October 23th at the moment. not too sure what the problem is.

^^ unfortunately it wasnt deemed good enough to be on the new album which has been postponed again and wont be out until late october now. i've read a couple of reviews so far and they've both been negative, but wolfmother didnt really get all that much criticial acclaim for their debut either and that was freken awesome.

theyre in sydney at the moment. couldn't quite get anyone to go with me :( but still Fantasies is one of my faves of the year.

^^ thats quite a few of us now. its my no.1 and i think briggins and julie are with us.

i think its pretty clear that Kurt has had a much bigger influence than Thom. but you have to look at the artists/bands they have influenced. the last decade has seen countless male vocalists try and emulate his voice and style and this has produced the likes of Nickelback, Finger Eleven and all those other terrible insufferable pop punk bands. but then you look at the influence Thom has had, Coldplay and Muse. a smaller influence but has produced far superior results.

well PJ seems to be dominating so far. cant help but wonder how different things would of been had Kurt not died and Nirvana continued to record music.

does anybody else think that Sir Paul will headline one of the nights at glasto 2010? i really hope he heads down to aus next year, i want to be able to say that i at least saw one of the beatles live on stage. i've familiarised myself with 8 of their albums so far and at this point funnily enough, George is easily my favourite member. i just love every single song he wrote for them.

finally got my hands on these Dioramma - Silverchair White Blood Cells - The White Stripes Kid A 2CD/DVD - Radiohead (for a friend)

if people can spend $300 million on 100mins of film why shouldn't U2 spend half of that on an incredible concert tour. i still think the band and its management have gone way way over the top with this tour. to me (someone who hasnt enjoyed an U2 album since 1991) its just a very expensive sugar coating of their new stuff. but i know 90% of true U2 fans would disagree with me.

^^ that makes no sense whatsoever. feel free to vouch for nirvana but you could at least make valid arguements. all pearl jam fans would admit that their best stuff was on their first 4 albums after that they didnt care much for massive success. nirvana started with a half decent album then made an amazing album then finished off with another half decent album. put it this way, if nirvana (kurt cobain) hadnt written nevermind, they would still only have 500 fans like they did in 1989. whereas in the early 90s pearl jam proved time and time again that they are able to make a wide variety of music aside from grunge. like bjaiken argued a few months ago (well someone did), nirvana owes much (not all) of their longterm success and immortalisation to the suicide of kurt.

damn double post. anybody brave enough to make predictions as to who will be on the second line up? saw an interview with one of the organisers this morning, she confirmed that Lily will play the Main Orange Stage just before Muse. dont want to be pessimistic but i cant imagine it going down too well.

has a band ever headlined BDO and not done side shows? i dont recall any you're pretty safe

just got a massive poster from the free street music mag i pick up weekly. its 2 metres long and 80cm wide. on one side you have a live shot of matt bellamy playing his red guitar and on the other side you have the official BDO 2010 poster w/lineup. looks awesome! but i kinda wish that they made this after the entire line up had been announced second line up expected early november.

i would love to see them do both. arena for the relative intimacy but stadium because the idea of 50 000 people chanting along to the Alive solo or singing Better Man gives me goosebumps.

^^ which in my humble opinion has produced a stronger line up than BDO. at least in terms of that brand of music. i'm really worried about the future of the BDO, you cant help but feel the line ups are becoming progessively weaker and weaker whilst all the other summer fests are getting better with every year.

well pablo honey was essentially a "grunge" record. and creep a "grunge" anthem.

^^ well about convincing your folks to let you go. it would be wise to take a few guys with you preferrably older than you (im guessing you're still in high school). i think 2010 like 09 wont attract too many of the "lad" types because of the line up. i guess you can try and convince them that you wont be jumping into the middle of the moshpit. but they've got quite a few strong reasons for you not going. its better for me, my parents think big day out is a rock band. hmm about selling out? are you from melbourne? alex would know better than me but i dont think 2009 BDO sold out, so its even less likely this year will. before 09 sydney used to sell out in a couple of days, in 09 the initial allocation of 45 000 tix went in a few days then the remaining 10 000 tix were balloted off over afew weeks. i won the ballot several times but for personal reasons i couldnt go.
