^^ thanks for making the thread. i was jumping up and down about these guys a few months ago when they brought out their song Velvet but everyone ignored me. I'm still undecided on their album after 3 or 4 listens but Velvet is still my favourite song of the year and Dominos is doing massive things down here in aus.

about time one of the best live bands in the world bring out a live dvd. and i LOVE sam's town acoustic!

yeah i agree with you in a way. but i still think its quite OTT (means over the top incase you didnt know) in place and trust me, if there werent any OTT moments on the album i would be complaining because nobody does OTT rock like muse. so just to make it clear. im not saying the album as a whole is OTT just there are certain moments in the album which are. just like every previous muse album. but the 15mins symphony has sort of taken it to a new level.

i guess its more meaningful when its all coherent and proper. but i think more than anything this will just be our fave artists bringing out one new song. which i guess is sort of exciting.

dudes!! the album ends with a 3 part 15min symphony!! if that isnt over the top then somebody please show me what is. its called stadium rock for a reason. of course there are some 'normal' moments but overall the album is pretty big. muse are cheesy in a cool fun way not in a rick astley way.

i really really want to disagree with you. but to a certain degree you're right. just the way you've stated it makes it sound really bad. muse is cheesy, self indulgent and over the top and if you told the band that they would pretty much agree with you. its not the type of music you sit down and analyse. but i dont see how its cheesy-ness and self indulgence makes it shit? muse have always reminded me of the chili peppers who are just as cheesy and self indulgent and cannot be taken seriously. but like muse they are briliant musicians so its hard not to appreciate them and enjoy their music.

will the music on the soundtrack have anything at all to do wih the actual movie!!??! i highly doubt the bands on this soundtrack are going to sit down and watch the movie then write a song that seems relevant. the producers have simply thrown alot of money at them and good on em for taking it. they would be stupid not to. i always feel indifferent when a band i like starts to get more attention from a wider audience. on the one hand i think it was cooler when not many people knew about them but then it is nice that they are finally being recognised for their talents.
