Pearl Jam
its only a week away from release anyways so not a massive leak like the arctic monkeys album. i'll take a listen tomorrow. but my expectations arent that high simply because PJ have already achieved sooo much in their careers they have nothing left to prove.

The Beatles
i got Revolver and Abbey Road today! might get Help and white album later in the year.

Wolfmother
it was a great tragedy in australian music when they broke up. they had the potential of becoming one of our best bands ever. i just dont see that happening now. i actually think New Moon Rising is a pretty good track but i hope there are some more interesting tracks on the new album.

The Oasis Thread

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
enjoy taking off the million stickets JB love to put on everything. especially the white one they have. freaking annoying! i like to have a totally clean cover even the language warning sticker must go. thats why i prefer digipaks, easier to take off the stickers. there's a massive poster outside my local JB saying "The Resistance Out September 14" you walk in and there's a million copies of it on the shelves.

Them Crooked Vultures
have you seen the official dates for BDO 2010? i've got the feeling it might start in Perth this year and go the other way around.just by looking at the order of the dates on the Vultures tour. it would seem ludicrous to tour around at that time of the year and not do the festival. EDIT: http://www.frontiertouring.com/currenttours/Them_Crooked_Vultures__Australia_and_New_Zealand_2010 PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO SEE TCV THIS JANUARY YOU CAN ONLY SEE THEM AT HEADLINE SHOWS. THERE WILL BE NO FESTIVAL APPEARANCES.

Them Crooked Vultures
Them Crooked Vultures - Australian Tour 2010 Tue Jan 19 - Challenge Stadium, Perth Fri Jan 22 - Festival Hall, Melbourne Mon Jan 25 - Riverstage, Brisbane Tue Jan 26 - Hordern Pavilion, Sydney WOOOHOOOOOO they dont look like BDO side show dates?? unless the dates for next years event have been changed or something. i'm going to this for sure. will most probably be my only opportunity to ever see a member of Led Zep live in action.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/geo/muse_resistance/ about 300 responses to the new album. i dont think there's a single negative one in there.

Arctic Monkeys!
for me its just Secret Door, Potions Approaching and Fire and the Thud which are a little weak (the last being the only "bad" song). otherwise the other stuff is just as good if not better than everything else they have done.

The Beatles
are there any crazy hardcore fans here? who have all the bootlegs of the band's recording sessions. cos the beatles used to record every single thing they did in the studio. everything from discussion between the guys, every take they did, jam sessions and everything in between. from memory i think there are over 40 takes of Get Back available. The new Rock Band game apparently has never before heard "conversations" between the guys in the studio which ended up being recorded. i wish bands did that nowadays.

Arctic Monkeys!

Albums of the Year 2009 *Now Closed*
^^ i've decided to split my lists into International and Australian. No particular reason. the aussie one is proving to be difficult to put together. its been a relatively dissapointing year down here.

The Beatles
^^ had no idea you were much of a Beatles fan. do you have a favourite out of those. Revolver is my personal fave followed by Help, White Album and Abbey Road.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
i'm going to judge this album. like with all their previous albums, on how it words live. i'm very very curious to see what they do. when's the first proper full concert?

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
i kinda hoped for more songs like Unnatural Selection. but otherwise its ok so far.
-
Arctic Monkeys!
i still cant get over the fact that Miles made an album with his "side project' LSP before he made an album with his own band The Rascals.
-
The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
i don't think any album has received this much attention and anticipation since radiohead's in rainbows came out in 2007. at least from an alternative rock point of view.
-
Arctic Monkeys!
they've evolved with every album. it will be interesting to see where they go next. would love to see a new album next year. but ive got the feeling alex will be back doing work with LSP after this.

The Beatles

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4eVMDXBcBY]YouTube - Muse - Resistance[/ame] is this for real? sounds pretty legit. EDIT: listened to it. another fairly simple half decent song. but the piano work is nice.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
has anybody heard Resistance yet? or will the radio premiere in a few hours be the first time anyone hears it?
