Festival fans receive a flag ban
they did the same at our Big Day Out a few years ago. did not go down very well at all. but the intention of the ban was very different. it was more based around racial tensions going around at the time in sydney. http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Aussies_ignore_flag_ban_at_Big_Day_Out_festival

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
if it was a top 10 based on how much i like them live on stage then The Killers would most certainly be in there. but i've only really enjoyed one album from them and that was Hot Fuss. their music sounds much much much better live.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7elBWUg7twE]YouTube - The Killers - Mr Brightside and All These Things I've Done Live at V Festival 2009 Chelmsford[/ame] this is fucking amazing. one of the greatest live bands ever.

Arctic Monkeys!
its worth every cent
-
Radiohead
is this the first time they've ever played in Poland. maybe thats the reason they played Creep. i dont mind, the song always sounds good live.
-
Pearl Jam
^^ although i didnt see the band in the flesh on their last tour just going by video footage of the shows it seemed as though the songs from that album went well live on stage. i think the band has realised that they wont be making much money from selling records so they would be better off putting on the best show they possibly can and that i guess involves making music that resonates well in concert arenas. from reports i've heard that PJ sold over 100 000 tickets to their aussie shows on the first day of sales. including 30 000 just in sydney

The XX
apparently Crystalised is available for free on iTunes UK
-
The XX
they were one of the most hyped up bands of 2009 and now they've delivered their debut album. the music media is all over these guys. universal acclaim status on metacritic. what do you think ?? Radiohead
ooooooo maybe thom is sending you a secret message!!:P
-
Pearl Jam
^^ i thought they did that on their 2006 self titled album. that record had alot of radio friendly songs well at least they were arena friendly lol.
-
Arctic Monkeys!
^^ yeah usually he does excellent interviews. but that one was very boring. i think he has interviewed alex at least 5 or 6 times so he has the right to be more inquisitive with his questions. dissapointing.

Arctic Monkeys!
Alex talking to triple j's richard kingsmill http://mpegmedia.abc.net.au/triplej/kingsmill/2009_arcticmonkeys_2009_08_23.mp3

Watch and Be Inspired
the most incredible thing is how they go from one picture/frame to the next. its soo seamless. the girl in the first video told that story so wonderfully. i wonder how many people in the world have this talent. i wouldn't think there are too many.

The Oasis Thread
both brothers were at the man city game over the weekend and they were quite animated throughout. something must of happened on sunday.
-
Arctic Monkeys!
i was listening to Humbug on the bus this morning and for the first time i realised how brilliant the guitar work is on Dance Little Liar (last 2mins of it). i love the way the two guitars work together just shows what awesome musicians they all are. bands who depend on catchy melodies studio tricks and lovey dovey lyrics always run the risk of making an epic fail album. but in more cases than not, good musicians will always make half decent records if not brilliant ones.
-
Placebo
i think they've pretty much had to cancel most of their american tour. the singer from Jet also passed out on stage last week as did steven tyler from aerosmith. the guys from kasabian are down with suspected swine flu and oasis cancelled their v fest performance cos of sickness. and we all know of coldplay calling off a show due to medical reasons. something must be going around.
-
Death Cab For Cutie!
looks like a great gig!
-
Arctic Monkeys!
^^ its the feature album this week so they play a track off it every couple of hours.
-
Arctic Monkeys!
i dont skip any of the tracks. just "relatively speaking" i dont enjoy fire and the thud as much as the rest. heard potions approaching on the radio this morning and it sounded pretty decent.
-
Tame Impala
jam bands aren't really appreciated by the general public. the living end has a pretty mainstream following especially after this latest album.
-
*Any JAY-Z fans???*
aussie singer Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun fame will feature on the opening track.
