I'm guessing that the album will be a little more out there. I'm 5 plays in, and it's growing on me rapidly.

One Year of Violet Hill
i remember that! i was waiting eagerly for 9 pm, reloading coldplay.com... then because of the demand the website crashed. i nearly went insane then.. but i waited 15 mins and went to their myspace, where it was streaming. I remember thinking, "thank god, they've done it again." i was so happy.

14-Mar-09: Coldplay to play Sydney Bushfire Benefit Show, Sydney, Australia [Live broadcast Triple J
that would be so amazing i can't think straight. i'm in melbourne and i'll be there. even if coldplay aren't playing, it'd be mindblowing - i mean, where else can you see Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters at the same concert? if Coldplay are there as well my life will be beyond perfect.

3-Mar-2009: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, Australia - Tickets, Meetups, Reviews/Photos
no, the presale is only a small allocation of all the seats. probably about 5-10%. the rest of the tickets go on sale 4 december next week. so don't worry, the presale will probs sell out but heaps of tickets are still available.

One Coldplay song that fits your life
Swallowed in the Sea, definitely.

General Chat: Setlist
i didn't get to go to their melbourne concert in 06. i'm so jealous. i'll never get to hear my favourite song, swallowed in the sea, now. i mean, 42 and all those songs are great, but SITS just has.. something that they don't. a certain emotion. that was what i loved most about the x&y songs: they had so much emotion. songs like x&y. i love viva la vida wholeheartedly, but i would really like to hear swallowed live just once.

Prospekt's March in Australia.
i don't think it'll be too much of a problem. i mean, it's coldplay. viva la vida was on the charts for a million years. prospekt's will definitely be available, just probably not as widely. shame jb won't have it though, they're usually so much cheaper than sanity.

Music in Interview on AT&T Blue Room?
its possible i suppose.. the music in the first interview sounded quite coldplayish...

Apple and Coldplay...like two peas in a pod
it's a conspiracy! lol. yeah i'm a massive apple fan too - only use macs at my house, and you're definitely right about the apple store thing. maybe there is a sponsorship deal or something, like how U2 got their own personalised iPods.

what ever happen to the song every must hear before they die
yeah i'd be interested to find out which song that was... although i love VLV

The Age, Melbourne Australia review of VLV - 4.5 stars
don't know if this is threadworthy but anyway... VIVA LA VIDA - COLDPLAY 4.5 stars Coldplay's third album, 2005's X&Y, was a minor hiccup for a band that flirted with greatness with its first two records. When they reconvened after a lengthy hiatus for this follow-up, they decided to do something different. So they hired Brian Eno. They have ignored their detractors, delivering 10 beautifully recorded tracks. Their motive for working with Eno is transparent. Chris Martin's way with a tune coupled with Eno's gorgeous soundscapes are an imposing double act. Martin transposes his lyrics to their darkest, most ominous place yet. His defining falsetto is even courageously discarded on Yes. The result is an almost-churlish vocal over an African-inspired string-and-tablas arrangement. Yet, for all of the album's subtleties, it's title track is one of a cluster of moments positively built for stadiums. Eno's magnificent production sounds imposing blasting through the speakers. Predictably, Coldplay have been already been derided for not going far enough Left. Rubbish. Their scrupulous search for the perfect pop song now encompasses three-act tracks, distorted guitars, officious strings, pounding percussions, Afro-pop, electro loops and a constellation of sonic curveballs. Album of the year, so far.

I've listened to most of CP's back catalog recently...
all their lp's are different in so many ways. right now i love VLV, and i thing X&Y is underrated, and i love both AROBTTH and Parachutes. But the stuff i've heard from their back catalog is incredible too! They are such a consistently excellent band.

what.cd
the what.cd site is bizarre! what the hell does this mean?? You've stumbled upon a door where your mind is the key. There are none who will lend you guidance; these trials are yours to conquer alone. Entering here will take more than mere logic and strategy, but the criteria are just as hidden as what they reveal. Find yourself, and you will find the very thing hidden behind this page. Beyond here is something like a utopia - beyond here is What.CD. its on the official site lol

i really wanted to see something new though :( and look on the full picture now! it shows some lyrics for prospekts march and poppy fields and other songs that aren't on the album! maybe that double album concept has merit......
